The rest of the controversy is unproven and despite all that bashur was subject to mental destruction for years, the court system is extremely stressful for young people and once he got away from it it's like PTSD just bringing this situation back up then he was essentially bullied and mentally harassed into being a lolcow which is fucked up on its own. But back then, I generalized all Minecraft KZbinrs to be 'annoying'. But the way this man made that send off was so sweet and heartfelt for the kids, despite the darkness behind the situation. It made me think about how there are actual Content creators who make good family-friendly content to watch. Everything within standards and good morals. What's best for their audience. Then there are 'Family Friendly' Videos, who hide behind an innocent façade while being completely sleazy. They don't care much, as long as they get the clicks. I’m glad that people actually found out what truly happened years later. It's probably for the best, where they have already grown enough to be able to understand the context. That was a class act on his part. Makes me actually want to find out more about his content now.

@@Homodemon I don't know think they do. Even when I was young among kids who were also from the 2000s on the net, they'd talk and get way too personal with each other. Nowadays it's even worse and it makes me worry for this generation... Edit: worry for this generation out of concern, not some boomer way. Wanted to clarify.
@Homodemon2 жыл бұрын
@@thisusernameisalreadytaken5132 Yeah I was thinking that too. I think the attitude of "I'm very smart I wouldn't let something like that happen to me" kinda of comes hand in hand with children's lack of worldliness, they just don't have enough foresight or experience to imagine scenarios in which their lives could be really at risk and that their actions can have enough power to make them hurt themselves or hurt others. Mixing that with the literal infinite space of creeps and weirdoes that is the internet and you got a ticking bomb. Is more of a transgenerational thing, I'm sure that back then, the fact we were the only ones that knew how to use a computer already gave us a sense of knowing better, so now is the same with phones, the 100 different social media pages, memes, communities and the possibility of being online 24/7 that young people are more likely to be experts of than grown adults so is always this thing of "you don't know what you're talking about, I can handle this stuff, I'm not dumb." But sometimes is not just about being dumb, is about letting your guard down, being vulnerable and trusting too much. Yes, people on the other side of the screen are human like you. But you never know with certainty what kind of human they are, and that, not because you're in a social media full of kids it means they're really ALL kids in there...

I was a victim of sexual abuse on the internet when i was 14 and the abuser was around years old 21. It drove me to insanity, i ended up being diagnosed with GAD and depression, needing to take a lot of medication and therapy. To this day i still get anxiety attacks about all of it. Thank you for talking about this. It is important to spread awareness to the people and especially the poor kids. EDIT: a lot of you dont understand people that have been abused on the internet, and are undermining what they have gone through. I suggest YOU go look it up and do some research. The internet is so strong that it can drive us to literally kill ourselves. Its not as easy as ”lol just turn the internet off”. These people were our friends, our buddies. These people were in their 20s chatting up little kids. You cant sit here and blame little kids when there is an ADULT in the situation. Who has the most mature brain? An adult or a kid? Get a grip. And when it happens to somebody close to you, dont tell me i didnt say so. I suggest doubters to look up the term ”grooming” and get educated before you assume shit about victims.

@ciderofthearctic3922 жыл бұрын
Seeing the scene of Lee's sendoff hits a whole lot harder now and makes me realize a lot of things. You can clearly see that from Lee's letter, Stampy didn't want to traumatize his young audience with Lee's crimes, so the writers hid it behind an unsuspecting goodbye letter and a cheerful atmosphere instead. For me it worked, I was 7-9 when I became a huge Stampy fan. I, now a 13-year-old, went until a few minutes ago not understanding why Lee left the series. Though this was a heartbreaking reveal to me, it was nice to see that Stampy considered the kids when he made Bye Bear. Edit: It's nice to see that there's some evidence Lee didn't do anything..
