Probably one of the creepiest things about being an explorer in the Metroid verse, encountering lost cities built by a highly advance race and wondering what happened to them, what could have caused an entire race to disappear. When its stuff like Phazon and the big bad of this game, its probably pure cosmic horror for normal civilians to learn some beings in the galaxy are powerful enough to destroy an entire civilization single handedly. That some thing can just come from the unknown reaches and be unstoppable. If Metroid were any other series and Samus was not involved, it be a series of Lovecraft stories set in space.

I honestly agree. It’s amazingly horrific how a single creature or substance can result in the absolute death and destruction of an entire species and their culture, leaving only ruins and bones behind. And the Alimbics along with the Chozo of Tallon IV are just two of several other advance races in Metroid that suffer a catastrophic event that completely “or nearly” destroyed their world and wiped out their people. But the thing that makes this even more terrifying…is the unintended realism of this concept. Space is unfathomably massive and we have no idea what’s out there. So there really might be entities capable of wiping out worlds!
@GamerThumbTV

To add on, the Alimbics never even figured out where Gorea came from or what it was. It just...appeared. So who knows if there's more like it out there.

This game gives me the same vibes as Federation Force, especially SomeCallMeJohnny's review where he makes a commercial skit for a toy line. I can imagine it "Metroid Prime Hunters are on the loose and bounty hunter Samus Aran must stop them! Metroid Prime: Hunters from Hasbro. Each sold separately!" I've tried to emulate this game with no luck, it's so awkward to use a mouse as the touch screen so I finally see what's this game is all about, thank you! This and FF are the only ones I haven't seen a playthrough or a speed run.

I wouldn't say the other Hunters left the Alimbic Cluster/Tetra Galaxy empty handed, the worlds and tech the Alimbics left behind are pretty much up for grabs, and since it's outside of Galactic Federation controlled Space the Hunters belonging to the other factions/groups would likely report their findings upon their return and Forces like the Space Pirates, Kriken Empire, maybe even the Vhozon could send agents/squads to collect and study what was left to claim after the events of the game. Sure Samus would report her findings to the Galactic Federation as well but again outside of their jurisdiction. Plenty of potential for another game set there though.

Only issue is I don't see any confirmation for Weavel being sent on behalf of the Space Pirates as a whole. He might be acting on his own during the story.
@GamerThumbTV
@GamerThumbTV 2 жыл бұрын
The game keeps it vague but it's easy to assume based on previous Space Pirate lore. Space Pirates had a very hive mind mentality, usually following whoever was leader. They've never really been shown to behave independently.
@AICW
@AICW 2 жыл бұрын
@@GamerThumbTV I actually question that "hive mind" issue. That was brought up in the manga and Other M and I don't buy either of them. The manga itself shows Pirates aren't a hive mind since there are individuals capable of free thought. There are plenty of scans in the Prime games where Pirates are very critical of their leadership (hence the famous "Science Team has vapor for brains" meme) and have to be disciplined with cuts to their pay and rations. That should not be possible in a hive mind. In Prime 3, when the majority of the Pirates are entranced in Dark Samus's Phazon cult (so they basically are in a hive mind thanks to Phazon brainwashing), they still have to execute troops who are disloyal or insubordinate. Prime 3 scan data also shows Pirate society has classes, slavery, and criminal activity within it. This is no Zerg Horde we're talking about here. The Other M issue was explained out of universe by a trophy in Super Smash Bros 4 (the Wii U version) where the Zebesian trophy said the cyborg Pirates in Other M were artificial clones specifically bioengineered to be emotionless and unintelligent. There is more than enough evidence to show the Pirates aren't a hive mind. If anything, all the talk about Pirates needing a "strong leader" is probably more in the sense how the Mongols needed Genghis Khan to lead them: they need someone who can unify them and make them a serious threat to outsiders, instead of being a chaotic flock of nomads who can't pose a real threat due to disorganization.
@numbug1234
@numbug1234 2 жыл бұрын
@@AICW iirc the official lore is that the space pirates are a collection of species, and the hive mind thing is specifically the Zebesians (the main ones in the 2d games and the manga, which iirc they were named that *because* they conquered Zebes, and if iidrc then I will be the first to say it's stupid). Given that we can't *see* any organic parts of Weavel, and that his legs can function as a stationary turret, it's completely ambiguous which specific species he is,and by extention if this hive mind even applies or not.
@AICW
@AICW 2 жыл бұрын
