The pastor I had at one time fancied himself a faith healer-and he showed others how to be such,also.My mother got polio when she was two years old.It made one of her legs almost one inch two short and another one very thin.This pastor had what he called a "leg lengthening" service where people would go to him or one of his helpers and supposedly have there legs "made even." People who had legs that were just barely uneven were "made whole," but my mother's leg didn't move one bit.I learned since then that there was a trick that made the receivers "think" there legs was being evened out(like there wasn't anything wrong with their legs in the first place).Sad to say,I still continued to "believe"for quite a while afterwards in the "healing ministry." My mom died of cancer when I was 17. She received good medical care, but the cancer spread fast. She also had visitors that were "faith healers." One told her that God would heal her, but only if she gave up anything else she loved. By then, she was weak and easily scared. She became terrified that my siblings and I were going to die because God insisted she give us up and love only God. My 20 yr old daughter was told by a faith healer in Kentucky that she would be healed of whatever kept bringing her to the free clinic at the revival meeting being held outside of town that weekend. Her boyfriend convinced her to go. It was going to cost $50 at the meeting and 10% of her wages for the next 2 months. She said it was BS and refused to pay but the "healer" said he would heal her to prove that God is all powerful and that would bring her to the "one true God." Her boyfriend decided to go behind her back and give the "healer" the money she was saving for college. A month later, she was back home in Michigan. I took her to the hospital as soon as she landed. She had a rare form of pediatric bone cancer. She called the "healer" and demanded her money back because she had told him she wasn't paying until there was proof of healing. He said it must be a different problem and besides she mocked "God's healing power by not believing so God withheld his almighty powers." My daughter passed on Halloween at 22 years old. More Christians told me that the reason my daughter died was because we "rejected God's healing" when the doctors thought she was in remission because the cancer growth had slowed than offered to help us in any way. One of the local pastors refused to give her a ride home from the park, even though he was going right by our house, because she refused to accept that "without God healing wasn't possible." fortunately the town witch overheard the conversation. The witch pulled my daughter, the 1/2 mile, home in her wagon. I have the witch over for at least monthly and I do what I can to help her. Thanks for exposing these frauds. May the coming year be filled with the love, laughter, and light of family and friends.

When I was a Christian, this was one of the things that bothered me most deeply. It was very clear that, according to the New Testament, faith healing should be able to work. But I had a deep distrust of alleged faith healers and especially for the idea of seeking faith healing over medicine. Just to play devil's advocate, pun (??) or whatever slightly intended, couldn't it be proposed, that while an amputee has very very likely never have nor ever will do a lizard's tail type of regeneration restoration of their missing limb, that one could say the real healer God had worked through was not any of these "faith healer" charlatans but was, in fact the folks down at the prosthetics R&D facilities that go on to allow people to walk again or have arms again. Obviously these were not based on faith alone means of healing and hell I'd go as far as to say that God and faith never popped into anyone's head while making these new limbs for patients. However, I feel you'd be disingenuous to automatically chalk that up to not being orchestrated by God in a wizard of Oz man-behind-the-curtain sort of way regardless. Because non-believers and rebellious believers alike are utilized by God all the time to reach His intended outcome. And i know this isn't the way you were wanting God to heal these hypothetical amputees of ours but that seems like the pinnacle of arrogance to expect God to follow your demands and what you are dictating qualifies as an acceptable form of healing by Him. I mean He is God in this little thought experiment and not you, right? Anyway, TLDR: maybe people making prosthetic limbs could in a very roundabout way said to be God's way of "growing" these limbs back and "healing" those afflicted individuals.

