@@charlockprime That's a tough one to answer. It's a big lake. We fished the Winnipeg Beach area about 20 times and always did great. We had trouble some days catching eaters. That's the kind problem you want. Got one master this summer. We also fished out from Hecla opening weekend and once in late season. Fishing was EPIC both times.

When you're "pant legging it" just make two tiny cuts on either side of the bone line (on the thin end of the fillet) then use your hands to just rip it, it naturally rips very close to the bones all the way up, so you're wasting less meat.

Epic ice fishing. Makes me realize how spoiled we are out west where the walleye are invasive. Winnipeg is God's country for walleye and it would probably be easier to catch a giant walleye in downtown tri cities WA. I anticipate somebody on Pend Oreille breaking the world record.

I previously bashed ice fishing - however this looks legit fun. I don't know how comfortable I'd be with a 2000lb room/snowmobile on ice, but as long as it's at least a couple feet thick then I guess it's probably safe. Still a mental pucker factor though...
@Prairietrucker2 жыл бұрын
Right now lake Winnipeg has 24 to 30 inches of ice and by March it can have over 4 feet of ice. The Snobear is pretty light and they float if they do break through on thin ice.
