Finally, people who understand the benefits of mid-engine geometry, and understand that the Corvette has been mid-engine for decades. If the center of mass of the engine rests between the axle lines, it's mid-engine, and the Vette has been this for a very, very long time. Open the hood of a C7, for instance. There's a reason the engine is so far back into the firewall. Perhaps more importantly, the switch to mid-rear engine for the C8 wasn't for traction purposes. Matt Farah and Doug Demuro laughably don't understand this. I'll offer a clue, in case somebody wants to fill in the KZbinrs: polar moment of inertia. When mass is distributed out toward the end, it's harder to induce turning. When mass is concentrated at the center, turning is much, much easier. So, the reason the C8 is now mid-engine, even though it was before, too: to improve handling. Not traction. The traction bonus is just that, a bonus. It's frustrating to hear these massively popular KZbinrs guess, and guess wrong, and just repeat what other KZbinrs say, like a troupe of uneducated parrots all chirping the same nonsense. It's refreshing to come here to see people who actually know what they're doing. My hat is off to y'all.
