No it's literally the greatest FM skin ever even if it's subjective - literally used to laugh at the idea of an attributeless skin and now I don't think I can play FM without it (esp important w/ FM25 around the corner - I'm going to be sticking it out with FM24 for a long, long time.) And the scaling is genuinely unbelievable, can't imagine how much work it is as I play in windowed mode and sometimes to multi-task will scale it to some weird resolutions, and it still works so perfectly. You're a legend.

@@mustermannfm Another "WOW" was just had. Absolutely beautiful. I can see how this could have been missed. But god, is this wonderful! I love how the initial analyst click forces me to click on the scout report too. I'm expecting to uncover something and there it is. And above all else, the way you've presented the data across the two is just intuitive. The additional hidden click to switch the analyst report from 'Total' to a 'per game' basis. I think i might have to spend an hour clicking through the skin to see what else I might uncover.

@@themightied ironically the scout report section is the reason I didn't make a big thing about it. It doesn't quite do what I wanted it to. If you've scouted a player by games (rather than weeks/full knowledge) then you get a summary of the games watched and can view highlights. This should pull through when you click on the scout report section, but for some reason it will only work if you go to the specific subpage first. Which kind of defeats the point. One of those things that sadly I can't work out to get exactly as I want.

@@mustermannfm hmm i might be misunderstanding your intention but i believe I'm seeeing what you've described above... On two seperate reports; after asking my director of football to scout players. i navigate to their profiles, click reports and then Scout rating. Towards the bottom right i can watch the three games that have been scouted. ADENDUM: I wrote the above yesterday and now that I have gone back to check, the issue you have described is present. I can no longer see what is intended unless I click into the scout subpage, then back out into the overview to see the matches watched. Which, as you infer, is redundant. It might have been a situation where I had already navigated to the scoutting subpage in the reports before clicking on the over view. But either way, honestly, it doesnt take away from the value you have created.

You can search through them, so just a term like "xG" won't just give you explainers but also articles that analyse players and show its application in a practical sense. Firstly, thank you!! Whilst it's something I've considered, I am simply not knowledgeable enough. A lot of work is brute force, and trying to explain something when you don't necessarily understand yourself why certain things work in one place but not another, is just the blind leading the blind. Moreover, with the change to Unity, I expect the underlying code to change. Perhaps I should've started making videos/skins a few years earlier!

Great skin. About the dribbles, I feel there's a misunderstanding somewhere. FM shows dribbles as take-ons (1v1) not as carries, I believe. So a SV should have a lot of carries but not necessarily take-ons

A dribble in FM is carrying the ball past a player. It is neither a 1v1 nor a progressive carry, but some weird in-between, as can be seen by watching the dribbles through the chalkboard. Moreover, Francho has the Dribble More instruction, and those in that system at PAOK had approximately double. I should've said "I expect a Segundo Volante IN MY TACTIC".

How good a laptop do you need to run this? To be honest it’s a bit too much for the level of FM I like to play (though I love your channel and the new perspective it gives me in the game) but I might give it a try. My laptop is a bog standard HP I bought 6/7 years ago for college. I know nothing about computers but I can tell you the battery is shot and it sometimes sounds like it’s about to take off and feels like it’s about to catch fire

Well I'd always be wary of running anything when you're worried that it might catch fire, but I realise that's not the question here. The skin doesn't really make any difference in terms of system requirements, but obviously it is beneficial to run leagues at full detail which can, of course, have higher demands.

New to the skin, incredible work, and after almost 20 years of playing FM it feels like a new game. I do have a question. When trying to track the progress of my youth team squads, the only place I can see an individual player's (limited) data is by looking at the overall coaching report, and then expanding the analysis tab inside the coach report. I think it offers eight pieces of data. However, there is nothing inside player performance. Granted, you can look in the form tab of the reports section and it offers goals and assists, but is there a way of seeing the bar charts and pizza charts of a player playing youth competitions? Or is this unavailable because the standard of competition is low?

No...the game does not properly record advanced metrics for youth players viewable at a profile level. This is a limitation of the game, I'm afraid. You can easily assess player performance, however, by looking for outliers in their respective youth competition -> Player Detailed stats page

That will be dependent on the stadium images. Either depending on the pack, or the stadium, it will sometimes be smaller than the container on the home screen. These are not scaled up deliberately, because it can do some funky things with aspect ratios.

@@emersonbeats2641 another idea - a very general one - is any team in Serie A. It's probably the most diverse in terms of different formations used by the starting managers, and so you have a lot more that you need to adapt to.

Just a question after I’ve been using the skin for a little while now - are the percentile rankings dynamic or are the thresholds based off of your aggregated database? How does the skin know which leagues are active and at what detail level if so?

