I'm a big guy and in a low rise iwb kydex with 15 degree cant, this will be my edc. I love how balanced it feels. The grip is exactly right for my hands. The ridiculous 1/2 circle cut out on the front strap is gone. The finger grooves that never matched my knuckle spacing are gone. This Glock for me, is perfection.

I love this gun. Thanks to it I’m a proud first time glock owner :-) people forget that it’s not innovative at all. It’s a commander. If you like commander style 1911 like me, you might like this gun. I love it.

First time Glock owner as well with the 19X. Had my heart set on the 19 and then the guy in the shop told me to check it out and I happened to love the Coyote Tan finish but when I actually held it I knew it was one I'd be getting. Not a carry weapon for me, home defense only, so the idea of a longer grip was a actually a bonus to me as it felt great in my hands. I still love the G19 but it was just a hair short in my hand...as in the grip was more comfortable with my pinky actually off the bottom and against the magazine cover

To me, this pistol would be the ultimate duty Glock, with a full sized grip to hold onto and a reduced length barrel to allow it to clear the holster as fast as possible. I think the folks who are complaining about it simply don't understand the idea behind it. When I was a patrol officer, I appreciated a four inch barrel on my duty weapon as the holster didn't dig into the seat of my squad car as bad as a longer barrel did. But a full sized grip was preferred as I have big hands and a regular G19 is not as big as I like. To each their own.

They didn't get the contract because the gun didn't meet the requirements needed for the tests. Its also way to expensive to be a standard military issued sidarm. Also the US millitary didn't want a single platform pistol with little to no modification possible and the Sig P320 is a moduler platform and can be customized for any field, use, and platform. The chasis is so easy to change up and add on to that its pretty amazing. Also even S&W, and berretta made better sidarms than the glock 17x lol its just another glock.

They will consider the lower cost as advertising. If the military selects an item, it’s automatically GOOD!

@@almayfield842 actually, the price for the Sig is more in line with what striker fired guns are worth. Glock just charges as much as they do based entirely on the name and marketing hype. Not because it is a better gun. Lots of manufacturers make striker fired guns that are as good or better at a much lower price. Look at the CZ P10 for example. Better trigger, sights, reliability, ergonomics etc for under $400. In fact, the only reason to actually get a Glock is to get the name. Otherwise you can get better for less. You can build an entire Glock from aftermarket parts and save money just by not having the Glock name and logo on it. It certainly isn't for the service, even Hi-Point has a better warranty.

Just installed the 3lb Yikes Connector on my new G19X & OMG! The "mooshy sloopyness" is gone & now she's pulling around 3.1lb - 3.5lb no mooshy just a nice short wall, crisp break & nice short reset. Amazing how much difference a simple connector will make.

As someone who prefers a Glock 17 for carry, the shorter slide is an ideal setup for me. Funny how folks act like this is a new concept as Sig and Springfield have been making short barrel full grip guns for a long time. Not to mention the 1911 Commander

Beauty is in the eye of the Gun-Holder.... I too am a Glock fan.... and a Ruger fan... and a S&W fan... and a Sig fan! I love my Glock 17 & 19... but... I am so accurate with my 19X... that it is my favorite range gun... and it will be my favorite "Winter Carry Gun"... in the summer time I will go back to my Sig P938 or my S&W M&P Shield!

I retrofitted my G17 with a Ghost trigger connector and did what some people call a $.25 trigger job. It's not the BEST trigger compared to some of the newer guns like the XDM, but it's no longer annoying. Love my Glock. It's a great gun.

A guy at the range had one today and there were about 6 people crowded around watching him shoot it. I was shooting my gen3 19 in the lane next to him and he let me shoot a few rounds. Pretty sweet shooting gun & nice trigger, but I couldn’t get over the baby-barf color!

The Kentucky Colonel down in Indinana is dissapointed with the 19X because he wanted a collectable authentic military manual safety version that was intended for the military. I think the Colonel does not see that Glock realizes that they can sell more 19X Pistols to the civilian market if they market a 19X, without the military required manual safety, over a 19X version that has an "authentic" collectable manuall safety.

Military Glock rejection may have been a blessing in disguise. EVERY small arms weapon that has been put to (military) use has been criticized. Glock can sell @ better prices is one of many benefits. I’ve read that Glock 19 manufacturing costs are less than $8.00 USD.

I like the 19X. I bought one because I wanted a Gen 5 but already had a Gen 4 17. So the 19X was something a little different with the compact slide/full size frame, the coyote color, and the night sights, so I bought one. Really liking it so far. I didn't expect it to feel much different but it seems to balance a little better than the G17, maybe it's just in my head. Plus it shoots great.

The color is actually great for cleaning- you can see where you've missed in the small nooks in the frame and around the muzzle. And the Gen 5 19 slide must be very different from the Gen 3 19 slide because there's no way a Gen 3 19 slide lines up with the 19X frame. It's more appropriate to say the the 19X slide is the same LENGTH as the 19 slide. The ambidextrous slide release makes disassembly/reassembly easier and there's one less pin. Another plus- steel night sights that are actually quite good compared to the 19's.

It is kinda cool being able to see the gun powder residue on the slide and magazines which makes it so much easier to clean, visually at least. I didnt realize how much gunpowder gets all over the magazines since all my mags were black prior to having the FDE mags. I started wiping more of my mags off now

This pistol Carrie’s just as easy as the 19 for me in the appendix fashion. I didn’t think it was a good idea at first, but now that I own one I am convinced. It basically the same grip length as a p320 compact anyway. Line them up…you’ll see

The milspec for a service handgun is simply a matter of size and durability. All of them have very similar accuracy and ergonomics. The rest is the endurance test and of course the under the table payola. The later is always the main factor.

John I've paid down on a slightly used Sig 226 Navy pistol, however I have had a couple of glock pistols and like the ease of takedown and simplicity, I'll get the Sig out of layaway by Labor Day, however there is a new 19X they have that is the same cost so I'm havin second thoughts on rather to get the 226 or take the new 19X, I bought the 226 just to have a Sig, which would you choose, all opinions welcome, thank you.

gone rydin just stick with the gen 4 mags and you will be fine me and my hubby both carry the 19x for open carry and it’s perfect for that and it’s really not a bad pistol by any means it’s different and works plus it’s nice to have a cleaner trigger but aside from that it’s great for any “tactical” type carry and open carry for conceal carry though eh depends on the person

It wasn't modular, the ergonomics were lower rated, it was not more dependable, they had worse support in parts and ammo supply wasn't as good. If the price had been the same, Sig would still have won. Saving us 37% was just a bonus.
