Nice! I bought a low mileage 2003 SLK32 about 3 months ago and I enjoy it a lot. I like this early R170 look more than the swoopy later versions (but that's just a matter of taste). Thanks for posting this.

Nice! I owned a 2001 SLK 32 for about 3 years absolutely amazing to drive the 3.2 AMG V6 really felt like a sledgehammer coming down in terms of thrust. Hang on to it I am still kicking myself for selling mine a year ago but found my way back to an R170 exactly like the one in this video in imperial red which I plan to keep for as long as possible and enjoy every drive :D

I have a 1998 model exactly like this with the Sport package in imperial red, I regretted selling my SLK 32 AMG so I went back to an SLK 230 which was my childhood dream car since 1999. I have now had the red SLK for almost 6 months and loving every minute of driving it. It's lower maintenance than the SLK 32 and feels lighter more nimble in my opinion having owned both. I can say the R170 is a very elegant timeless design, especially in the Sport Package. Bruno Sacco designed another masterpiece :)

Great video ! Iconic car !!! We bought SLK R170 1997 model with regular 2.0l engine , 136 HP (the smallest one) with automatic transmission . It was in very bad shape , only the engine was working flawless . Got it for ~1200$ and the journey began ... we had a lot of rust and rotted parts ... welding sanding etc...he roof was not working , someone tried to paint the red interior black (failed miserly) . After fixing almost everything + 18 inch wheels with tires 225/40/18 in front and 255/35/18 in the back total amount we spent is around 8k $ . The car has 70 000 miles (probably not realistic) . We drive it only in the summer and although it has small engine the experience driving this with the roof down is amazing ! :) PS. We swapped the grill with C - class looks and the headlights with angel eyes and that improved the front looks of the car a lot .
