I couldn't understand the episode. He was kidnapping then to rape or just kill. Earlier in the start jane said the killer had a conscience and was confused. He changed his mind and did not rape the girl. But in the last murder both are shown trying to kill the victim. The question is what was the motive. Were they just a serial killer couple or had some other motivations.

Then, after his wife somehow joined in, they wanted to rape and kill, but suffocated the first victim we saw in the episode by mistake in a panic when the police came to the restaurant for a different reason. Then they decided to try again.
