I was staying in a pretty remote community in Northern Quebec and my friend would drive so fast on the highways cause they were usually empty. At one point he was going 180kph and while turning going into the other lane, slowing down just a bit for the turns. I never got in a car with him again. Suspects blow through like 30 stop signs, race through multiple residential areas, weave in and out of traffic at over 100 mph, have to be run off the road to end the chase, and have a loaded gun with a bullet in the chamber. I think that a legitimate invention for upcoming cop cars is going to be a version of road spikes (maybe a whip or lasso) which is deployable from behind in a chase. Similar technology, such as the grapple, exists already and proves to be quite effective. We could do some cool stuff with a long rope though, I think a road spike whip could be a legit invention to pop tires on a car.
