Definitely only quest games. This is an application feature for motion tracked frame interpolation (kinda like motion blur, but aiming for the opposite effect) and will be pulling movement data from an API on the quest (a live updating database of information the quest gives software, in this case outputting motion and gaze several thousand times per second). PC games may have their own equivalent, but largely they don't need to as there is no need to 'fake' the frames.

Requires low level integration, so not unless they update ASW on PC (which would require updated games, something not many would do on a). It also increases controller latency (according to dev documentation it would be higher than it is without appspacewarp) so would probably be a bad idea to use with wireless.

Pihole can be used to kill the targeted ads. It's difficult for the average consumer to keep their data secured though.

I'm a bit of an optimist, so I see a silver lining here with the chip shortage. 1) This time allows us to remember that we are much more than just the electronics that we use, we can spend time doing other things that are also quite important 2) People will have to get creative with the currently available hardware, allowing for potential to come up with creative solutions to push new boundaries without having more horse power available - this time could be one with the maturest of software solutions perhaps ever because of our hardware limitations

Dedicated consoles often bring out this principal the most. The problem with PC gaming at times is that some devs don't feel there are any limitations and do not spend much time on optimization, leading to some pretty big messes.

On the chip shortage: We will hopefully see a new influx of GPUs, as Ethereum is changing from a proof of work where miners are 'racing' each other, to a proof of stake system, which you can literally mine on your phone. This should hopefully bring many more GPUs to the gaming community!

I was more talking about how there would be less bots buying up all of the stock. Also, as Tyla said if you properly cool it mining shouldn't noticeably hurt your GPU.

Well, the first steps, development, are moving toward the XR standard at least, so it's a start. Before, development was mostly restricted to either SteamVR SDK or Oculus SDK (PC), but OpenXR helps with developers being able to get more apps out on more headsets. The next step is finding a more unified standard for "metaverses" as you have said, and if history repeats itself, the strongest one will survive. I don't know if that'll be good or bad though in this case since Meta has the most money and resources. The only good thing they've changed is ditching their Oculus SDK for OpenXR.

Really hoping they make meaningful progress with this technology. SSW and ASW both make games choppy as hell when on, so hopefully this will work a bit better when it does release.

ASW doesn't make the game choppy, it's just that actual framerate is very low, but your headset movement is still being relayed done at at a full 90 or 60 Hz. If you turn off ASW with a low frame rate you just get motion sick faster.