Up until I was 8yrs old I went to my dad's "hellfire and damnation" fundamentalist evangelical Independant Baptist church. I didn't know it then, but I have moderate autism. It made me constantly anxious to see and hear all those people dancing and clapping and wailing "hallelujah" all the time. But sometimes at church I would become fascinated by mundane things such as the patterns in the painted cinderblocks of the hallway, and my peculiar affect was to flap my hands and cock my head like a pigion. On several occasions I was taken into a room where the preacher and the most devout believers would practice the laying-on-of-hands while shouting and chanting scripture and making threatening gestures in an attempt to thwart the demon that was trying to possess me. At 8yrs old I was having horrific, screaming nightmares about losing control of my soul. Fortunately when my parents got divorced I started going to my grandmother's Presbyterian church. These were reverent, rational, caring people that my autism could deal with. One member was a doctor, or maybe a mental health worker, and he suggested to my Mom that I get checked out, so I was finally diagnosed. Decades later, even as an atheist, I still sometimes have nightmares about being possed. I used to think there were no words vile or condemning enough to describe these people, but thanks the Hitchens I have overcome my anger and resentment by understanding that religion makes _everyone_ its victim. I'm still appreciative of the Presbyterians, though. They may have been good people, but their insane Calvinist doctrines of Predestination and the Elect were what made me have my first doubts about my beliefs. I guess I have to thank them for that. @@iamthasecond thank you for your Response Chris, just a quick follow-up, what is true Christianity and how did you determine that you are correct
@iamthasecond2 жыл бұрын
@Thomas Flanagan Sure! Let's talk, man! True Christianity is realizing the gravity of who God is and how amazing Jesus's sacrifice was. Once you realize who God is from reading the Bible, and how irrational it is for an all powerful deity to actually want a relationship with us as broken people, and then not only that, but send himself down in human form to be the final sacrifice for our sins, so we can spend eternity in his literal presence, that's the realization of True Christianity, and a desire to do nothing but serve God becomes your primary focus on life. As a lifelong Christian, that literally just hit me for the first time 2 weeks ago... it changed MY life. I kid you not. As to your second question, if I can ask to clarify, what do you mean by right?
@thomasflanagan5052 жыл бұрын
@@iamthasecond Thank you for your response, I like your Cander, to reply to your first paragraph, my issue with this, is that anyone can have the Passion you do, for any Following, whether it be Cult Leaders, Religions, Objects, anything... so having Passion unfortunately, in my opinion, isn't a good pathway to what is True (Yes I've read a good portion of the Bible, it seems different people gain different viewpoints on what is written in that Text). This leads me to answering your question, when I say "Right", I mean as close to Reality and Truth as possible; I fully understand that absolute Truth isn't really possible but I'd like to be as close as possible; so my question of "How do you know you're right" is in response to your Claim that these Charlatans are not following the "True Christianity" and I have automatically assumed that that means you think you are??? please correct if I'm wrong and if I assumed correct, what is it that makes you right in saying they are wrong?
@iamthasecond2 жыл бұрын
@Thomas Flanagan Ah, perfect. So, I only discussed the spiritual aspect of the Christan Faith in answering your initial question about true christianity. Of course, even Paul, probably the greatest Christian author of all time, said of our faith that if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, our faith is in vain. So Christianity's truth hinges ENTIRELY on Jesus being the literal Son of God, not just in an imaginary spiritual feeling sense. And I'll also add that Jesus can't sinply be this "good teacher" middle ground that most people claim Him to be. We usually don't consider people claiming to be God to be sane people, so Jesus was either an absolute lunatic... or he actually was the Son of God. That said, the practical, historical evidence suggests that Jesus did indeed live a perfect life according to the high standards he taught, predicted his own death and resurrection, was crucified, and then rose from the dead 3 days later. Since that's the case, I believe Jesus is the Son of God, and as such, is worthy of me following and doing everything he said to do to the best of my ability. You have assumed correctly. I and many Christians see these people in this video as absolutely abhorrent to Christianity. In fact, these are the types of people Jesus went after: The Pharisees told people that the only way to be right with God was to follow certain laws, give certain amounts, and pray certain prayers. And Jesus confronted them... A LOT. He even said that in their practices, they themselves will find it hard to avoid being condemned by God. Since Jesus is the Son of God, he condemned this man centered way to salvation, which is why its wrong. We also see in 2 Peter that Peter notes that these types of false teachers will creep into the church and introduce many heresies and exploit the church. As for absolute truth, we can assess certain things to be absolutely true. Science, for instance, at least operational science, observes certain conditions, makes predictions and models, and then develops products that can be repetitively relied on. So there is absolute truth. God is absolutely true, we see that in His creation. And since God is real and true, Jesus is the Son of God, and everything he said to do is worth doing. If he's not the Son of God, we shouldn't even give him a second thought. He'd be an insane person.

