ok so yes she should have done the unibrow but y'all forget that Amy is human. i am sure she understands now, that she done goofed. there is a certain way to go about criticizing folks though! on youtube i am sure it can be much easier to be angry & 'attack' someone. i get everyone's perspectives n i ain't trying to argue with any of y'all, cuz i get itttt. i wanna just acknowledge something that some folks also seem to forget. that even if she did acknowledge the unibrow, to even claim that frida would have liked it is an understatement (i am not saying Amy didn't do a good job ok). maybe she would have, but frida hated commercialization and capitalism. KZbin is a big pile of that. yes frida was an empowering woman, but to put her on a pedestal is just bs. i love frida as much as everyone else, but she had her own flaws, just like all of us. whether it be her huge prejudice against white people or being highly judgemental. so yeah, amy should have listened to her parents, yes you're allowed to be disappointed (no one is invalidating you)...i just want to put in a two sense that frida was a woman who loved communism, HATED white people, owned up to her sexuality, was highly judgmental, had a disability, and was also a cheater. so i think my main point is doing anything frida related will ALWAYS be touchy. this comment is no way attacking anyone or Amy ok.

Don't worry about people getting worked over the unibrows, I knew you were Friday Kahlo before I read the title. It's not hard to just add in the unibrow if you're so inclined but I dont think its right to disregard some one else's creativity and POV just because its not how you want it or like the original. Amy is very a runway fashionista so I see this as a runway version of Frida. More power to a fellow woman! 🌹

What makes Frida so special is her signature brows. I think it's important to understand what she stood for and not just use her as a makeup opportunity. There is no "modern Frida". She literally defied odds and beauty standards, she was not trying to fit in with anyone; which let's me know that in modern times, she would also be true to that and embrace herself as she did in her time. While I like your tutorial, this isn't Frida. I think we should stop trying to make people who we want them to be and accept them as they are...

Frida kahlo used her unibrow as a statement to challenge the beauty ideals of that time. This felt like a ”frida kahlo... but ”pretty”” tutorial. Her used pencils ut excentuate her unibrow because she wanted to be seen that way. Which also is easily noticed in her selfportraits. I was very disapointed in this because you seem to be a woman-empowering person but this was exactly the opposite. Taking a person who wanted to make a statement about ideals and being different and make her follow the ideals of today is disrespectful.

While I respect Friday kahlo Amy said several times this was a modern version in my mind Amy is very runway. Unibrows and mustaches were actually a beauty statement in a lot of the South Americas from Mexico and lower for a long time. If You're so worried about supporting women than why aren't we supporting Amy's more runway version of Frida? I hate crapping on some ones creativity.

In a way I think not have the unibrow is rude and disrespectful to Frida because you are trying to make it more “modern” but instead you are continuing the beauty standards that she was fighting AGAINST, which she symbolizes through growing her natural hair out instead of punishing her body to suit the standards of white men.

I'm sorry but this is exactly what frida didnt want to happen. She was opposed to becoming an icon, commercialised like a doll. You literally made her a costume without knowing much about her message and life. Read up on it, shes become a 'white girls symbol' (not my words) for wokeness and girl power yet they know very little about her. Shes more than a woman who grew out her eyebrows and moustache, a pop culture idol or a costume.
