Intp here. I don’t know if it’s a trait related to the intp personality, but you gesticulate just as much as me when you talk 😅 it’s lovely

Haha yes I do that a lot. I believe it may be a trait more common amongst intuitive thinkers in general. I think I do it as a means to more easily access my memories and emotions as it forces me to be more engrossed in my train of thought, physically interacting with the mental model inside my head. Or maybe I just use it to substitute my lack of vocabulary 😂

I see that you often look up while you talk, I don't wanna make wrong assumptions, but I do that too and the reason why is because while I talk I always have to think very deeply bc it's really hard for me to express my thoughts in words and that's also why I speak extremely slow with a lot of pauses, is this the same with u? -intp (maybe infp)

2:32 Haha. My Se trickster (I think) makes it hard for me to speak properly sometimes. I think so quickly and so deeply that only a few words end up coming out; and then to someone like an ESTP with a high concrete function (Se hero), they'll get bored quickly because they think I am unable to communicate. That's definitely one of the downsides of being an INTP-no-one understands us. It's like trying to send a 1 GB file through a single copper wire (the wire, in this case, being language). Excellent video!

ENTJ here. My bf is INTP and your talking style is the same as his. Some short pauses and cadence. My Te hero has allowed my talking style to flow a bit more steady. I’m fascinated by Ti and how it differs from Te... that’s why I’ve noticed. Maybe you could make a video, Ti vs Te and how to notice both styles and maybe how to develop both styles. I’d like to work on my Ti Nemesis. Thanks for the video. I just recently purchased some equipment for my KZbin video. I really want to have a Q and A with an INTP. It’s my unconscious functions. Maybe you’d consider my invitation.

Cool, thanks for sharing! I don't have much experience with the ENTJ but they're definitely one of my favorite types! The INTP speech pattern is definitely very distinct. I think the pauses in our speech pattern are a result of us paying extra close attention that what we're saying is logically consistent. For me, this is more so prevalent in person as I generally already know what I'm going to say before I record. And in regards to your invitation I'd possibly be down for that, let me know when.!

I wish people would say what books they've read on TYPE. Or who their mentors were. Because-- There is a distinction to be made that LOTS of people who make MBTI videos or videos on "type" seem completely unaware of. Its this: Yes, I'm generalizing but still...everybody-and-their-dog is harping/instructing about FUNCTIONS, and they call it MBTI but it isnt. Pick YOUR personal FIVE favorite online KZbin MBTI "content-creators" and I'll bet there isnt one who doesnt talk about FUNCTIONS. But--- Take yer TOP 5 favorite Type people online. Have ANY of them read "Gifts Differing" by Isabel Myers-Briggs? Im betting not one of them has. I'd be quite surprised. Functions are mentioned in that book, but its short, and brief, almost in passing. Noooowhere near the relentless harping and emphasis we see online today. So where did all this function-stuff come from? You also wont find it in the book TYPE TALK by Kroeger and Theussen. You wont find it in LIFE TYPES by Hirsch & Kummerow (another researched and leading MYERS-BRIGGS book. We now have THREE authoritative books on type and very very little on functions....again where did all this function-mania come from?Think of the last TWENTY ttype videos you've listened to. Yes, that many. Has even ONE of them listed/mentioned/Named even one of the three books I've mentioned? I'm betting not any of them have. Go back to 2010 on KZbin and an ENTJ video by Mike Adams. Here's the link: @ Do you hear him going on and on and on about "introverted sensing, extroverted intuition, etc? Nope. He talks about "the 4 letters" of type. So how did we get to all the stuff we CALL MBTI today, but is really just...Functions. People today talk waaayyy more about functions than Isabel myers-briggs ever did? My own belief is....probably a little after Mike Adams's videos, some guy came along who went by the name of Dave Superpowers. AT THE TIME, there was farrrrr less "competition" on the web, alot of people never read or heard of the 3 books i mentioned and many folks had not discovered Mike Adams's videos, either. So-o...many folks simply weren't more aware...and along comes this Dave Superpowers with a large flurry of videos--POW---and, he also spoke a bit too fast. He was kinda hard to follow, seemed like he had info, but no one really challenged him (hardly anyone was doing mbti videos then, compared to now), so folks just bought into it cuz: A) they didnt know any better B) they hadnt read the books C) "dave" had very little competition and made alot of videos so he sorta dominated --and people didnt know otherwise. His videos likely were seen by many (not a whole lot else out there on youtube at the time), so people believed it, and from (approximately) 2014 to today, people likely came across his videos, didnt read the books and THEY started making videos about Functions, then some of their followers made youtube videos and repeated what they were taught and so on...and sure enough--- everybody-and-his-dog is talking about functions these days. But it isnt really MBTI. Its just....Functions. Myers-Briggs was the 4 letters (I refer you back to the ENTJ Mike Adams video which was in 2010. We weren't all strung-out on "Function-itis" then. I haven't heard Frank James mention even one of the three books on Type. Who taught him? Function-mania likely "lasted" til now, because people can always be politically-correct, hold their head up high and say with functions they are "going deeper". It sounds more "beyond beginner level" doesn't it? But they didnt get it from the books. The are "parroting" a guy who got lucky in the beginning and didnt have alot of competition. My opinion. Anyone is welcome to prove me wrong. I can take it. I just wish people would call it what it is and be honest. And bother to look. And trace some history. ---"Rock ON!"

