Beautiful discussion! Love the background theme. (If it was in Latin: _«Quid est veritas?»_ Pilate asked Jesus. An answer could be given with the same letters as the question: _«Est vir qui adest»_ (it’s the man that’s here).

I was getting the notion we (Josh and you) were philosophizing about philosophy and when is philosophy true. Philosophy being concepts thought about to describe what could be true and whether it is true and when. Reaching out with thoughts to the edges grasping at anything to see if its there! Just my thoughts nothing more lol.

You should clip out the section where you talk with him about Jordan Peterson's pragmatic theory of truth, that will get a ton of views.

I think Rasmussen's account to how we can reasonably think there is an external world doesn't quite get you far enough. For, there's a difference between thinking something is PROBABLY true, vs thinking that it is true. I can roll a 20-sided die and think before looking that it is PROBABLY a number under 15, but, that does not give me grounds for thinking that it IS a number under 15, I need more, such as, by seeing that it is under 15.

What would be all the theories of truth that you are talking about here, a list would be very helpful.

It seems that all of man's thinking throughout time, whether primitive living and conversely, our technological "advanced" life today, points to the same thing, a necessary thing, and our concepts of God shape how we try to attribute properties to it in efforts to explain existence. Whether this necessary "thing" is personal or just a collective "essence" or is something of "happen stance". Paul teaches us that the things of God are clearly seen in his creation, how we respond and what properties we attribute to them are reflected in our concepts of who or what that necessary thing is. God existence is what permeates all we know. Do we think of God because he is thinking of us?

And I thought my husband's mustache was cool! What are your thoughts on Steven Meyer's book, "The God Hypothesis"? Thanks for your great insight.