I live in the south and I have a friend that’s Deaf. The things she’s gone through just because she had the audacity to use sign language in public or get brightly colored hearing aids so people noticed them. As a child she had a woman come up to her in a grocery store, box her ears, and shout “BE HEALED IN THE NAME OF ALMIGHTY GOD!” (Her mom told her what the lady shouted). When my friend’s mom lost her shit on the woman and called the cops, the woman seemed genuinely confused. She insisted that she was doing them both a favor “by healing the poor child.” Meanwhile my friend was laying on the floor, clutching her ears and sobbing. Or another time when some other Karen came up to them and asked my friend’s mom “so, what’d you do?” After some clarifying questions, they figured out that the Karen was asking what sin friend’s mom committed to make her child Deaf. Because the sins of the parents are always passed down to the child, and if anyone sinned it must’ve been the mother. Countless times, as a child and as an adult, people have just randomly put their hands on her and started praying in an attempt to cure her deafness. No conversation, no asking. Sometimes she doesn’t even see them, they just come up behind her. And when she pulls away and yells at them (because who freaking does that, also how insulting! She _doesn’t want_ her deafness ‘healed’. It’s part of who she is.) they get insulted and act like _she’s_ the jerk. Like she’s somehow oppressing them. It’s mind boggling that people think that by touching someone and saying a prayer you can magically fix a cochlea that’s been damaged all of a person’s life. Much less the person who thought she could assault and traumatize an 8-year-old child and _that_ would suddenly fix that little organ in her inner ear. As if she’s an old tv that just needs a good whack to work right. I just don’t get it.
@Otherwise882 жыл бұрын
Wow its really strange that people just walk up and start touching her. I was raised in faith healing church but I would *always* ask someone if they wanted prayer and also ask if they comfortable with me putting a hand on their shoulder. Its bizarre to just grab a stranger.

my brother had a heart condition that was first discovered in 2017, he had a pacemaker put in, and unfortunately, when the pandemic started, he got covid. with his weakened heart, his body couldn't fight off the virus. he passed in june 2020 at the relatively young age of 60. in april 2021, before i as vaccinated, i got the covid virus and i have never felt so badly in my life. i was literally scared i was going to die, and i had what the doctor told me was a mild case. i was sent home and my wife took wonderful care of me, through a closed bedroom door. there was nothing to be done except to wait it out. fortunately i am in good health and i was able to recover. but to make a long story short, after nearly two weeks i recovered, and after i did, my mom told me "see? prayer works." i love my mom and i didn't want to attack her faith at that moment, i shouldn't say attack. but i bit my tongue but i so badly wanted to say "so my christian brother suffered for a few weeks and we had to watchhim suffer only for him to pass on, but me, being an atheist, i did suffer from the virus, but i was able to do so in the comfort of my own home instead of a hospital bed. prayer and your god saved me who doesn't even believe it exists, but let my brother suffer and die? and that's supposed to make me believe in this being?" not to criticize my brother whom i love dearly, but his years of smoking tobacco and weed weakened his heart and lungs to the point he couldn't fight off the virus. i never smoked tobacco and only occasionally smoke weed, in short, i recovered because i took better care of my body with no help from any imaginary beings

