I believe it’s all because the ufc has been doing a terrible job of scouting talent. Ive been saying this since 2020. Contender series and ultimate fighter exist only to try and sign mid level talent that they can pay next to nothing to keep on the roster. The hope is that you find about 1 out of 200 that ends up being a great champion. It’s a strategy that saves the company a ton of money, but eventually it’s going to be nothing but fighters like this on the roster and only .01% of fighters will actually be a great fighter.

There are only about 300 NBA players and it’s a team sport. MMA is a much younger sport. Is it possible that anyone who’s any good has already been recruited by UFC, Bellator, One, or PFL? Most of these guys only get to 7-0, 8-1, or at most 10-1 or 2 before getting signed. It’s rare for guys to get signed after they have proved themselves. The bottom of the ranking is basically becoming regional mma. Fight nights are 80% basically regional talents with a few top 10 guys thrown in. MMA is only 30 years old. Most of the people who will be good are already signed

They'll get their first win next week when Conor's boy throws the fight for Team Chandler so the blue team can get a win

My theory is that McGregor picked these guys to make him look like less of a has-been😂

I think the ufc was trying to get more interest with a veteran comeback story, Last season was to get Mohammed usman as a tuf winner to try and bank off of the “brothers in the ufc” thing, and the Bryan battle season might have actually been the last one where they tried to get good/decent people.

Yeah UFC was banking off the Battle/Gore “beef” when it was just them being hungry as fuck…. Defo closest thing we will get to “old TUF”

Conor got alot of criticism for bringing Hammond on but he’s probably the only guy that really deserves to be there.

I had to rerun TUF 24 seeing as Moreno's fight's coming up, and boy, what a difference in skill level between those competitors and this new lot.

I think the truth is darker than you'd like to acknowledge, Guru... There are plenty of "up-and-comers" and prospects showing talent, but, the glaring reality is, that... They're just not "diverse" enough for the UFC (a.k.a. Disney/ESPN/etc.,), and it's unfortunate.

Lol I don't understand why did Conor choose prospects over vets ? I mean he had first pick right? Like his team didn't do any research 😂

1:27 Contender Series = Talent TUF still = MTV and Drama and there’s none of that in media or TUF anymore so Dana doesn’t even care about the show. This season isn’t even for the fighters it’s just to prolong promotion on the McGregor comeback and always has been

Ufc should do a mix between contender series and tuf where fighters win a season long tournament to get a top 15 rank. Current fighters and new fighters
