The Mighty powerful CLASS 60 unseen collection 2021

A collection of filming I have done over the last few months of this great powerful loco.
I would like to see more of them which are stored at Toton back working on the mainline.
This video is for a fan and friend who loves this class of loco, hope this video is ok for your Matthew.

From the many conversations I have been lucky enough to have with old hand drivers, it seems after the most popular class ever (45) the 60's were also highly rated, with a number of drivers telling me if they couldn't get their loaded train uphill from whatever colliery they were trying to depart from due to traction/wheel-slip issues, invariably a class 60 would be sent to rescue them. Alas it is one of my greatest regrets that I was never lucky enough to drive either class.....

I really enjoyed this one. Shame that DB are retiring theirs but I hope they will pass over to DCR and GBRF for future use. Well I am happy to hear that DCR are putting more of their into service from what I hear and hopefully DCR will gain the Colnbrook to Lindsey workings and the Kingsbury to Lindsey workings from DB and Colas.

Great footage as always, Mike, it's great to see the mighty 60's. The last British built diesel locomotives. They should have built many more instead of the 66's. They should all be working instead of many being stored unusable. We don't get many in Scotland, I used to see the occasional one, but now it's mostly 66's. I see a 70 some mornings and a 56 works out of Grangemouth too.

very good loco's and would have been amazing if the engine had been more reliable, more power than the early 66's that EWS brought. shame that more time and money wasn't put into these and the 56/58's for more time and use out of them

Perhaps with an EMD engine? (Though I have heard that an EMD engine couldn't be fitted into one; how about a Caterpillar?)
