If Garp did adopt him after God Valley, this would also add to why Roger trusted Garp with Ace, because he himself witnessed firsthand Garp doing this for someone else. This is awesome Dawn!

I think it’s VERY interesting the first time Luffy saw Dragon’s face (after knowing Dragon is his dad) he said “he doesn’t look like me”. Of course it’s possible that Garp’s genes skipped a generation, but it’s also possible that was meant to be a significant line. Garp also has a frustrated but fond demeanor whenever he’s thinking/talking about Ace and Luffy that isn’t really present when he’s talking about Dragon. And if Xebec is Dragon’s father it adds a layer to Dragon witnessing Roger’s execution. Dragon being born in Dawn Island isn’t something that can be ignored though. However that can always be retconned or added into his backstory in other ways than a blood relation to Garp. If Garp did have a daughter though I wonder if he could keep himself from mentioning her to Luffy (this is with the assumption that she’s dead-if she’s alive I can see Garp keeping quiet, but also Oda where is she?????????????). This theory is really interesting though and whatever may come of it I hope we get more info about Dragon and Garp soon 🙏🙏🙏. Also on the chance that it is true, rip to all the fanfics that are now not canon compliant 😔.

@@rolla5815 that makes sense, why do they make such a big deal about east blue, being that it’s the “weakest sea”, yet having the straw hat essentially born out of it & having roger’s execution happen there? On top of that, luffy is shaping up more and more to be a chosen one of many sorts (special family, special fruit), so it makes sense that there’s something special about the island he grew up in that we don’t know about…in fact I’m certain about GOA kingdom having another serious secret…for example the only time we’ve seen dragon being shocked is how goa kingdom has finally managed to create a kid like sabo, that has to mean something

Also, in response to the OP, I’ll just address this part: I’ve become a firm believer that Oda doesn’t make any seemingly weird decisions without any greater meaning…and he’s shown that time and time again. So I’m fairly certain that the fact that dragon looks and acts nothing like garp (yet is the closest to being a spitting image to rocks compared to other characters in the canon story line) has to mean something

I really want to point out that luffy is based on the monkey King and the monkey King was born from a rock. So at the least I think xebec being luffy's grandpa is very likely. The only reason I question the garp not being Dragon's dad is the myth the names are based on. Where a carp becomes a dragon.

I think the first akuma no mi that Blackbeard ate was the Yami Yami no mi. I bet he will eat Marco's fruit, Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix. There is no akuma no mi that allows anyone to eat more akuma no mi, I don't think Kurozumi Orochi will be able to eat another 7 fruits. I think a combination of akumas no mi users, "joined" three people and created Marshall D. Teach, there is already in One Piece some akuma no mi that can "joined" people (Ope Ope no Mi, Gocha Gocha no Mi, Baku Baku no Mi) maybe in the past there was a more experienced user of some of these fruits, or it may have been a new type of fruit that "joined" these people together, and Blackbeard discovered that he could separate (denying the power of the akumas no mi) with the use of the Yami Yami no mi, this may have been one of the factors in which he has no alternative but to eat this akuma no mi first. So he managed to separate himself temporarily from other people and ate the second fruit, the white beard akuma no mi (that's why he covered Newgate's body, to hide him separating). Blackbeard's plan (after catching the fruit of darkness) was to be able to heist Impel Down and recruit pirates AT LEVEL 6, at the same time it was revealed in the manga that Blackbeard only got a Shichibukai position (this position by itself is a great feat) to have "access" to Impel Down. I think the original idea was that blackbeard' had a mentor, and that was Shiki. At the same time that Blackbeard's plans were revealed, the character "Shiki" was revealed, who is the only prisoner in history to escape from level 6, which is a secret level for all. Then Shiki would warn young Blackbeard of the secret level of prison and pirates that exist at level 6. Shiki was the only fugitive from level 6 in history, black beard went straight to level 6, no one outside the navy knows about it, and Blackbeard's plan was to go straight there. Blackbeard knew of this level because he was trained by the only pirate in history who escaped from there. I think Shiki was thought of as Teach's original mentor, but because of the movie with Shiki I don't know if they'll keep, possibly will change, but Teach was certainly trained by someone close to Shiki, and he came to meet him. Hardly any One Piece character doesn't have a mentor.

I read this somewhere:-In chapter 434 when shanks visited whitebeard , wb says something like " your face reminds me of the man who gave me these scars " , he couldn't possibly be talking about roger since shanks does not look like roger and a pirate who was strong enough to scar wb must have been his previous captain Rocks d xebec and also when roger held momonosuke for the first time he said " this brings back memories rayleigh" , which means the roger crew raised a kid .shanks is 39 years old and rocks was defeated 38 years ago , theory is that roger must have taken rocks kid at that time fearing What would happen to him since the child should not be resented for the sins of his father. I read this theory somewhere but your theory that dragon is rocks son is convincing too now im confused😅

This theory made me think about the scene in Impel down where Ace tells Garp: "We both have the blood of an infamous criminal running in our veins...". And I realized an odd thing. Why did Garp in the past tell Ace about Luffys dad but not to Luffy himself? And why tell Luffy about Aces dad (about Roger) but not his own dad? So Ace knew about Roger and Dragon, but Luffy only knew about Roger being Aces dad and NOT about Dragon being his dad? Pretty odd move from Garp. I wont even try to imagine any implications for this but it's food for thought for any fun/crazy theories.