My brother had a huge tumor at the back of his tongue. All the doctors could promise him , was , that they would not let him suffocate or starve or bleed to death. He had a tracheostoma and a suction machine , a g tube and blood transfusions. The tumor was bleeding a lot and it was so big because he waited so long before going to the hospital . They expected him to die any day. The patient in the room with him was in a similar situation. His family sat around the bed praying constantly. They wanted my brother to join them but with the tracheostoma he could not talk. They brought him written prayers they wanted him to read them while they say the prayers loud. My brother refused. He could write on a pad and told me that they get on his nerves with that " constant mumbling" . A couple days later the guy in the bed next to my brother had died. A couple of weeks later, my brother felt a little better and the bleeding had stopped. He used to ask me every day to look in his mouth and check on the nasty tumor. Strangly, every day it looked smaller and after a few more weeks it had disappeared completely. No treatment, no operation, no chemo was necessary. They did all the tests , no tumor left, no metastases . Doctors called it a medical miracle, a rare spontaneous remission.

Like you I grew up christian, but when I had my "Aha" moment I struggled for just over a year over what to believe. When I finally came to my senses and freed my mind from that mental ball and chain of believing in Bullshit, dude, I started to feel what it was really like to be free. I'm sure you remember testimonies given in church of how after that person had accepted christ, the weight they felt lifted from their shoulders, well that is what I felt, but to the tenth power. I love being the guy who will openly call Bullshit on these lying con artists, especially in a room full of christians. I always get that instant death stare from everybody, but they usually let me explain myself, which I bring up cases like you just did (though not as well put as you because a little bit of anger hides behind my words). I don't know if what I say will raise enough doubts to free anyone of their shackles, but I hope it at least weakens a link in the chain.

religious people and especially christians here in the US are put on some kind of pedestal by so many, like by saying "oh they go to church" automatically makes them a good person. or wearing a t shirt proclaiming some silly statement. but i never hesitate to call any of them out when they try to talk about blessings or anything of that sort. at work, i asked a co-worker how are you? and he said, with god everyday is great. my response was immediate "not for Job." he didnt say another word.

Sorry to leave so many comments. Just filled with em today. When I was coming out of Christianity I went to a random youth group meeting at a church that met in a random place inside a strip mall. My friend was grounded for multiple months and one of his punishments was going to church every time he could. So I would go with him and we would get stoned before. They had a guest speaker who was a missionary. He claimed to go to Africa and speak to villagers about Jesus for the first time. A woman confronted him after, her husband had just died and she said she would convert on the spot if he brought him back like Jesus and god both did. He accepted for some reason and followed her to her basement where his remains were being kept for burial. He told her she wasn’t allowed to watch. Lol. He faked a magic prayer and then acted like he was her husband scolding her from pulling him from heaven with Jesus. She wept and converted immediately. Now I’m sure it’s a lie, but that always got me. He was bragging about lying. Lying in Jesus’s name which would be even worse. Everyone believed him but how would the husband know about Jesus when it was the first time they ever heard about it in the village? How could she forget her husbands voice?

Growing up, I was constantly told that God wants us to be whole and wants us to be healed. I have pretty bad eye sight since my eyes don't necessarily work together. I'm not crosseyed or anything, but just bad eyesight that can't be corrected by lasik. Anyhow, a "faith healing" pastor visited our church once and gave a call for anyone who wanted to be healed to stand up. So I stood up. He called me up and started praying over me and everyone else started praying for me as well. He asked me what I wanted to be healed of and I told him I want to be able to see better since God wants us to be whole. He looked confused and asked for me to clarify, and I just repeated what I had said. So he begins praying over me again, along with the other people. I started joining them as well, but I wasn't under the influence of music as the music of the church was wretchedly terrible. He placed his hand on my head and kept trying to push me over as he was speaking in tongues and praying for my eyes. I didn't fall for it cause I was kind of skeptical of him at this point. He asked me to take my glasses off. Then he places both hands on my eyes and started praying in tongues again. He says just like when Jesus put the mud on the blind man's eyes so shall yours be healed. And he takes his hands off. He asks how my eyes are. I tell him they seem to have not changed. He did the WHOLE process over again and that's when I was realizing that he was fake. After redoing the whole thing, he again asks me how my eyes are. I tell him I still can't see. He said well you have to believe and receive. I told him I was ready to receive and I believe I receive. He then tells me that it may take a day or two, but to start reciting verses and praying. And then the pastor of the church started to end the service and thanked the man for coming and preaching! Such malarky.

