This song always reminds me of my late dog, as I had become a fan of the game soundtrack/album shortly before she passed away. I was 29 when she died; we’d been together for nearly 15 years - half of my life. I remember playing her this song, along with others, on the piano with tears in my eyes as she lied there, sedated by the anti seizure medicine she was on to make her final weeks bearable. I listened to the album as I drove to receive her ashes & again as I returned home with them. Whenever I listen to or play this song, I will always be reminded of her. Rest easy, girl. 😢

What makes this game special is how it treats its open world. Most open worlds are backdrops to showcase your fight against enemies. In Death Stranding, the BTs and the MULEs are the window dressing and the terrain is the real enemy, and the terrain never really stays defeated. By flipping that one switch, it completely changes how the game is experienced, and it creates all the windows for collaborative efforts that can never directly be repaid. The terrain never stays defeated, but with the help of others, neither do you.

I ignored this game because I didn't like MGSV and people called it a Walking Simulator. However, my friend, a die-hard Kojima fan, tried talking me into it for a whole year. I then realized DS2 trailer On the Beach was released but ignored it too. Then... my friend showed me the trailer and the scene with Higgs playing the guitar played. I fucking fell in love with him right there. I called him the Guitarist. Then I got an unofficial version of the game to see what the gameplay is all about. Right before delivering this corpse, I uninstalled it and I sworn I won't touch it unless I have an official version (Steam), Now I have 240 hours in, finished a playthrough, and just enjoying the landscape as I wait for Death Stranding 2 with a Voidout in my heart. Cried my heart out, I needed that.

Halfway through the game and I can only agree what an absolute gem of a game this is.

I hope anyone reading this tries this game in a slightly different way. I tried this new way after two things happened to me. The first was when I was driving into Dis Center South of Lake Knot. I saw those two AI porters as I pulled up to the entrance and I watched them walk off with their orders. I pondered it for a bit before going in, thinking about how they were still walking around while I was driving on roads. The second time is in the second half of the game after you get to the mountains, when you are pushed back into walking where roads can't go, and further on and the difficultly of traversing it all. I loved it. So I tried it over again, this time with no roads, and no wheeled vehicles. It changed my experience quite a bit. I implore you to try this game without the roads and vehicles. To get to the end as you started, on your feet. It is quite something to walk around with just you and your two carriers hauling everything on foot. Having to plan your routes and equipment that much more. Where your Chiral Bandwidth and the limits of what you can build are that much more important. Where you still have to scale the mountain cliffs instead of driving over them. It is MUCH slower paced, but the battle against the environment is that much better, and at least to me, a much more rewarding experience.

This song and the very first one after the cave in prologue carried the game's initial atmospheres impression. They fitted so well for this game's theme so beautifully adapted

This is a unique master piece of gaming world. Nothing is like this. Emotional connections transport you to the a real world, where only the things you fell are the reflexion that you really are. I am talking about the history, art, creativity, music as the very unique game.

This game is beyond incredible and the amount of people that either won’t give it a chance or say it’s too long is disappointing because this game is truly one of the greatest games I have ever played

This shit fucked me up. My mom committed suicide back in I think 2012. I ended up with a portion of her ashes. Years later I wound up homeless, decided to hitch hike from the east coast to Colorado. Wrapped my mother's ashes in a shirt, bubble wrap, and a bunch of duct tape. Kept her in the bottom of my pack. 6 months later I make it Colorado and stayed with my sister fer a while. Left the ashes with her. I dunno, this part of the game just fucked me all the way up. Seeing Sam's mom, how fuckin heavy she is on his back.. Keep on keepin on.

Thanks for sharing this video it's from the beginning of the game. Death Stranding... What a complete masterpiece. It can take the simplest of tasks and transform that into a complete journey/adventure that has you teetering on the edge of success or failure at any given step if not taking great care. What an interesting concept that focuses on staying present in every moment, but yet you can also let the controller lay idle and chill in the world and literally rest while you are surfing KZbin or eating or chilling with your cat LoL. Had been curious about it for a while before finally purchasing and eventually playing into completion. People either love it or hate it but for me, what a unique and deep experience which I feel more people need to learn to appreciate. The music soundtrack is so unique as well.. And to my knowledge you never actually kill anyone when playing the game which is a nice departure from call of duty style games. When watching your video I realized now the significance of that body on his back and who it is and how they connect, but when first playing the game you don't know that stuff yet so it's cool the way they created and designed everything so what caused me to realize that were the lyrics in the song playing. The genius of this from the creators is what makes this game special. Furthermore what made this video a deep and spine tingling experience for me was when you were walking up to the incinerator area, I realized also the last time I played this game and heard this song my beloved kitty of ten years companionship was still alive and by my side she was always with me. So the whole concept of the death stranding game came full circle to my own experience, I miss Pookie so much and I felt a connection to her after realizing and connecting all of this near the end of your video. Because now she is not here to hear it with me anymore but I know she does hear it with me because she lives on in another way now! We are still connected even though I can't hold her in my hands and arms, I hold her ever closer now in my heart and our connection. I know she is in heaven and is in perfect joy now but just wanted to say, thanks for sharing this video it was a nice deep meaningful experience for me. I love you so much Pookie!
