Thank you for this rock solid approach to model gratitude as Christ did! Excellent passages! When my son was discouraged about "going to church" I would first redirect his thinking either "we GET to go to church". I would then reiterate that the church is not the building or even just what goes on in those buildings, but rather that we are the church everywhere we go! I am sure that one day he will see the value of sacrifice I have tried to model for him over the years. It is difficult for me to grasp how important my attitude is while enduring hardship, so I truly do appreciate your direct and gentle reminder to do this, Elizabeth…

Thank you for the reminder. Since the time I’ve learned how important to thank and praise God no matter circumstance I’ve tried passing it to our children. So our prayer life are most of giving thanks to God. Almost our whole prayer are just thanking God and I love how our kids speak words of thanks to Him that even we the parents tends to forget they remind us to just give thanks to Him and always see what’s always good in God. His word is really true to give thanks in all circumstances

We try to make it a rhythm to write stones of remembrance for Who God is & His faithfulness. We keep them in a vase & pull them out periodically to read them & reminisce about God's hand in our life. We are also in the middle of creating a banner of thankfulness where each family member writes or draws something or someone they are thankful for on an index card, & we hang them with miniature clothespins on a string that stretches across a main wall in our home. I love that you mentioned being thankful in suffering & even for difficult or challenging situations & will ask the Lord to help us include that in our future endeavors to cultivate Biblical gratitude in our family.