When I was stationed in San Diego, a friend in the shop hooked up with a cult of “Christians”. He went everywhere whispering “thank you Jesus “ and other prayer like things. He wanted me to go check it out. I was curious about everything at 23. As we drove in a little car, I asked “ so you traded in your beetle?” He said it was now a common car. You just grab a set of keys and go. He also said they all his paychecks go to a common stash, get what you need from the leaders! Ok, so he didn’t own a car, had no money( his uniforms were bad) and they live in a barracks. They drank coffee like kool aid. He used to have perfect teeth and no cavities. Now they were in bad shape falling out, it broke my heart. He had been a good friend and person. When we arrived at the house, the two leaders (married couple) followed me with their eyes. They appeared like stalking demons. The heads were down like animals do following their prey. The coffee tasted really bad and my heart was racing. I now suspect some form of stimulant had been added. The two leaders I will always remember. He tried to introduce me, but they had to go do “something “. The whole place was infected by the JESUS CHRIST teaching there. But it wasn’t real. It was to grift money from the kind and weak minded. They used religion to do their bidding. Their car was an expensive caddy, no sharing that one. They were dressed very nice! I tried hard to get him to see what I did but it did no good. He was discharged some time after and I never saw him again. His name was Tollie Coates, from Baton Rouge La. I still think of him on occasion. That happened back about 1973. Hope things are good for him if he is still alive.

The less obvious things don't always work either. I have had pain all my life, if you looked at me most people wouldn't even be able to tell there was anything wrong with me. Even as a kid it occurred to me that if faith healing was real then why would anyone ever chose to go to a doctor for painful medical procedures when they could just go to a faith healer instead. The placebo effect is really entirely mental, it only works because you BELIEVE it does. There's also a mental disorder where people can believe they have symptoms they don't really have which I'm blanking on the name of at the moment but it's extremely easy to cure someone of a condition they never really had in the first place and fully convince them that they were cured. Of course faith healers never attempt to cure anything with obvious physical symptoms because then they'd instantly be called out as frauds. But they can also fail to heal with less obvious symptoms when that person is skeptical to begin with and isn't easily fooled by placebos. Real doctors actually use placebos as well, mostly because patients who think they have symptoms they don't actually have would never leave the hospital if they didn't believe they were already prescribed a medication to help. It's much easier to give someone a placebo than to convince them you've run every test possible and couldn't find anything wrong with them. Funny enough I've known people who were even outright told they were given a placebo and had no idea what that actually meant. Even after explaining it to them they still insisted it had to be real medicine or a doctor wouldn't have prescribed it. Nope sorry you're taking a fake medication for an illness you don't actually have, that's literally the only reason you'd be given a placebo. Most people don't know they're on placebos and think they're taking something else entirely but I find a little bit funny when highly religious people are straight up told by the doctor, this is a placebo, and they just don't know what that means. The placebo effect only works when the symptoms were psycho semantic in the first place. Use a fake cure to treat a fake illness. Faith healers go even a step further where they will try to treat real problems they don't believe exist expecting them to just go away for the same reason. And a lot of illnesses will clear up on their own over time because that's what the immune system is for so there's also cases where the person really was sick but the problem just went away on it's own rather than due to anything anyone else did. BTW did you notice that when the one eye'd woman tried to give the faith healer a hug he kept backing away from her with this look of disgust and fear on his face after seeing her uncovered eye socket? Honestly if faith healing was real she would have grown back her missing eye. Speaking of which I have also seen actors dressed up to look disfigured, that's likely the reason they removed her eye patch in the first place because the person doing that probably thought she was an actor and wasn't expecting the woman to actually be disfigured. I seen a faith healer once that had a person in a wheelchair, a person with a neck brace, someone with those dark glasses and a walking stick that blind people use, all of them were "healed" and all of them were actors getting paid to pretend to be healed of things they never actually had. The person in the wheel chair would act as if walking was impossible until the faith healer said "YOU ARE HEALED!" then "miraculously" get up and walk around. The person with the neck brace would talk about being in a car accident and then after being healed he'd take the neck brace off and wiggle his head around a little to show his pain was gone. The blind person, takes off the glasses and suddenly "I CAN SEE!" the use of props to make it more believable is sickening.

