Would seeing fish appear in a net make you any more of a believer than see the miracle of God's creation all around you? Jesus Christ is with us every bit as much as he was with Peter beside the lake. Faith is believing what you can't see with your eyes.
@the.seagull.35
@the.seagull.35 9 ай бұрын
@@muckeyduck3472 ❤ That is a very good point. But I can also tell you this from experience. The moment you see a miracle with your own eyes... when the eyes of your heart are opened, and you see the power and reality of Jesus Christ right in front of you. It changes you. And you're right too. It shouldn't be like that for us. If we had perfect faith, we would always know that Jesus is with us; so seeing a miracle wouldnt be any more special than our everyday life. But we're fallen; our faith is weak, and the eyes of our hearts are very dim. A miracle brings you right into the Presence of God, and it can be genuinely scary. It really makes you feel your sinfulness and unworthiness, to be so close to God. That's why Isaiah said "Woe is me, I am ruined, for I am a man of unclean lips... and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts."

@@kathyworiax1089 Yes, but however that's not talking about that time, remember your messiah, does not even have an Elijah forerunner, (you still wait for him, and do not know him) that whole Gospel is a parable, a story that you, Pharisees and Jews, did not recognize your Messiah. Why else does Jesus speak in parables and never say he is a god. You dont get it and probably never will. The whole world was decieved by the beast, who was fatally wounded and came back to life Revelation 13:14. So you dont know who the actual Messiah is.

@@kathyworiax1089 Prove it, with facts and prophecy, dont just deny it, there's no such thing as blind faith when it comes to the truth. There cannot be the true Messiah without an Elijah forerunner to herald the real Christ, prophecy states that the spirit of Elijah must come first before the Messiah and the Dreadful Day of the Lord. Christianity's Elijah was John the Baptist but he was killed and did not restore anything, that Elijah was prophecied to restore. Elijah is a mandatory prerequisite for the Messiah. So if indeed you are saved, on this day, who is your Elijah? Has he come already? (If so, it is not John the Baptist, and you are lost) Or are you still waiting for Elijah to return? IF indeed, he has not arrived yet, then you still do not have a Messiah based on the prophecy. If he has arrived, then who is he, if you should know him and what has he restored, if he wasnt just beheaded. Again IF there is No Elijah (or if you don't know him), then THERE CAN BE NO MESSIAH FOR YOU.

@@keedi_boo The God of the OT is the Father of Jesus... same God. Let us not confuse MERCY with "great patience" the scriptures tell us, awaiting people to turn from serving the devil and sin being its result, and to turn to Him through following Jesus, having left darkness ☀ and entering the light. ☉ Do we go by our own ideas, or what scripture tells us? Matthew 5 says God rains down on both the wicked and righteous people. God is merciful. God is love... BUT... Acts 10:34-35 says God will accept anyone from any nation AS LONG AS they fear God and work righteousness. Proverbs says the wise fear God and consequently flee evil (resist the devil as James says). SUPER IMPORTANT WORDS OF JESUS as He gets ready to go to the cross. ↘ John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”↖ 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” ↘ 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and then My Father will love him, and We both will come to him and make Our home with him. ↖ 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

@@jesusstudentbrett jesusstudentbrett We sinned, yet God still willing to forgive and accept us, because He love us. 1 John 1:9 "If we just confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive ALL OUR Sins and cleanse us in all unrighteousness". My point sir is even though we are sinful, God loves us. "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" that's how God demonstration His love for us. I agree that sin can separate us from God, because if we continue to live in sin, we'll go to hell, we'll be separated from God. The man said he is sinful. Yet Jesus said "do not be afraid", Jesus even hang out with tax collectors. "He came not for the righteous, but for the sinners". Sin cannot separate us from the love of God. Jesus does not condemn, God does not condemn. He just condemn when the time of Judgement comes. Shalom mister 😇

We imagine Him declaring that to us, I suppose? The flood of promises and his favor, like in Ps. 103 8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

What's so amazing about this scene is the way it's built up as a _practical_ miracle as well; modern audiences sometimes don't grasp just how desperate someone can be day by day for directly gathering their food and their livelihood from the world. Peter isn't just trying to keep his family alive, he's trying to pay off his taxes as well, and we've spent five episodes understanding just how desperate and terrified he is. Jesus's miracle isn't just a demonstration of His power, it's a direct and personal _rescue_ from fear and grief, in a way all of us have longed for at one time or another and which some of us have been blessed enough to receive, in a way that perhaps looked like luck and perhaps was recognized as something More.

