It's about damn time that attitudes about different boards are opening up and coming around. Increase the enjoyment, decrease the frustration.

Hello. I've always wondered whether to buy a mid-length board, 7'4 or 7'6. I know there is very little difference, but I've often wondered what advice you, as an expert, could give me. I'm 181 cm tall, weigh 85 kg, and am an intermediate level surfer. Thanks.

Best board I ever had was a 7'6" creative design. Super light finally pressure dinged out. Should have kept it for the shape.

Where do you ride your mid-length surfboard?

Everywhere ! I think what you missed is that when surfing at breaks where it use-to-be logs only you can get waves with a a mid. Yes really young talented people can usually steel a couple at these places by catching waves on a shallow inside boil but the larger waves usually go wide. That's why mids are the go at those places. Secondly, when waves get double over head a start slopey, mids give you a much longer ride. For these types of conditions I increase the size if my trailer however but boards over about 7'2 should have mid size fins. Theygo better than large fins. Most people use fins that are to large for there mids. They think that bigger boards need larger fins, WRONG.

This new mid-length trend is awesome because there are way more people out in the line-up. I now have more people to chat with while waiting for the sets.
