It's admirable the way he handled it. Stampy proected his audience. gave Lee the dignity he probably didn't deserve, and also stayed out of the remote parenting realm. What Lee did is something better left for parents to explain to their kids, not an online content creator.

I worked with Bashur briefly at the height of his popularity (when he was still actively working on the hobo series). Building sets for the show, as well as stuff for the sort of mmorpg server he wanted to start based on that series. He was a fun guy to work for/with, but the thing I remember most is just that he would come up with all these ideas of what he wanted to do, but unfortunately he never had the will or dicipline to see it done. Which was mainly why I left. Sad to see he how he ended up only to pass when finally seeming to get better.

@@ibapreppie Lol how is that “hiding a pedo”? He’s literally doing the best thing possible in his position. He’s allowing the authorities to handle the situation while protecting his young audience by 1. Refusing to host a predator on his channel where he would have access to countless children and 2. Maintaining a child-friendly, safe, and lighthearted environment. Kids don’t need to know about stuff like that outside of basic knowledge they would use to keep themselves safe. He handled things better than, like, 90% of KZbinrs probably would.

I actually feel bad for bashur, out of all of these KZbinrs he had the most understandable crime, being in a relationship with someone 3 years younger than you is totally normal though it gets kinda weird at that specific age of puberty. The rest of the controversy is unproven and despite all that bashur was subject to mental destruction for years, the court system is extremely stressful for young people and once he got away from it it's like PTSD just bringing this situation back up then he was essentially bullied and mentally harassed into being a lolcow which is fucked up on its own. Thank whatever God exists that he had a therapist. Bashur was in his 30s when he died which means half of this man's life was constant mental anguish and torture all because he dated someone he could have gone to school with

I never watched Stampy’s content before. I remember in the earlier days though, my younger brother would reference him all the time, since he was a kid then. Reasons because, I hate to say this. But back then, I generalized all Minecraft KZbinrs to be 'annoying'. But the way this man made that send off was so sweet and heartfelt for the kids, despite the darkness behind the situation. It made me think about how there are actual Content creators who make good family-friendly content to watch. Everything within standards and good morals. What's best for their audience. Then there are 'Family Friendly' Videos, who hide behind an innocent façade while being completely sleazy. They don't care much, as long as they get the clicks. I’m glad that people actually found out what truly happened years later. It's probably for the best, where they have already grown enough to be able to understand the context. That was a class act on his part. Makes me actually want to find out more about his content now.

imma be completely real, i have never heard lee’s voice before watching this video, and seeing the footage from his own channel gave me whiplash on a more serious note however, Stampy’s method of letting his viewers know that Lee was leaving and not coming back was executed in such a spectacular way. i remember watching the video as a kid and thinking nothing of it until a few years later when i found out what really happened. i appreciate the way that whole situation was handled on Stampy’s side of things, because i can only imagine how hard it was to know that someone who was so close to his channel was such a terrible person behind the scenes, and later having to find a way to essentially boot him from the playthrough while keeping everything PG.

I think something sounds a bit strange. When Lee is 16 and getting fame. It's an older schoolgirl 18 and aunt. When he is getting money people get jealous. Dail Record and mirror can write anything as seen in JD trial with the Sun that got popular for page 3 topless girls. Our news isn't like American news we have no obligation to tell the truth. A work mate of mine used to pick up a newspaper full of porn and conspiracy stories.

LforLee never turned out to be a pedophile, it was false allegations that flew around the internet along with "He went to prison for child m0lestation" when in reality, he had never been convicted of any crime like that and didn't go to prison for any amount of time (especially for such an act of indecency meaning YEARS of prison, not months with his second-to-last video on the channel being evidence of that) and he personally chose to leave Stampy because he knew sticking around would affect the channel and knew that he couldn't let people ruin Stampy's reputation like that.

@@thisusernameisalreadytaken5132 Yeah I was thinking that too. I think the attitude of "I'm very smart I wouldn't let something like that happen to me" kinda of comes hand in hand with children's lack of worldliness, they just don't have enough foresight or experience to imagine scenarios in which their lives could be really at risk and that their actions can have enough power to make them hurt themselves or hurt others. Mixing that with the literal infinite space of creeps and weirdoes that is the internet and you got a ticking bomb. Is more of a transgenerational thing, I'm sure that back then, the fact we were the only ones that knew how to use a computer already gave us a sense of knowing better, so now is the same with phones, the 100 different social media pages, memes, communities and the possibility of being online 24/7 that young people are more likely to be experts of than grown adults so is always this thing of "you don't know what you're talking about, I can handle this stuff, I'm not dumb." LforLee never turned out to be a pedophile, it was false allegations that flew around the internet along with "He went to prison for child m0lestation" when in reality, he had never been convicted of any crime like that and didn't go to prison for any amount of time (especially for such an act of indecency meaning YEARS of prison, not months with his second-to-last video on the channel being evidence of that) and he personally chose to leave Stampy because he knew sticking around would affect the channel and knew that he couldn't let people ruin Stampy's reputation like that.

