This is a fucking great movie. I watched it as a teen and really liked it. I watch it at 29 and the message hits so hard and bittersweet. The way bob goes. Typical for those who live fast. Theres no goodbyes. They just vanish....

Every time I watch this movie I think back to my life and i realize how much of a trendy ass poser I really was always thinking I was so goddamn unique just to realize everyone was doing the same thing

@@mr.tryhardguitarguy2842she's wearing a hipster costume so she's a total hypocrite. I dated a chick who would try to deconstruct my identity on the regular, needless to say it's a trait common in college girls who took a couple psychology and postmodernism courses and want to assault a man's means of individuality . I understand the point of the movie was for shaggy to grow up and become an adult but this chick was annoying.

Little does she know that in the punk scene there was always uniform is what identified us as punks Just like other music genres there is always uniform that identified people as such part of a music genre

Explain. I’d say rebellion is just a natural urge you have inside of you, if you just do it to “be” rebellious that’s fake. I’d love to hear a counter example tho maybe I’m missing something

This is a great movie and also has one of the best acting scenes of all time (my opinion). I don't like Matthew Lillard but I can't deny that he really is an amazing actor. He has huge range.

Always liked the reveal of when they were kids, he really was a follower and a poser. He changed because his friend wanted him to. It wasn't a bad reason for doing it, he loved Bob, but once Bob dies he has no need for that facade any longer.

she kind of has a point on the uniform part. you can be punk how matter how you dress, so if you choose to dress to the stereotype bc you like it then so be it🤷♀️ it’s the values that matter

I love this movie and I terrifies me to no end cause I don’t feel like a good enough punk some time 😅. But I will say punk is not rebellion it’s supposed to be like opposition. Punk is an opposing culture like not a rebellion, I equate it to something like the “barbarians” in most “civilized societies. The Visigoth vs Roman culture, the indigenous people vs white people, I mean it’s any culture that the main culture doesn’t believe have culture. Blue hair and the “uniform” is because punks are a culture that was born out of opposition starting all the way since African Americans and blues, both be banned from the main culture of the early 1900s, white Americans. I think also about it in Star Wars terms, punk are the mandalorians and the “normal” society is the galactic republic. Rebellions start from the main culture wanting to change the culture, punks aren’t really interested in changing the culture, just having our own.

What's the difference between between a rebel and being a brat?