We shouldn’t try to reduce Jesus to one attribute as well though. Jesus could be serious and introspective as well. He could also be fierce and angry when roused such as when He saw what they were making His Father’s house a place of trade or when He was rebuking the Pharisees. Not denying that He could be upbeat but He could also be the opposite depending on the circumstance.

@@YourHeartIsTheKey Yes of course He was serious and stern when He needed to be. He even cried over Lazarus. But I’ve felt like (in my experience) Christ has always been depicted as always solemn and serious about everything. I’ve enjoyed this side of him being charismatic and even funny. Pretty sure if He could raise people from the dead, that He could probably land a joke or two, as well. ;) No, He wasn’t always joking, because salvation is a very serious matter and He’s concerned for all of our souls. (And never would He have ever made jokes at other people’s expense) but I truly believe if He tells us to “be of good cheer”, then I’m pretty sure that he is cheerful and extremely optimistic as well. This was all just my opinion.

One of the best ways to portray Jesus his is laughter and joy watching them struggle to haul in the fish. Jesus truly mourns and sobs with us in our saddest and darkest moments but rejoices with us in our success and happiness.

Simon/Peter has always been my favorite of the 12 apostles because of just how much I relate to him. He was far from perfect. He wept in his guilt and was afraid of what Jesus would think of him, as I have done many times. And now just seeing this scene visually gives me so much more appreciation for Simon/Peter. The way Jesus looks at him, tells him to not be afraid and to lift up his head, and Simon's reaction of surprise when Jesus tells him to follow Him, make me fall in love with Jesus so much more. Simon didn't understand how someone as perfect and sinless as Jesus could love someone as flawed and sinful as him (and I often wonder the same thing about myself), yet Jesus loved him anyway because that's how compassionate He is. Simon knew he could never do anything on his own and needed Jesus, and that's why he said "I will" to following Jesus. While Simon's personality throughout the rest of the show is still funny, charming, brotherly, and sometimes ill-tempered, you can see how much he's willing to do for Jesus, even go as far as protecting Him (even though He didn't need it), because of what Jesus did for him. Later in the show, James and John say to their father, Zebedee, "You wouldn't recognize Simon now, he's the teacher's pet." At the end of episode 8 when Jesus says they don't have to keep His secret of Him being the Messiah anymore, Simon shouts "YES!!!!!" and runs up to Jesus and gives Him a bro hug, and they both have the biggest smiles on their faces. It's so pure. I know Simon's still gonna mess up, even deny Jesus three times. But still, his enthusiasm for Jesus is so wholesome. Even after Simon/Peter denies Jesus three times and is forgiven for them, Jesus entrusts him to continue leading His church after He ascends into heaven. When you read the beginning of Acts of the Apostles, Peter and the other apostles get ridiculed a lot - people assume they're drunk, and they were also questioned by the religious orders, who told them to stop teaching in Jesus' name. Yet Peter refuses and is not ashamed in the slightest to stand up for Jesus and testify all He's done for him. I will never be perfect like Jesus, but Simon/Peter reminds me that I don't have to be perfect to do great things through Him. Anyways if you made it this far, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :)

This is one of my favourite scenes and I have no idea how many times I have watched this. This one has truly impacted my faith in a very positive way. I can picturize these scenes when I read the Bible. We all feel discouraged in our life like Simon did and in those circumstances all we should do is to trust in Him and submit ourselves to Him. Our God specialises in hopeless situations and He is able to do miracles much beyond our expectations. Praise God !!

There is something so real in this series. Its so alive. Brought me to tears when Peter kneeled and said LORD Iam a sinner. Depart from me!. Often a time when we are blessed we look to the blessings rather than the giver. Should people look to Jesus in His holiness & righteousness and repent. I loved the way Jesus smiled😊 yes He too shared in humanity laughed weeped etc. May God bless you all. You are impacting lives out there and your reward is great in heaven. Prayers for THE CHOSEN.🙏
