A very poor quality copy of this is already on KZbin so I have uploaded this to give people a better copy to watch.
In August 2008, a devastating fire raged at a Shropshire mansion. As the flames engulfed Osbaston House, mystery surrounded the disappearance of Christopher Foster, his wife Jill and 15-year-old daughter Kirstie.
What started out as a fire became a double-murder, suicide and arson investigation that would shock Britain. As vital evidence went up in smoke before their eyes, the police were faced with a number of conspiracy theories and a frenzy of press speculation about the Fosters’ fate.
With exclusive access to the West Mercia police’s painstaking investigation and interviews with close friends and family members, The Millionaire and the Murder Mansion charts the complex jigsaw puzzle involving pathologists, forensic anthropologists, and arson, ballistics and CCTV specialists.
Interspersed with the detailed investigation are the emotional interviews with family members and friends who provide an insight into the dark secrets and many sides of the apparently doting husband and father who committed this horrific crime.

As a narcissist, Chris Foster wasn't about to let anyone have his home, his things, his horses, his dogs, his family. They were all property and a narcissist hates to lose more than anything.

You don’t do what he did to people you love…he was a control freak…even to the end…when he made the decision for two other people to die…he was greedy and although in huge debt had to keep up the facade…what a tragic waste of life…and the animals as well…it speaks volumes of the type of person he really was…

I don't care what sort of pressure a person is under, I have been under financial stress many times, you don't murder your loved ones. Only psychopathic selfish bastards do that. Well there is a reason why Andrew didn’t speak to Chris, like Andrew states he was abusive. He was greedy, self centred, arrogant, and mean spirited. He knew his clever wife would leave him if she knew the extent of chaos he brought to his family. So being the greedy jerk he was he took their lives as well!! Mind-blowing!! The mother of course is in denial, like Andrew said she needs time to accept her son was a a@@hole!!

Almost at the end of this video his mother say : "He killed them because he loved them". This statement is something one says out of refusing that one's flesh and blood can do something that monstrous. In my humble opinion I believe that what drove this man to commit such crime, was the idea that his immediate family will abandon him when he couldn't be the main provider any longer. The money these people expend on stuff they didn't really needed was enough to make several families very happy for many years to come. Instead that was the mismanagement of it that sealed their destiny. Very sad end for a family that had everything they wanted but real trust on each other. From Toronto my heart goes to the people whom loved them.

He never considered that they were individuals with wishes and plans of their own and that they would rather be alive but poor. They would have wanted to live. Good point and many times it is also the person's temperament and how their mind works. She is protecting herself/her mind by not completely coming to terms with his evil actions....'he took their lives BUT he loved them' As humans we have a way of protecting ourselves when things do not work out; the mind can play some tricks. For instance, some parents whose child have been abused/rape due to the lack of power to safe their child they can turn against the child and indicate that it was their fault. Thus, this is a SELF- protective method. It takes emotional maturity, resilience to accept major catastrophic events in life and it seems this lady lacks that.

@yankeetherebel Жыл бұрын
@@noreenclarke5523 Who is this "they" you speak of? I watch a lot of true crime and the only time I see people putting blame on the killer's mother is when the mother is clearly to blame for excusing, enabling and encouraging her child's bad behavior. There's nothing "unfair" about blaming someone for something when they're guilty of it. And in this case, the mother is definitely guilty of excusing her son's behavior and therefore blaming her for doing what she's clearly doing is 100% fair.

They were about to lose it all though. The mother and daughter likely were not aware of how bad it was. The house and everything in it was burnt to the ground on Monday, bailiffs turned up on Tuesday. He would have known that, that he was about to have all his assets taken. If you read the reports about it, over £3m in assets were frozen prior to this and he owed £1m in unpaid taxes to HMRC. He was going to be reduced to nothing and bankrupt. He clearly valued his lifestyle more than his family.

He never loved his wife nor his daughter. He owned them. He did not want them to see him for the loser (fake successful person) he is. Another case, where a husband pretended to be rich and then when his lie collapsed, he decided to end his wife and kids BEFORE they find out and confront him/leave(?). This one ended himself too. His family is in denial. I'm not surprised that his brother thinks that there must have been some guilt, but there was none. He wanted it to look like he was a victim of a random fire too... His brother needs a therapy. As for their parents... the mother seems very delusional, maybe cold-hearted. She does not want to see, who her son really was. I saw only two emphatic people in the family - the brother and the father.

