Great video, nice not having too much snow on the lake. A lot of places in MN right now are having problems with too much snow creating slush problems or keeping the ice kind of thin.

Too bad Manitoba let the commercial net fisherman over fish the lake. 2016 we had 7 guys and 84 walleyes over 26" and everyone caught one over 29". 2017 half that. 2018 was about the same as the year before. 2019 was maybe 10 over 28". 2020, the last year we went, one person had 3 fish over 29", but that was it for the big fish. In those four years we only kept 2 of the big fish, none of the smaller fish. The more the restrictions were loosened on the commercial guys, the fishing just got worse. We werent going back because we can catch the eaters at home anytime so the covid problem didnt matter. You may still catch a big one up there, and I will be watching for news about the fishing up there, but the commercial fisherman ruined and it is going to hurt the local business owners economics far more than the commercial industry economics will make up. Most visitors dont take the fish out of the lake. The commercial guys kill everything the gill net catches.

Every thing of swapping your real paddles like for my rod on my right side of me I reel with my left hand, for my rod on my left side of me I reel with my right hand. I find it helps, don’t have to swap hands after setting the hook. just an idea for ye

Some serious aggression from these fish. It didn't seem like you had to coax any of them - they were all just cruising in and smashing it. What a dream!

Be honest it's called green back walleye because of the American fisherman that that one species drawn in and if you want to tell the difference between sager and walleye is if you rub the cheeks of either fish a walleye will be just like you do after a real clean shave and a sugar will feel like you do with a 5 oclock shadow just try it

You Canadian’s along with the British are so wishy washy on usage of the metric and imperial systems. One minute you say there’s 65kph winds and then you go to say 30 inch walleye. Brits love using MPH but say they’re many many kilometers away from their destination. Pick a lane and stay in it. lol
@JaySiemens2 жыл бұрын
The North American fishing world is by Pounds and inches. I use km when talking about weather and speed because that’s what the weather networks and traffic laws are in.
