The Modern Jihadists: Khawarij or Mujahideen? ~ Dr. Yasir Qadhi

Are these groups truly rightly guided, merely because they claim to stand up in the face of oppression? Or are they doing more harm by killing innocents, and thus demonstrate 'Kharijite' tendencies (the group that exemplifies Islamic fanaticism, as per the hadith)?
In this scintillating look at the past, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi examines the histories of these movements, tracing their development to the turbulent times of the early 70's in Egypt. In fact, some of the people alive now that are involved in current movements were active in these past movements of three decades ago as well. What lessons can we glean from the precursors to these very movements? How can we avoid committing the same mistakes that those movements did?

The reason why we muslims are facing so many problems and hardship today is because we're not United as an Ummah. You will see muslims killing muslims and they can't see their biggest enemy, don't forget during the battles at the time of RasulAllah (pbuh) there were foundations, rules and laws that had to be followed, i don't see that today so what kind of jihad is it if those who are being killed are innocent women, children and the elderly, when our prophet clearly forbid this. Have people even asked themselves that these sufferings muslims are going through is nothing but a test from Allah, to see who is still just in the land of injustice and who's patient. Once we arw United we will be able to stand up to anything, this moment was foretold by our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and we will not Unite until the Mahdi comes.

bobbydrake07017 Depends. If you follow the opinion that shiite are kaafir murtad then the authorities can give them three days to repent and execute them if they refuse. If they fight then they are to be executed immediately. If you follow the opinion that they are original kuffar then you do nothing until you see clear kufr in which case the same process takes place. Don't confuse valid execution for murder. Or do you deny that the punishment of the sorcerer is death?

Alot of people forget surat 8 and 9 ..do they think Allah(swt) didnt know what we need for guidance and to test us?...only Issa(AS) will stop jizzya but we have to take back our lands and fight until religion is for Allah(swt) Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled. Surat At-Tawbah : 29 And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah . And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do. Surat Al-'Anfāl :39 ...And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. Surat Muĥammad : 4 Fighting has been enjoined upon you..(fighting is obligatory like fasting ..Kutiba 'alaykumu Siyam - Kutiba 'alaykumul Qital) Surat Al-Baqarah : 216

How did Islam bring change? Bottom-up. The whole Ummah needs Islamic education and knowledge; then the people will collectively gravitate towards Islam. Then the rulers that come into power, will have the ethos and intention to go in an Islamic direction, be mindful of his duties and help the Ummah. How is "talking" about the rulers gona create change? You mean protesting and revolutions - the same things that turned Muslim countries upside and in a state of wrecked havoc with no stability. Or the foolish ignorant who take arms and revolt to the destruction Muslim lives and homes? Change starts from the roots, not the surface.