You should already know that the cognitive functions were originally theorized by Carl G. Jung and he even has a book called "Psychological Types". You say there are 3 books about typology... How can you be so sure about that? it's so wrong, there are dozens of actual books and who cares if youtubers don't refer to Isabelle Briggs Myers own theories? Your comment is an exemplary case of the Dunning Kruger effect where you don't know what you don't know and pretend to be masterful in it anyways.

@@alanarguello3704 My 1st post can easily stand on its own. I simply invite everyone to read it again. Its well-explained. As for your Dunning Kruger effect, you are just trying to spout technical-sounding whatever to make it look like "you know better:. The fact is, I "said it simpler" and people can understand me better than you. Further, Yes I mentioned 3 popular and well-known books on the topic of myers-brrigs. I never said that there weren't any others. As for Carl Jung, he did not use the J or P characteristics in his book like Myers-Briggs does with its 4 letters in each persons personality type. So it isnt quite same. I cite my sources. You, don't. I mentioned Mike Adams and his Living My Purpose Myers-Briggs videos. I also mentioned 3 16 Types books. Yes, there are other beyond the 3 that I mentioned. I never said there wasn't. Then you say: " who cares if you tubers don't refer to Isabelle Briggs Myers own theories?". The problem is: they typically dont refer to anyone! No notes. No sources. No authorities. They just "pontificate" and spout their stuff as if no one dare to question it. So much for "research". They can do that, but its arbitrary. Nothing to back them up. So much for "critical thinking" but intelligent viewers/readers want more. People make their own sytems and spin-offs of other things. They can. But at least be honest about it and dont try to lie to viewers that its the "real deal", when its not what the Founders said. If its really just your own system--OWN it! Again, My 1st post holds up just fine. .

@@dabbler1166 "I haven't heard Frank James mention even one of the three books on Type." There you said it, not saying otherwise. Look, man. I actually spotted 2 or more fallacies for each paragraph you wrote, so it would be pointless to prove you wrong with that much effort since your comment is currently 0 likes and seems quite outrageous. Good way of pissing off an INTP. That's why none of us gave your our approval. And then you said the J and P letter doesn't come in Carl Jung's work. That's right, but it's proof that MBTI talks about functions too because that letter has everything to do with cogntive functions and wouldn't be that way without their recognition. Anyways, just dared to comment to let you know you aren't quite right as you think you are and to tell you that almost nobody cares if youtubers contribute in their own way to the understanding of cognitive functions or typology. Many of them use Socionics knowledge and Jungian knowledge to form their opinions and many of them just share what they regard as useful knowledge about it... and IT'S OK! because why should these typology theories remain unchanged and unimproved for decades? why should they? there has actually been an enrichment and expansion of those theories thanks to the actualization and further discoveries and it has been for the better. Instead of being grateful for this expansion and improvement made with earnest effort by the community, you are complaining so bad about it... and let me tell you, almost nobody asks them to go take quotations from a rather old book to make a meaningful contribution. The Dunning-Kruger effect still aplies to you, go make a quick search about it and you'll understand. Try to make good arguments, your "facts" and intent to be right will never convince an INTP.
@dabbler1166

@@alanarguello3704 You STILL don't get it. And sticking that comment in about spotting fallacies without saying what they are or offering any "correction" is yet ONE MORE WAY of, as sooo many youtubers seem to do these days--trying to make it appear to your audience as if "you know better" than the next guy. You miss the point. I never said that everything should stay frozen, or that things should never advance, or that folks can't use other tools to enhance their understanding. It was more of a simple plea for honesty, to not call one's own "spin-of system" the real deal, or the original thing, when it isn't. That's fair. So go ramble-on about Dunning-Kruger effect and feel-good-about-yourself. Perhaps you've mis-typed yourself. I dont care. I dont need the specific approval of INTP's anyway.

@@dabbler1166 I have watched several youtubers on MBTI content and haven't seen anyone who claims they have the best answers or any of the terms you mentioned. There are a lot of those things on videogame videos and other popular trends, but in these informative videos with actual concrete topics I don't remember any. Of course, if a major channel which makes daily content about trends is who makes a video about "X signs that you are Y" or "what personality type are you? find out now" may incurr in this tactic, then I get it, but that doesn't make them an MBTI content creator or make them relevant to the actual community that talks about MBTI in an informative manner. It's just a tactic but the youtubers I have watched coming with serious topics do not claim to be the ultimate content creators or experts. So maybe you are upset by the mainstream media behaving that way and they do, but you can't generalize to even 10% of the personality theory youtubers. I have been around in these kind of videos for many months now, and by no means blame these relevant youtubers for that tactic. Maybe you should browse more specific content to get rid of that notion, because, if you just search "MBTI" of course all the mainstream media channels will show up first. And if you don't value the approval of INTPs then you don't value logic much, because this is the most logical type of all. Don't try to counter this argument with hate-speech, you already have to change a lot of your thinking patterns to be logical (according to the many paragraphs of yours as solid proof). And I'm only making replies to you specifically because I practice my arguing skills. You want me to point out your 30+ fallacies? Sorry that's pointless, you would only get mad, not take it, and no one wins anything, just like I learned nothing from your comments