This is such a fascinating theory. Maybe the reason not many people know about Garp's hypthetical daughter is that she was a member of CP0 investigating Rocks but met his son and fell in love. Maybe she expulged some of the Celestial Dragons' secrets to Dragon, which led to her death shortly after Luffy's birth. This knowledge could have motivated Dragon into becoming a revolutionary while also giving the World Government reason to brand him as the World's Worst Criminal.

Dragon was in his teens at the time of God Valley incident. He could have been in marines with Garp and Akainu , then it somehow slips he is Rocks child. Celestial Dragons capture Dragon and use him as bait for Rocks. Capture Garps daughter who is also a Marine and use her so Garp has to fight Rocks for the Celestial Dragons. Dragon and Luffys mom captured together? I could see it.

Dragon and Akainu and Garp have something to do with Wano. Dragon and Akainu born 55 years ago when the shimotsuki left Wano. Maybe the village they protected was Garp and Dragons, the samurai protected the village from bandits like that samurai movie. The marine with Garp all the time is named Bogard. He has a cross shaped sword like Zoro and his name backwards Is Dragob.

The way this ties Teach to Dragon through Rocks, potentially, has made me remember that he was VERY interested in finding the location of Baltigo so that he could attack the revolutionaries. We still have no idea what his goal was for wanting to attack them, or why he even cares, and unless it’s for some specific resources he wants to take from them, it could be a personal vendetta. I think that ties into this!

This theory makes so much sense. But one question I had is that why did he start the revolution army? Your statement at the end of the video that Luffy's mother might be Rocks's daughter gave me thought. We know that world government tried to remove/hide all the information regarding Rocks/Rocks Pirates. They might have also tried to kill his lineage which in this case will be Luffy's mother. This might have led the distraught Dragon to for the revolution army to oppose and bring down the world government. As Garp was also int the marines during this time and might not have done anything Like when ace was executed and continue to be in the marines, it might have led Dragon to distance himself from Garp. We saw the interactions between Luffy and Garp but never between Dragon and Garp. (Garp might also know that it might be happening). We also don't know anything about Luffy's mother which might be because the records were erased and ordered to not be discussed. I also got another question while writing this. Why did Rocks pirates attacked World Government/Celestials(I don't recall anyone else other than Luffy and Rocks who knocked down Celestials [Note: Zoro had no problem but wasn't able to or didn't got a chance so])? What if Rocks knew about the Void Century and the past (Prior to our Yonkos joined him)? We know that World Government tends to change how history is told (looking at Alabasta arc) so they might have changed how it's to be told in case it needs to be discussed too.

Japan does not recognize a marrige unless the husband and wife share a last name. 96% of women take the man's name, meaning 4% do not. That's small, but way to big to be irrelavent. If a woman has made a name for herself like Scarlett Johansson, she's probably not going to change it if she marries Collin Jost. America will recognize the marrige if they both keep their names, but Japan would not. If they had been Japanese instead of Americans, they would have had to ask does Scarlett throw away her name just after Endgame, or does the SNL guy become Collin Johansson? It might be rare, but it does happen. I absolutely love this theory. It's a theory where everything makes sense without it being true, but makes even more sense if it is right. It nails the thematic elements of the story making a possible reveal seem natural if unexpected. I hate when a story throws in a twist that comes out of nowhere and makes no sense, it lowers the quality of the story. This doesn't come out of nowhere, it does make sense, and it would elevate the quality of the story.

My theory: Dragon was actually in God Valley when Roger and Garp defeated the Rocks pirates. Garp saw the young Dragon and took him in because Garp knows the marines is going to destroy the island and everything in it. I am assuming Roger witnessed how Garp adopted Dragon to save him from the Marines even though Dragon is the seed of the devil. Therefore making Roger come to the conclusion that he would leave Ace to Garp upon nearing his death, Roger knows full well that Garp is going to do the exact same thing he did for Dragon. My thought I want to share is would that mean that Dragon and Rayleigh are brothers.Buggy once came to a conclusion that Rayleigh is Luffy uncle. To this point Rayleigh looks nothing like Garp and is like 5years younger. Concluding that Rocks had three sons Rayleigh, Dragon, and the youngest Blackbeard who would of Idolized his late Dad. Where as the two oldest grew to resent and fight against Rocks. Wild stupid Theory I know but only thought about it after you made this video. AIso kinda explain why he got TitIe "Dark king" being the first born of the man who wanted to plunge the world into darkness possibly.
