I bought a Mixbox when SF6 came out and I loved it at first, but the weight of it is very heavy, used it too in Tekken 8 also. I swapped over to a Haute42 T13 and have been using that instead while the Mixbox collects dust. Downsides is just it's too pricey and it's just too heavy that it hurts if you have it on your lap the whole time. (Obviously will be different if it's on a desk) The WASD layout is great, but since I play on PC and have a brooks adapter for PS5, there is not much reason for me to use the Mixbox over the Haute42 T13.

Those little "extra button" ports inside the door are for the socd toggle switches. They aren't used anymore. SOCD is selected through software now. After updating the firmware, you hold certain buttons while plugging it in to select one of three modes.

I put a GP2040CE PCB in one of my old full size leaverless controllers due to the fact that they are able to remap buttons, and I use it to add an extra right and left on the right side right next to the standard 4 button cluster. It's made a lot of things much more intuitive by splitting the work between the two hands (while still playing normal neutral with the main left hand setup). It's been fun, and I recommend anyone with a spare/old controller give it a shot.

I built mine for $8.74 you could pretty much buy it on any online store app personally I got mine from a PH app. I also bought thick plywood and nails then downloaded a mix box template printed it then stick it to the plywood and all you do is make the holes, If you don't have the drill you can use a chisel like I did but it will take time. Then used my old mechanical keyboard remove the keys then use pliers to make the wires bite the ends of the keyboard pcb legs. As for the buttons its as simple as shoving the lock in the pcb, If you guys are having a hard time understanding me there's a lot of youtube videos on how to make one. TLDR made my own since I'm broke but its pretty good especially for me as a bryan player TJU gets a bit easy and DF 2,1 to side step jet upper as well, Ever since I made it I worked was able to work my way to Bushin. To those who reads this if only I can send a picture here I would to show it to you guys anyways thanks! seeing you taking a deeper dive into leverless on tekken is refreshing to see. I have tried all controller styles, but the wasd i always come back to. I assume its from all the years of mvc2 on emulators back in high school but im not sure. It just works for me better on a comfort level. I remember asking you for help on changing the blue led on the panthera. Well i turned that panthera into a mixbox and i posted it as my only short on my page. I know a lot of people prefer a lighter stick and thats where Haute42 steps in or now the makers of the Golden lever have their own slim leverless. But the guys from Onmi Arcade made the Onmi v2. Its a wasd drop in with a led for $50.and its hot swappable with other kailth v1 switches so i have the 50g whites in mine. Best add on to try the wasd without spending a lot. If you even wanna do cheaper I know people that are using the wasd drop in from Aliexpress for $15 with no issues either. Just have to make sure your stick has some sort of SOCD. Would you consider maybe a long term video series "getting to God or Supreme on Mixbox"?
@alexharris7530Күн бұрын
Default SOCD settings scrub U+D to U on Mix Box, so it's unlikely you'd ever notice it if you intended to press up and pressed both buttons. "Hiding" the up button behind a taller down button might even save you from acidentally hitting SOCD Up when you intended to press down.

As a user of the universal model. It’s really beginner friendly. Aside from the door being really dumb to work with. It’s really easy to put new stuff most especially when it comes to customizing it. I have a custom mixbox (ordered from fightkeys) and it’s served me great, you can specify all the dimensions and layout. I have all my attacks in a line (rage art 1 2 3 4) with heat burst on spacebar, 1+2 on shift, and 3+4 on q. It’s a lot smaller and lighter than the one here, and I do not regret buying. The switches can be swapped out since they’re normal ones, thinking of getting metal ones at the moment. They’re insanely simple to crack open, but the price is fairly steep.

The problem I've noticed with my mixbox, when korean backdashing with the "socd" method that sometimes either the down or right/left key pops out. So I ditched it doing it that way. Also I feel like you have less control of your movement when doing it that way because you are committing to rolling your fingers. I've had more success with just doing it the standard regular way and no keys popping off.

Been rocking a Mayflash F500 almost a decade now and slapped an Odin V2 in that puppy a couple years ago. Both items gonna put you at about 100 USD. As far the JFSR is concerned, I find it's a tad trickier thanks to needing three buttons working together instead of finding your DF directional input on a stick of d-pad. I dunno if I'd describe the move as easier since you can very easily turn your blue stuff into QCF 4 which isn't all that bad for a mis-input compared to accidentally throwing out a standard skyrocket and eating absolute shite with that -18 on block. Just my experience though.

I like the idea, but the up button I just can't in good concious say is worth more than a normal leverless setup where it's on the space position. Best part of leverless for me and many others who have inflammation after toonmuch wear n tear on the controller/lever is that its much less strenuous on the tendons. It depends on what you consider smart. If you don’t really play tekken that much then I wouldn’t get it, however I’ve had this controller for around 3 years and I’ve loved it. I’ve spent probably 1,000 usd on controllers including haute 42 and arcade sticks Korean and Japanese and I can say for certain that this is probably the most comfortable controller for me
@Iwatoda_Dorm2 күн бұрын
@@w_sogeking it is, but i'm sure you also haven't picked up a cheaper smaller lever-less setup because compared to those the mix box sounds unreasonable in concept. No real obstacles to get through with learning curves if you've already adjusted and they're portable with less strain to the middle finger. It does seem like an older product so the price for the size/heft makes sense. I don't see it being used in anything outside of 3d fighting games professionally either since jumping on the space bar position is way more efficient. Overall if the product works, there really isn't much to complain about and it really always comes down to preference 👍 Edit:oh so that's what a Haute 42 :/ then yeah, i'll just consider it as personal preference. Jump button is unintuitive in Tekken because you don't treat it as "Jump" Action in Tekken, you mostly use up button for diagonal motion for attack or side step/walk, and only rarely hold it for jump maybe for like delay hopkick (which was viable in T7 but so bad in T8). So placing "up button" on the bottom to emulate the "jump button" just feel unintuitive and useless, ppl who like it have messed up brain lol (maybe fine for SF game where it map to jump).

@@ZakMon1 I hate the improper punctuation in your original comment. We'll both live.

I’ll spend that much on an arcade stick before I spend it on the mixbox

I found a mixbox that cost me only 65 bucks. Fuck any company that makes me pay over 300 for a controller
