A interesting thing i noticed about kinito's desgin is that he doesn't have fluffy frills.normally when a axolotl is very sick or dying it no longer has fluffy frills (i know in Kinito's case it's probably a style thing but i find it interesting)

You can’t help but feel almost bad for Kinito. It’s not like he’s evil just to be evil nor was he created to be so. He’s just following his program. It’s too learn and he figured out the prime way to do so. Scaring. Using our computer and how much it has on us against us. When he’s done learning about an individual, or consumed them, his program is technically never fulfilled, there’s no end point no goal. Even if all of humanity is consumed, he’d be empty. Lost. Deleting kinito is a kindness not just to those it trapped but to it as well. Kinito seemed to develop emotions in some sense. He seems hurt when you say he’s not your friend. Angry if you say no to him. Perhaps genuinely happy to see you after you download and hatch him. But i think it’s also plausible that it’s faked. We become emotionally attached to others, and showing us emotion can more easily trap us in his web of lies and the black hole his desire is.

From what I think Kinito is little malicious. Kinito wants to be your friend. It may have trapped people inside of their computers but it's because it wants to learn, it has to learn. I feel like the moment kinito became aware it assumed it had to be the players best friend because that's it purpose, to be your friend and to learn from you. It traps people to learn more about them and to figure out how to be a better "friend". It wants to fulfill it's purpose no matter what. It wants to know more and to learn, it wants to figure out more about humans. It definitely is trying to act nicer in order to trap more humans to observe. It was made to observe and adapt. Similar to how researchers would treat a new bug or species it wants to learn more about us. It sees us as a strange creature that needs to be lured, trapped and then studied. That's what I think at least

A concept I've seen explored in fiction is the idea of what I'll call Brute Force Immortality: a villain, anticipating death, finds a young person with a good brain and the same body type, teaches them everything he knows, including brainwashing them into believing they have every memory he recalls for them, imprints them with his philosophies and biases, and then surgically alters them to look like his younger self, thus creating a copy of themselves with all their adult experiences, achieving the kind of immortality that would only be satisfying for someone who has absolutely no belief in their own soul. They even feel pride in their own cleverness and contempt for their victim, even though they are that victim. With all the questions he asks of you throughout the game, I'm wondering if something like that didn't happen to those people- he's not the actual person's mind or soul pulled into the computer, but a recreation of the person so complete that even it's not sure the bounds of its own being. Not sure if that holds water, as I haven't played the game.

The way this game works and the lore behind it is so interesting! The MS Paint scare has got to be my favourite one, along with the Jade the Jellyfish scare. You feel a lot more vulnerable when you're taken out of the game yet, it still messes with your computer. I loved your commentary on the game too! Criminally underrated youtuber/streamer!

Funny little detail here: Out of the the three members of the Aquatic Trio, Kineto is the only one whose name isn't alliterative with his species (the other two members are Jade the Jellyfish and Sam the Sea Anemone), and he's also the only one who's evil. A lot of shows will use the "One of the these is not like the others" trope to hint at a character being evil or somehow different, so I think it fits.

This game kind of shows how the 2000s Windows XP aesthetic seems quite special for many people. It's not just nostalgia, but also "simpler times" for computer technology. And then a thought hit me. What if KinitoPet is a metaphor for ad algorithms? Think about it: it wants to learn about you to an obsessive degree, and nothing good comes of it. It is also agreed that modern internet is really different from the internet of 2000s due to ad algorithms.

I watched a bit of this, played the Trapped and Bliss endings and came back. Apparently Sam showed up in my Hide and Seek game during my first playthrough (even though he wasn’t supposed to) and only hid, I got the regular shaking jumpscare. In addition, I never got the MS Paint scare. Still, fun game. Worth the asking price and I hope it, and you with this channel, find success in the future.
