Amara Agunwa because worshipers at the temple were meant to be pure in all ways especially for Athena because she represented wisdom and purity, so when she was r*ped inside of athenas temple Athena took it as an offense and punished Medusa for being a “slut” essentially. However in different versions of the story, Medusa was actually blessed by Athena to have the ability to turn people in to stones. Because then she could defend herself if that were to happen again to her. It depends on the region of Greece the story is being told from.

Such a great presentation, as always - The Fates are an strong underpinning to so much. A couple of cents tossed in, because that's who I am... There is another myth concerning the Fates directly: Apollo got them drunk once and persuaded them to spare his friend Admetus from death, which they consented to on the condition that Admetus find someone else to die in his place. Admetus tried to convince his old parents but they refused. His wife Alcestis volunteered. Heracles happened to be in the neighborhood the day Alcestis was to die, and, long story short, he waited outside Alcestis' door and defeated Death. There are other deities outside of Greece that are equivalent to the Fates, notably the Norns in Norse mythology. Thanks for distinguishing the Moirai from the Graeae - that was very frustrating for me. Clotho actually comes first in the line-up: you have to spin the thread into existence before you can measure. The name of the kingdom is pronounced with a hard C: "KAL-i-don". I'd love to hear your take on Atalanta, who was a very interesting character.
