So the reason the textures in the distance are default is because of mipmapping - also, the textures present in this version are actually an existing texture pack from all the way back in 2011! An individual on the MCArchives discord server identified them a year or two back, but I’m not sure what the pack is called now. They were not present in the original beta, they were modified in by whoever the person who leaked this version were. We know this because there’s actually footage of this version of the game floating around - this was the very same version that a select few folks got the chance to play at an event (E3? Minecon? I don’t remember.) several months prior to the game’s launch which is also likely how the leaker got their hands on it in the first place. I remember when this dropped, it was April or late February of 2012. You bet your ass I was booting up my JTAG 360 and playing Minecraft several months before anyone else had it available!

i think something you forgot to mention is that there's multiple beta posted there, with the others not being modified with that texture pack, though a few versions ahead. it may be worthwhile to check out the differences.

@@sleepydudespillowyou need a disc copy and make sure you don’t have Xbox live on your 360 and after a while of going backs and fourth through the arcade version and disc version the arcade version will downgrade to the original beta version

I think the textures were like this because they were probably creating the first prototypes, and while Mojang didn't send the original package, they created some kind of placeholder. But thats just a theory, a Game Theory.

Did my mind slowly get used to this new update it's new texture of grass I've been playing since this version beta Xbox 360 version started on pocket edition lite before it was pocket edition because my younger sister told me about this game when I thought it was a beta old beta dungeon maker program ( which it really was developed like that I remember seeing the old pictures I never knew it would grow into something this big it's amazing) I would see the old pictures two-dimensional in the caves torches and grass trees. but I can't remember the grass texture being repeated so much sorry please excuse my misspells I'm using a voice to text from Google and it's not working properly and I don't feel like rewriting so please I don't want no hate replies about I don't know English I just have a poor device or Bluetooth headphones

​​@@scuzzzbag I'm not really sure how a modded xbox 360 really works since it's basically unaccessible for me because there's only hardmods for it, but it might be as easy as other consoles by just installing the game and putting on an usb stick and loading it with some app edit: I did a small bit of research on it, all you need is XeXMenu and I think Aurora and an usb stick

@@scuzzzbag if i remember right jtags can run custom apps right? if so use Aurora and get the beta xex. once you get into Aurora and set paths to detect games. minecraft should show up on the main screen of Aurora. Press X to open up extra settings, go to the arrow button and press left on the d-pad until you find settings. once in there choose XBLA unlocking and spoofing. That will make the game be read as fully owned. (i do not know if this works on jtag as i am on a RGH)
