This presentation was tons of fun and I like lots of the choices they made. Not all of the performances were great but enough were that I really enjoyed it. Thanks much for posting.

This is the funniest version I have ever seen. Obviously done in the humor intended by Gilbert and Sullivan to start with..

To those who say that this is not what G&S intended, remember why they made the Mikado in the first place - the entertain and "take the piss" out of society. I am certain it is understood that a lot has changed since the 1800's, therefore I am sure they would understand modernisation of their works, so long as people can be educated about and enjoy them. Afterall, they revolutionised/scandalised the Opera world with their works first with the hidden jibes at society

1 actor I was surprised that like Jon English wasn't in all 3 productions was Drew Forsythe I know that Derek Metzger did an awesome job as the Major General but just thought how he'd played older roles in both Mikado and Pinafore would've in Pirates too.

I know this is 10 years later but, how did it go? And I'm not trying to funny. I'm a huge G&S fan, and I like to know others' experiences with them.

Man, that is racist... and kinda accurate. In Japanese L and R are the same sound.

Charles Jones--racist comments are based on stereotypes, not truths. If, in Japanese, l and r are the same sound and literally interchangeable, then that is NOT racist.

Dear kazzles79, it is in fact an operreta, not a musical. They've actually added a few lines for comedic effect, and changed an entire role (or augmented it I should say) , which are funny, but this particular production I highly doubt is near what Gilbert & Sullivan intended. Especially in terms of vocal quality, which is quite bad. But all that aside, it IS good and entertaining.