Bashur/Toast was someone I dearly loved watching. Was just getting back into watching his new channel and then he got sick and he didn’t recover. His last few twitter posts hurt. Still has an open discord community! His girlfriend and some mods keep it active and his gf has an art Instagram picturing the hard moments she’s had to face with Brandon’s passing. His story is one of the hardest and lengthiest to explain, and so many rumors and fake stories about him were spread and never even proven true. He did explain himself and the situation, but it was scary seeing these people and his own mental health chew away at him and a lot of people thought he was gonna off himself. He was strong and just as his world was stable, covid came and took him away. He doesn’t need to fight anymore, I hope he’s resting peacefully. I pray for his family and girlfriend, that pain can never fully go away.

Yeah that one was sad, 15 and 17 (or even 18) isn't really that big of a deal, especially if it wasn't sexual. Even legal in many states. Twisting that into him being a rapist at a totally different age was extremely cruel, especially after that public breakdown. Claiming that the breakdown made him into a lolcow was similarly cruel. Lolcows aren't otherwise normal people being bullied into having a mental breakdown, they're already insane people who would be doing dumb/funny stuff even without being bullied into it.

I was a victim of sexual abuse on the internet when i was 14 and the abuser was around years old 21. It drove me to insanity, i ended up being diagnosed with GAD and depression, needing to take a lot of medication and therapy. To this day i still get anxiety attacks about all of it. Thank you for talking about this. It is important to spread awareness to the people and especially the poor kids. EDIT: a lot of you dont understand people that have been abused on the internet, and are undermining what they have gone through. I suggest YOU go look it up and do some research. The internet is so strong that it can drive us to literally kill ourselves. Its not as easy as ”lol just turn the internet off”. These people were our friends, our buddies. These people were in their 20s chatting up little kids. You cant sit here and blame little kids when there is an ADULT in the situation. Who has the most mature brain? An adult or a kid? Get a grip. And when it happens to somebody close to you, dont tell me i didnt say so. I suggest doubters to look up the term ”grooming” and get educated before you assume shit about victims.

Seeing the scene of Lee's sendoff hits a whole lot harder now and makes me realize a lot of things. You can clearly see that from Lee's letter, Stampy didn't want to traumatize his young audience with Lee's crimes, so the writers hid it behind an unsuspecting goodbye letter and a cheerful atmosphere instead. For me it worked, I was 7-9 when I became a huge Stampy fan. I, now a 13-year-old, went until a few minutes ago not understanding why Lee left the series. Though this was a heartbreaking reveal to me, it was nice to see that Stampy considered the kids when he made Bye Bear. Edit: It's nice to see that there's some evidence Lee didn't do anything..

2:16 Heard that voice for the first time in years. Words cannot express how much nostalgia washed over me in a second. However, it was a shame that the whole L for Leeeeeeex thing happened. A true tragedy.

When you mentioned stampy at the beginning I was scared shitless he had done something but after hearing the whole story, I am kinda glad, he sheltered me from a topic I was simply too young to understand.

21:21 IBX Toycat was *NOT* a person i was expecting. Wow, glad to see he's way better off without Lionmaker because Toycat is Yes, Lionmaker is No.

It’s crazy how many minecraft KZbinrs are linked like that… Pho3nix was there too, and minigod I think, both friends of SB737 who’s friends with iballistic squid who’s of course friends with stampy. It’s such a shame that just a couple bad eggs could ruin multiple KZbinrs’ careers…

I used to watch stampy all the time when I was about 6-8 years old. Those were the good and simple days.

I’ll admit I never got into Minecraft or it’s community, so I watched this video for curiosity. But damn that last guy got fucked over. He seemed so sincere when he talked about his original crime, but ClownStar and the internet basically made his life a living hell. RIP I hope he finds happiness and justice in the afterlife.

Bashurverse didn't even do anything sexual. But his life was ruined and he just could not handle it. It's honestly so sad and his death was too.

Am i the only one here who is absolutely furiouse that there is no reprecousion at all for this literal CRIMMINAL? Spreading the rourmour that a dude diddled a 12 year old and hassled him constantly in what can only be described as harrasment?
