As far as I remember, Keratin (and as a result your nails) scores a 2.5 on the Mohs scale so you can scratch everything below that with your own hand

Hello, I’m trying to find out if something I own is quartz or fluorite. I used a knife to scratch it and there was very light micro scratches on the surface. Does this confirm that it is fluorite, or does it have to be deep scratches? I applied a medium amount of pressure Edit: just to add the stone is a tumbled stone and appears to be polished
