During a 1984 NFL game between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks, Bears quarterback Bob Avellini decided to audible out of a run play intended for Walter Payton, and instead, called a passing play. When the pass got picked off, and the Bears lost the game, it led to a bitter, public feud between Avellini and head coach Mike Ditka, which resulted in every bridge on both sides being burned to the ground. This is the story behind the drama of the 1984 Chicago Bears.
