FYI, the policy for the tablet in Erie is that between the Video Goal Judge and the Clock Operator, they must check the tablet an hour prior to puck drop to ensure that it is working and that it is fully charged. Also, they must check and make sure that the headset is working as well.

With regards to invites and snubs to world junior camps I always think of this quote. “I’m not looking for the best players. I’m looking for the right ones” - Herb Brooks, 1980 USA Olympic Team Head Coach

Some interesting points on guys not getting invited to the World Juniors. I can see some of the reasons but like you say hope they have scoring when they need it. I have heard that Cowen is invited but not playing as a precautionary thing, but did he not just sit out for London as a precaution and then play again? I am not sure I understand why you invite a player that in not going to play. On a side note I don't feel bad for London having players away for the World Juniors. I don't have time for that LOL. I have 2 favorite teams. Kitchener Rangers and anyone that can beat the Knights.

Kalamazoo already has Western Michigan in the NCAA and the K-Wings in the ECHL. Not sure they could support an OHL team in addition to the 2 teams that are already there.

k'zoo would drop from echl to ohl. k'zoo looked at ohl when leaving ihl in '10 before joining echl.

Micheal Misa going to the NCAA when he almost certainly will be offered his pro-debut by whoever drafts him is interesting. It's not unheard of for a player to stay in college for one more year, instead of playing just a few NHL games and then being unable to return to school, but as a CHL player Misa gets to make his debut and try to earn a place in the lineup while still being able to be sent down if he's not quite ready.

@@ethanwiebe6010 it's a tantalizing rumour but hard to see it being much more than that.

that makes no sense. once in college there is no chl eligibility or 9 game nhl look nor can nhl send player down. and misa would get the nhl 9 game look. and misa is going nowhere. why go to bu getting 4th line minutes when you can get nhl ecl?

Kalamazoo would be a home run for the OHL the K Wings of the ECHL always have great support and as do the Western Michigan University Broncos men’s hockey team, they are building a new arena downtown the only issue is 4 teams sharing one arena would be too much the university hockey team and basketball team and the ECHL team are slated to share this arena already, now both the K wings and broncos home rinks would be suitable for a pinch they are currently subpar for OHL arenas and a new rink or a huge remodel would be nessary to bring those rinks up to league standard I can assure you that filling the seats in Kalamazoo will not be an issue as at the university teams rink students are often lined up outside the rink 2 hours before doors open in the winter

its not about another team in k'zoo. its about k'zoo dropping from echl to ohl. had ohl interest in 2010 when left ihl.

A Michael Misa “deal” with Boston University would be a NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal.

Historically that hasn't been allowed due to work permit restrictions for Canadians. We'll see how the landscape changes.

soo fan here. i believe martin deserved a minor penalty. i don't believe it was a 5 minute, and i don't believe it was suspendable.
@TheOHLPodcast11 күн бұрын
@@lucasschmiedendorf2669 I get it. What else would you think as a Soo fan? It's a tough one for sure. One of the things we always want to see guys do is finish checks. The outcome of this one didn't help Martin's cause.
@lucasschmiedendorf266911 күн бұрын
@@TheOHLPodcast agreed, although i always try to view things without the "red n white" coloured glasses. many soo fans felt it was a legal check, but i more agree with what you said on the pod - there's an argument to be made that it was late and on a guy in a vulnerable place in relation to the boards. i'm on record on the soo fan forums as saying that with 30 seconds left in a tie game, that hit was probably unnecessary because it didn't separate a player from the puck, it was purely intended to level an opposition player, and it ultimately cost us the game (plus suspensions/fine to Dean and Martin).

misa is going nowhere. nor are spirit trading misa. why go to bu getting 4th line minutes when you can go top 3 nhl draft and get elc? just ncaa trying to get their grubby hands on every canadian jr now that means nothing. they dream of nhl, not ncaa. or misa is pining for a trade to pre-season contender steelheads to play with his brother like mcleods did..
