Would you consider doing a demo video of the Horizon Devices Apex Preamp pedal hooked up to this and a comparison to how the Apex Preamp sounds hooked up to the Engl Cabloader pedal? I think the tone would be awesome on both IR loader pedals.

Sounds great. Seems like a good option if you want more of a plug and play thing.

i found the trick with IRS is to close your eyes, cycle quicly and choose abruptly. otherwise youll spend a never ending amount of time focusing on small details of sound that dont make much of a difference. for example the ua diezel vh4 comes with tons of cab options, it took me like two minutes to settle on #26, sounds perfect dont need to search unless its for my own curiosity now.

John never fails us with the amazing riffs! It sounds really good to my ears, but I also know nothing about the amp and what it's supposed to sound like.

Hey John Browne, I've wondered. Throughout your 20-ish years of taking guitar seriously what has been your biggest struggles personally? Whether that be losing interest. Feeling stuck in your progression such as weak technique. Getting stuck with writing songs and coming up with ideas. Or whatever else you can think of. And during what years of your playing would you say you feel you made the most progression as a guitarist, what was it and how did you achieve it? Also... Do you ever feel you've reached any kind of limit in terms of how much you can actually progress or do you feel you will only keep getting better? Is there anything you're currently trying to improve on with your own technique and areas/styles of playing? And finally are there any styles of guitar playing techniques that you've never really bothered to learn but would actually like to learn at some point? Let's say for example flamenco style guitar strumming, multiple finger tapping ect ect. I don't know if you know any of these styles already, I'm just throwing examples out there. I know I'm asking alot of questions... I think I'll just end up asking a videos worth of AMA questions if I continue so I'll just stop there haha.

I really like how the presence control and how it reacts with the amps. Is this a reactive load box so you can go cab less?
@JohnBrownemonuments4 жыл бұрын
Brad Schimke yes I didn’t use a cab with this
@TheVashnessItself994 жыл бұрын
i don't know if its reactive in terms of the load i think it's more likely to be resistive, but google it

You mentioned a lead sound using the single 12", is this normal for you to do to create a lead tone from a rhythm sound? Or would do something more intriguing? Help!

Need help!!!!! I just changed out a passive emg for a Seymour Duncan nazgul in my les Paul . Now I get this high pitch squeal when I mute the strings. I have a precision drive gate maxed. When I just listen to my cab in the room I don’t hear it. But when I listen to the cab mic’ed up into an interface, monitoring it through headphones I can hear it and it records it. I’ve never had this problem on any other guitar so it had something to do with this pickup. What can I do to get rid of that annoying squeal?
@jamesmelton52454 жыл бұрын
Probably too simple of an answer but is the pickup height may be too tall in the strings getting a little too close to the poles when you mute
@seangriffey86694 жыл бұрын
Not sure exactly what you're hearing but my best guess is that the strings behind the nut or behind the bridge are ringing out. Mute them with something
@iron_tyson4 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure I had the same issue with my Precision Drive. It's as if the gate doesn't clamp down quick enough or something and it sounds like a dirty feedback noise that lasts about 1 second, getting louder before completely cutting out. I ended up upgrading to the Fortin Zuul and I don't remember having the same issue since.
@trevorphilips94844 жыл бұрын
Try putting foam under the strings after the nut, where your truss rod cover is. Then again that just stops sympathetic ringing, I wouldn't call it squealing.
