Metzler. The absolute leaders in organ building in the 1960s. Only Kuhn could match them. I was influenced by the recordings of Lionel Rogg on this organ. A visit to Switzerland is a must for any organ connoisseur.

Thank You for taking the time to document each rank and division! What a tremendous learning tool for those of us without access to a real pipe organ!

I was a pupil of Pierre Segond at the Geneva Conservatoire during 1975-76 and had the opportunity to play the organ at St. Pierre quite a bit. The demonstration brings back many memories of this beautiful instrument.

The only stop I didn't like was the two rank cymbale in the Echo division. Too shrill and high pitched for my liking. If i was playing there I would avoid that stop, but there are plenty of other resources at hand, and overall the organ sounds magnificent.

Another excellent tonal tour, showcasing this beautiful instrument. Thank you Balint for this video. I think, what I love most about your videos, are your musical examples & improvisations highlighting the wonderful sounds of each stop. It is very interesting and so delightful to hear!!😊🌺🎶✨🌷

That casework was designed by Poul-Gerhard Andersen, who wrote the excellent book Organ Building and Design. I knew I recognised it from somewhere.

Another masterpiece of Organ building. Thank you so much for a fascinating demonstration. Metzler build such superb instruments, which are clear, colourful, subtle and majestic, and this opus must be one of their finest. I love the case, which blends perfectly with the austere but magnificently simple cathedral interior. Once this corvid pandemic has passed, I will make a special trip from my home here in the UK to Switzerland.

The Metzler sound. Nice to have the trumpets and the big reeds. A rather interesting organ to play! First time I could mention that your registration could have used a little help. The left hand part needed to be a little more prominent in this piece. Having heard it quite a few times on french baroque organs I am used to the prominence that can be created when necessary! Thinking about the stops that you had at your finger tips, it may have been a conscious choice to bury the left hand. Thanks for your sharing of the video. I always enjoy listening to the organs that you feature.

I’m so happy to have finally heard more of this fabulous organ. And now absolutely for sure I hope to visit this cathedral and organ and it’s acoustics. ! Heard it in a recording by E. P. Biggs when In high school.

Precioso, pensé... , que exagerado tanta tubería, pero es extraordinario, todas las escalas son brillantes y de sonido cristalino y metálico a la vez ,sonido de cuerdas metálicas increíble, creo que es perfecto, gracias.
