I like when Shere Khan sings in the deleted movie and in That’s What friends are for in the regular movie

this song is a great example of the rivalry between man and beast. back when we were just evolving in Africa predators where every ware from the Smilodon relative Megantereon to the crocodile's anthropophagus and thorbjarnarsoni. but when we first started making weapons to fight back slowly but surely, we became the apex predator. and now millions of years later the rivalry still continues.

I have a theory that the reason these two hate each other so much is because Buldeo more than likely killed Shere khan’s mother when he was just a cub, and the tiger in turn killed the hunter’s brother (aka Mowgli’s father). Anybody else agree?
@TommyBoggs-cq4te11 ай бұрын
After that, the tiger killed Buldeo to take his rightful place in the jungle.
@vetarlittorf180710 ай бұрын
No. Because Mowgli was born in a city far outside the jungle (most likely Nagpur) and his parents died in a flood, the same flood that washed Mowgli into the jungle. That's why Bagheera found Mowgli in a boat.

I can see why they cut this as they did change a lot of the direction in the film.it's also indicative of the time period in which this movie was created, and that would limit its appeal as the movie aged.
@BlazeHeartPanther Жыл бұрын
I mean, if anything, it would've gained its own cult of fan base if it were to go down the original Bill Pete draft if done very well. Walt wanted to be more involved with after Sword and the Stone didn't do well (Both films as well as 1010 Dolmatians being entirely storyboarded by Pete) Walt just didn't like the direction that Pete wanted to take the movie and so after heavy arguments, Bill ended up leaving Disney and they ended up starting over in many ways. The only thing t survive from the original story was the "Bare Necessities" song that Terry Gilkinson wrote and Walt had the Sherman Brothers retool it a bit to fit their style of song writing
@vetarlittorf180710 ай бұрын
@@BlazeHeartPantherI disagree. The Jungle Book was already a classic story and was pretty well known by the public. Walt regretted having Alice in Wonderland close to the source material because the audience's familiarity with the book hurt the movie (same thing happened to Treasure Planet). So he made the right choice giving The Jungle Book its own identity. That way it stands out from other adaptations and ages better. And I say this as a huge fan of the books.
@disneyboy30308 ай бұрын
@@BlazeHeartPanther well some other elements did survive as well.
@jasonvazquez86526 ай бұрын
@@vetarlittorf1807 I don't think so. Had Walt stuck with this version, it could've been a truly epic and interesting film. It would've explored the dark elements of living in the jungle and the conflicts between man and beast. And with all due respect, he didn't make the right choice because, compared to the book it's based on, it fails in comparison. The only thing the final Disney version has over the book is Shere Khan's character. But BlazeHeartPanther is right. If Walt had done the right thing and just left the story telling to Bill Peet, then not only would the movie have gained a huge cult fanbase like THOND, but the entire franchise would've been completely different as a whole.

(It should also be noted that Khan has been a primary target for human hunter’s for years, and Buldeo may have been the main one chasing after him.