I've met a pastor a few weeks ago. What I like about him, is that he respected that I am not of the faith anymore, and he didn't try to force it upon me. He also could take a good joke. When my stepmother mentioned that the greying on her hair forms a halo, which it really does, the pastor stated that is because she is an angel. When I replied that it's a good thing that nobody can see my horns, my stepmom, the pastor and his wife all laughed. These are the ones I can get along with. But "Faith Healers"? They can be happy I don't punch out their lights. Then ask his/her followers why their God did not protect him/her. For those who are now thinking "But Techrat3D. You are not supposed to hit a lady.": 1. I am an equal opportunist. 2. A crook like that is not a "Lady" in my book. 😉

@@Mar-dk3mp Don't know why you are ranting against me (some of which I am still trying to decipher). You didn't seem to have read what I wrote. 🤨 Also. This video is aimed solely against fake healers, who ONLY are out to swindle peoples money, that are pretty much summed up in Matthew 7:15-23 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." Here it is NOT against saying that ALL Christians are like this. That just came from you, and you alone. Period. And God is something I do know. I grew up with this religion, and then chose to leave it, because I asked questions that were to uncomfortable for my preachers to answer. So I DID talk with believers. Plural. Not just one. So here are my questions to you. Have you ever talked with Atheists, and maybe asked them their viewpoints? Or did you just always accuse them of being "idiots", and avoid any dialogue? But may you do a good deed for a complete stranger.

I attended a church in NZ. A doctor of oncology was converted. He hadn't "read" the script yet, and casually testified that prayer was emotionally helpful, but he'd never seen anyone miraculously healed from cancer... BTW, the Netflix show Midnight Mass has some interesting things to say about this kind of thing.

I never claimed to be a faith healer, but when I was a Christian, I would lay hands on people and pray for recovery from various conditions. Including terminal illness and vegetative states. I really believed that if I just prayed hard enough, those people would be delivered and their families spared the heart ache. Every time I failed, I blamed myself, as if it was my fault cancer killed this woman. And I got those family's hopes up to be disappointed. Even a comforting lie, can be extraordinarily hurtful, especially when you find out magic can't raise the dead.

If a religious faith healer that COULD actually heal people did exist, they would do it without wanting any financial compensation. If I could heal people, I would charge the incredibly wealthy ( Bill Gates, Tom Cruise, various professional athletes, etc) a substantial fee. Everyone else their fee would be that after I heal them, at some point in the future when they have a chance to help someone less fortunate than themselves they should help that person.

Let me start off by saying I'm an athiest.. I used to suffer from migraines. It was always the same. I get a blind spot for about 45 min. Then when that goes away in about 15 minutes it feels like a brain freeze for about 3 hours. Horribly debilitating. One time during the blind spot, after a bad week, of many migraines. I decided to pray to God and promise to believe in him. If he made it go away..... the blind spot ended. I waited.... and waited. The migraine never hit me. It had never done that previously, or any migraine after that... Obviously I was desperate at the time. And, it didn't actually make me believe... but it made me think for awhile. There's no point to this story. I had just thought it was interesting. And somewhat fit with the video. Lol Keep up the interesting videos. P.s. It was also the only time I ever prayed for that to happen. And, it did... I forgot to mention that part

The problem for faith healers is if they heal u but say keep taking the meds, people might credit their meds for the healing. So they encourage people to stop taking their meds, knowing they can blame the sufferer for lack of faith, when the condition remains, right up to the minute they die of cancer

