Toss up I suppose between him and Eubank Snr. Both fought everyone, had granite chins, a warrior mentality and were always good entertainment value. Gotta love em both. Frochy's youtube is pretty funny, he'll probably leave a bigger impression in the end. Maybe he needs a monocle an 18 wheeler cab and some jodhpurs to secure that legacy :D

Jelousy is a fine thing my good man! Carl was an old school fighter/boxer. What I mean by that, is that not many super middles are willing to stand there and exchange all 12 rounds. His chin was a genuine weapon in his arsenal, but he was an exceptional trader of punches and apart from the first Kessler fight(which btw I was in attendance, and Kessler definately won that hands down), and the sublime skills of Ward, he has pulverised the rest of his peers. Great fighter. Great talker '90k sold out wembly before AJ' 😂😂

I hope Carl himself gets to see this, always enjoyed watching him. Just a couple of things: 1. Even though the Robin Reid fight seemed fairly straightforward, Froch has since been on record as saying he was never hurt by anyone as much as Reid at the end of the fourth round. I've even read him saying his corner were pinching his legs and he didn't notice for several seconds he was so out of it. In fairness, this isn't clear from watching the fight, he hid it pretty well; 2. I never saw the Calzaghe situation as a duck, personally. When Calzaghe had his retirement bout, Froch was still just at British title level having last fought Albert Rybacki. The idea that he was on a level to challenge Joe seems more put about by Carl than anyone.

Froch was never very popular until the super six. I was a big fan though, back when he was rising through the ranks .....he used to have this uppercut he'd throw from across the ring, it was so unorthodox but totally epic. I'd also say he was one of the strongest boxers ever mentally. He never allowed himself to lose in his head and that's why he left it all in the ring. McCracken also played a huge part in his career. The two worked so well together
@ADayWithoutYesterday Жыл бұрын
Do you remember him whining on his stool within the first couple of rounds when fighting Groves how he wasn't in control of the fight? Does that sound mentally strong to you. People talk such shit when it comes to boxing.
@Rosseboi Жыл бұрын
@@ADayWithoutYesterday he was pissed off and venting. He came strange ght back out and went on to win the fight didn't he GENIUS? That's not the same as taking a knee, flaking out, biting your opponent's ear, storming out of the ring or grabbing the belts and mic then throwing a tantrum. You're right people do talk shit about boxing, and you'd be top of the list.
@Rosseboi Жыл бұрын
@@ADayWithoutYesterday obviously. That's why he came out and proceeded to lose.... Oh wait.... Yeah, guess he really shit himself didn't he?
@ADayWithoutYesterday Жыл бұрын
@@Rosseboi The primary reason Grove lost was because he was immature. In the first bout when he knocked Froch to the floor he stood back showing off more or less saying 'Hey everyone look what I just did.' A Tommy Hearns would have never let Froch off the hook. It was Groves' fault not Froch's superior ability because at heart Froch is just a plodder.
@Rosseboi Жыл бұрын
@@ADayWithoutYesterday thought you just said Froch had a mental breakdown. Now you're saying Groves was immature. He lost to badou jack in 2015 and Callum Smith in 2018. When did he mature then? After Froch had a hissy fit and KO'd him twice? Or the two losses in the next 4 years before he retired?
