15:44 Actually, the reason Ekoro feels like a DLC character is because she WAS a DLC character when the game originally released on the 3DS and Switch, and is only part of the base roster in the Steam and PS4 versions.

@@MagsIsGaming I think Burst is Inti's compensation for the failure of MN9, so they added all MN9 robots into this. As for the title, they just used the title of the previous one on PS.

14:02 They actually do have gameplay differences! But they're so hard to find that I only know about it from reading a guide. Essentially each shot type has more options in some customisation category, like the missiles being able to have "large" explosions while the others can only have "average" at most

6:20 mighty gunvolt came at the same time as gunvolt 1 and if you bought gunvolt 1 when it came out in 3ds they gave you a copy of mighty gunvolt for free. Also all that time since 2014, 10 freaking years and i didnt know the game had 4 extra stages i found out by accident the other day while presing random inputs in the stage selection menu.

The extra stages of the original mighty gunvolt were originaly DLC for the 3ds, the first version of the game, also the ost of this game have 8 bit remixes of the other sumeragi bosses stages from gv1 so maybe it was intended to have all main 7 bosses and levels at some point

Although the bullet customization system is the biggest shining point of this game, it also reduces the uniqueness of different characters, at least they become very homogenous in terms of attack abilities. For example, they changed special weapons to have only weaknesses but no functional differences, and they removed Ekoro's ability to turn enemies into allies. I actually prefer the character gameplay of the first MG game.

7:14 I'm not sure how you got the wires crossed here, but "Mighty Gunvolt Burst" was the original name on the Switch release. I'm guess they changed it to Gal*Gunvolt for the PS4 release because the mere mention of Mighty No. 9 scared people away from buying it?

yeah, I definitely should have looked deeper into that point - I assumed that the ps4 version was the original rather than its own distinct thing (and someone else already pointed out that ekoro was dlc in the original release as well). thanks for correction I’d hope the name change was more to advertise ekoro becoming part of the base roster rather than an aversion to mighty no. 9