Yes Parents will always love their children, but that does not mean you agree when they do things of this nature, there is NO excuse for what he did to them, none what so ever, if he had taken his own life or just ran away and left them alive he wasnt rational by any means, if he had loved them then there would be no way on the face of this earth that he would have hurt them, you do not hurt the ones you love, but thats my own opinion, i feel sorry for his brother because as i watched the wedding video and his brother was speaking the look on the grooms face said it all, it was a look of "omg why are you even here" just a look of just shut up really, you could see it in his eyes, he had to be or pretend to be better than anyone else, and thats not right.

This is not that uncommon ito motivation. In South Africa, in the 80s and 90s, quite a number of Afrikaner family murders took place, during which the father was the perpetrator. When they did studies on this, they found that it was almost always due to financial difficulties and that the father being the head of the family, the main breadwinner, felt an odd compulsion to do this. In the months leading up to the killings, the father would be under tremendous stress, trying to find a solution to his financial worries. But the debt would be just too overwhelming. And ultimately the solution would be to kill himself. However, this would leave his remaining family behind to deal with the aftermath, including the still outstanding debt and the shame of what their husband and father had done. They would have to deal with the remaining family, friends and neighbours gossiping and perhaps rejoicing that he’d lost it all. Everyone would have realised that had lived above his means, that he was a failur. His wife and daughter would need to save face and have to move in with family or friends etc He would not be able provide for them in the death. So the final solution would be to kill them too, so they would have not to deal with the fall out. Apparently once this decision was reached , the months long stress would go away. The calm would return because now there was a plan. He had a solution, a way to get out of it. Not saying any of this is right, but it was found to be the motivating factors in this study made

Money, root of all evil. You just never know what money can make people do. If he was going to be poor, lost his company, in debt, after living a certain lifestyle, he just lost control on reality and I suppose couldn’t let his family suffer in humiliation for being penniless. It’s a tough one. People just don’t know what their own limits are, and it’s very easy 20/20 to spout out their convictions, but what is your own limit?

I think the mother is naive about sort of son he is. Values money and status over life and sacrifice and he could of made good again. Cruel to animals not a good sign. Brother admire is honesty about person he is.

He made sure the creditors would receive absolutely nothing from the sale of his house, assets, property, horses, dogs, or cars. He could easily have downsized and continued to live well with his family. His wife and daughter would have understood. It was all to save face as he couldn't face the 'shame' of people finding out he owed so much money. Absolutely horrific what he did.

A mothers true love is uncompromising and unconditional for her child but a child’s for her, well he invited her to come over and attend that bbq. He killed his family so that they didn’t go through the shame of losing everything as well as their respect for him. So do I believe he invited his mom to spare her for the same reasons that he took the lives of those he loved, though twisted as it was, he would have taken hers too.

Suicide happens when the chemicals in your brain drive you into depression. I'm guessing a psychologist would understand he killed his family thinking he was saving them from an awful tormented future. It doesn't make sense, but could have to him.

I think he could have let his daughter live, she would have inherited enough money to live a decent life, for him & his wife, they are both adults and can decide if they want to continue living or not but my personal opinion is that he did the right thing for himself & his wife if she also agreed of course, however the daughter, should not end her life like this.

Nobody is saying she shouldn't love him. But she should see him for what he is. If she doesn't, she'll never find peace. She knows the truth but can't admit it and that will screw up her head. She should love him but she shouldn't lie to herself.

I don’t see an evil man. He did an evil thing yes. But I see a desperate man who probably never felt like he could be truly vulnerable, a man who always needed to achieve something and prove his worth to everyone and to himself. I believe in the end he was severely depressed and suicidal and maybe he just wanted to spare his family the grieve of him killing himself and also realizing he was “a failure”. The fact that he killed the animals is also heartbreaking but it does make sense in a way.

Realizing you are a failure is no justification for killing others. Just as he made the decision to end his own life, he should allow others the right to decide if they want to live or die. That was not his decision to make, the fact that the made that decision for them shows how entitled he feels, he thought his wife and daughter were extensions of him, without their own free will.