Had a lot a twisted life with "faith healers". Hate every one of them with a passion hotter than the cores of the hottest stars. They can all die the deaths of s thousand papercuts, then be dipped in lemon juice, and slow roasted over moderately hot coals. When I was in the Navy, I was crushed between my ship and a repair scaffolding. Had micro-fractures all over my pelvis and right arm, my left leg was out of socket for 6 months, amdy spine was sublexed (all the vertebrae were knocked out of alignment and pinching my spinal column). When I was medically retired after a 2 year battle for even the most rudimentary treatment (this was definitely the era of "change your socks, take a motrin, drink some water and get back to work, you malingering PoS!"), the ONLY thing that kept me going was my Christian faith. My marriage was failing, I was drinking my medicine down, amd I was circling the drain. My wife's family went to a "speaking in tongues, stand up from your wheelchair, where did you put the snakes" kind of charismatic Pentacostal Church. We went as a family because it meant a LOT to my wife's grandfather, a very nice man who just happens to believe a bunch of horrible stuff. He runs Chick Publications, 'nuff said. I was raised Baptist and Evangelical, so the Pentacostal and Charismatic stuff just wasn't my cup of tea, but my wife seemed to enjoy it, so we went there instead of driving the extra hour to my families church. They had a healing service and the pastor walked up to me, and commanded me to stand "in Jesus' name". So I crawled to my feet, leaning on my cane. This was a time I couldn't walk without a cane and was in constant agony, and walking hurt like hell. I had a horrific limp at the time, and my left leg swung out badly due to my injuries. Fortunately, I'm MUCH better now, though I still live in pain. He shouted some nonsense about "in Jesus name, be healed!" and yanked my cane from me. Well, the expected happened because I wasn't a paid employee and actor. I think he actually expected me to play along to convince the rubes the donate money. I collapsed the second he pulled the cane out from my hands, screaming in pain as I collapsed onto my bad leg and hip. My wife snatched my cane from his hands, saying something about "what are you doing, Pastor Art, he's REALLY hurt, don't you understand?" Did the pastor offer to help me up, or apologize? In fact, do you think a single person AT ALL from the congregation came forward to offer me help? Or do you think we became instant outcasts, judged as unworthy and foul by everyone there? If you selected the second option, you win the prize! The Pastor looked down at me, sneering, and turned to the congregation saying "he didn't have enough Faith", and walked away, expanding on how God won't help those who don't have enough faith. I received so many angry, bitter looks of loathing from the ancient Karen's and Chad's that went to that place you would have thought I raped a toddler in front of them. Honestly, knowing how Churches like to cover that stuff up, I think they would have reacted LESS negatively had I been raping kids in their Sunday school class. That event was one of several that began my deep dive into researching Christianity and the Abrahamic Religions that eventually proved them all wrong to me. That and the argument I had with my wife's grandfather amd thus same pastor about 'speaking in tongues' and how the gibberish bullshit they were doing wasn't Biblical in any way, shape or form. I've seen people lose their life savings by sending them to bogus faith healers who promise them they or family will be healed if they just send them so much money. My parents had to take control of my grandmother's funds after my grandfather died to prevent her from sending all her money to televangelists. I've seen elderly people fall for the lies that, of they send them ALL their money, then God will take care of all the rest and return to them what they need to survive, only to end up losing their homes and near starving because they have no money, eating cat food and freezing with no heating because the televangelists "needs the money more". Fuck every televangelist and every faith healer. I hope all of them are raped to death by Rottweilers.

Ouch!! I can imagine the pain you went through. Luckily your wife was beside you and stopped further harm on you. My sister had a tumor in her abdomen which caused her stomach to swell. A friend took her to some faith healer and her husband accompanied her. When it was her turn to receive "healing" the pastor started punching her tummy and every cry in pain she made was said to be demons coming out. She was wailing and too weak to ask them to stop so her husband had to intervene. He threatened to punch the preacher if he continued with that nonsense. He was told he also has demons
