"Why Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave." I love how this is not only a badass threat, but also literal as Ringo is about to die on the same spot, and as he is surprised to see Holliday there instead of Earp, the expression on his face truly predicts his fate. This is your end, Johnny! Great line.

I just thought of this but I imagine that Val Kilmer and Michael Biehn had a blast playing opposite one another in so many scenes, the long build to that final confrontation, two talented and trained actors facing off again and again. I think Biehn is underrated, he gets overshadowed by Kilmer entirely but honestly his Johnny Ringo is a great performance as well, a lot of unique qualities and personification.

Called a curse in the cradle Loving mother, unstable Daddy gone, under the table But you found a song in your heart So you learned how to fight, how to starve, how to survive When the others blocked your light you learned to see beyond the stars The curse of small desires Easily acquired It's time to set your gasoline heart on fire Kill your demons, kill 'em dead In your mirror, in your bed In your heart, in your head Don't you look good in red? Slay your devils, kill 'em all Take your throne, paint the walls And if you make it out alive, hold that bloody head up high Don't you look good in red? Don't you look good in red? Is there more beyond those plains? You cut your hair, changed your name Left a note as you escaped To thine own self be true But there was no gold in those hills, no platinum in those pretty pills Just werewolves tossing dollar bills and the wine dark sea of Malibu The curse of small desires Easily acquired It's time to set your gasoline heart on fire Kill your demons, kill 'em dead In your mirror, in your bed In your heart, in your head Don't you look good in red? Slay your devils, kill 'em all Take your throne, paint the walls And if you make it out alive, hold that bloody head up high Don't you look good in red? Don't you look good in red? No one's coming to save you No one's coming to save you Swing that sword that you made With the pain that they gave you Like the pain is gonna save you Kill your demons, kill 'em dead In your mirror, in your bed In your heart, in your head Don't you look good in red? Slay your devils, kill 'em all Take your throne, paint the walls And if you make it out alive, hold that bloody head up high

My favorite Doc sass line: "Maybe Poker's not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest!" which finally sends Ike over the edge. He has so many great lines and Kilmer absolutely brings perfection to every line and movement of this character. "Why, I've not yet begun to defile myself!" lol. So sad what happend to Val. The new doc about his is 50/50 brilliant/cringe
@digitalgravityy3 жыл бұрын
I love before that line, when Ike makes a comment accusing Doc of cheating, so Doc says, "why Ike! What ever do you mean?" He was always just so ready for a fight lol.

@@CSM100MK2 Exactly! I watched Top Gun and nothing impressed me his way, but after this film I've found myself seeling out more Val. Though I've heard thats his top tier acting and nothing compares, so maybe I shouldnt.

@@digitalgravityy I can confidently say, in all of Kilmer's controversial career, there is no greater combination of Val Style Performance meets Well Made Movie. Which is surprising, because Tombstone apparently had devastating issues during filming, and it was actually Kurt Russel stepping in behind scenes acting as impromptu director just to get shit done because of his extensive experience, and he really should be credited with a directing credit supposedly with his strong involvement in making the movie work after complicated studio hold ups and such. In short, it's amazing this movie got completed, Kurt Russel took over in late filming to get it finished and set up shots and filming schedules, and somehow it's edited so perfectly you'd never know. Except maybe the rushed empty epilogue conclusion. I learned in the recent Prime documentary VAL that he asked to lay on top of ice during his deathbed scene with Wyatt. the dude is kinda crazy, ABSOLUTELY narcissistic if you watch his documentary, but singularly talented AF and should have had a much greater career. sadly marked by being passed over by cuter actors and developing a reputation for being hard to work with. check out the doc, it's new! Did u know Val has recently survived cancer but now has to talk through a tube in his throat? He's literally lost is iconic one of a kind voice and ability to perform/ express the same way. tragic.
@docholliday17023 жыл бұрын

Was this your first time seeing this movie??? I've been obsessed with this since maybe middle school! I got a lot of TV reruns in my area over the years....Kurt Russel is amazing but seriously, Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday... just incredible. I've cetainly grown to enjoy the movie more and more over of the years. ending is weak but i guess what could the do, it wraps up clean. As far as I'm concerned the greatest scene is Doc's deathbed. Bill Paxton had such a diverse career when you consider it, and he was always great, a true blend of character actor and lead, he knew how to fit into an ensemble and when to take his moments. For an actor that's a very respected quality, what a legend. RIP. And with your new Twister video, and Aliens....he was great, all very different roles

Oh yeah. I've been watching a ton of him lately and just last night I watched Frailty, highly recommend! Saw a funny comment about him the other day. "The only actor To fight/be killed by a predator, terminator & xenomorph"
@CSM100MK22 жыл бұрын
@@digitalgravityy actually not quite true....Lance Hendrickson was a police lieutenant killed in The Terminator, was killed by a Predator in 2004 Aliens vs Predator....and the debate comes from his role as Bishop in Aliens, whether he was truly killed by the Xenomorph Queen since he's just an Android but he seems pretty killed to me in the long run. So in any case, the Bill Paxton thing is wholely inaccurate but nonetheless a cool detail about his career being in classic sci Fi films.