It is covered in the FAQs 😉 The pizza charts are static. 5.80 headers from a centre-back will always be in the 75th percentile, for example. Comparing the Top 20 leagues (according to globalfootballrankings.com) was chosen based on initial tests that indicated consistency between what is good. E.g. A top dribbler in the Championship will complete roughly the same amount of dribbles at a top dribbler in La Liga. From 21st ranked league down, there was a notable drop-off. You can expect a player making the jump from Championship to La Liga might see a regression in their performance, of course. And part of the challenge (in real-life, too) is identifying how much of a drop off you believe that might end up being. The skin itself does not know which leagues are active or on full detail. You will, however, be able to see it quite easily as certain metrics are not recorded accurately (or in some cases, at all). It is a different data set to the Moneyball Clinic, but same methodology. MC came after, and I required different data and a wider set of leagues to be assessed. For example, the data set for the skin didn't require players names. I needed unique ID as this distinguished between players with the same name, but their actual name doesn't help with determining thresholds. When it came to doing MC, knowing the player's name was suddenly a lot more useful! And so on.

Let's assume for this example you are using Dark Mode. You open Mustermann Iconic 1.2 Dark/settings/Mustermann Iconic Dark Settings.xml in a text editor, such as Notepad. You use the find function (Ctrl + F) to find "low attribute". This is the section where you define the colours. Where it says value, you enter the rgb value for the colour you want. If you don't know the rgb value you want, open up something like paint. Find the colour you want, and then look at the rgb values. You enter those where it says value. For example: You do this for each classification. They are all together in the file.

This includes making sure that caching is turned off when reloading and resetting the game after loading the skin. Secondly, have you played competitive games? Pizza charts won't populate until there is performance data to fill them

There are no further updates planned. You will need to edit panels/non_player/non player profile.xml. In it the sections for wages and contract are annotated. Adjust the inset to suit.

Might be a dumb question, but how do I factor in how various things might be impacting the stats? For example, the stats of players in a high pressing team will have more slightly inflated # of pressures compared to a less pressing team, which might have the perfect intense BWM for me but I’ll never catch that in the data because his team never asked him to press that much

The nipple charts and percentage based metrics can be helpful in understanding a player's capacity for doing things well but, like in real life, if you're trying to sign a player who does not currently play in the same type of system as you, there is always going to be an element of risk.

Either target places that you think will produce quality players, those that you plan on managing in or with links to those you are managing in. Balancing detail with processing speed is ultimate down to your rig and play speed.

The stats don't change. They still performed the same number of those metrics. The bars change as the players are now being compared to a specific player group rather than the entire pool of players. Why are the same metrics used for each position? It's covered in the link in the FAQs, which explains the Smarter Scout pizza charts these are inspired by. Pizza Charts are there to give a high level overview. As football is a fluid game, players contribute in multiple facets, and being able to see a high level overview of how an attacker contributes out of possession, or how a defender contributes in the attacked phase is useful to identify the holistic profile of a player.

It is possible, yes. You'll have to do it yourself. I haven't designed the skin with player faces on the tactics pitch, so you'll be able to find guidance on how to do it over on the SI Forums. Which has a dedicated skinning area, and a specific thread - "Random & Small Skinning Questions".

Absolutely love the skin! However, right now i'm in the midst of transitioning to another skin for a network game where i want to use another skin. No matter which other skin i use i still can't see attributes on some screens, namely in the scouting section (it shows some green circles) and on staff profiles. It doesn't matter if i use another custom skin or the default one. I have tried removing the skin from the skins folder, to no avail. Do you (or anyone else) know how to fix this? :)

Yes! Switch to the new skin. Close FM. Open FM. This skin changes the properties files which are only loaded when the game boots up.

I so wish there was a skin that divided well over two monitors. For example on match day, one screen could have the match while stats can be on the other. This would also be great for streamers as certain info can be taken and customised for the stream.

There's never a better time to learn how to do it than now... ...well actually maybe not. New UI/engine in 3 months time means it might actually be the worst time to learn thinking about it!

You'll need to change every instance of attribute_circle to attribute_label within all the files inside the skin. You'll then probably need to realign everything, and change the font style and colours. There may be entire pages you need to rearrange.

How do you change from light to dark? It’s defaulted to light

There are two skins in the download. One called dark, one called light. Select the one called Dark when changing skins.

Make sure you have the right files in the skins folder, as per the installation guide: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGm2kH-LqtaMqKM. If you want Dark Mode then the path should be Football Manager 2024/skins/Mustermann Iconic 1.2 Dark

I'm afraid not, no. Steam is not a very friendly platform for FM skins with multiple options (in this case colour themes and translation files). You can download from the various links in the description.

Depends what you mean. Do you have to sign players undervalued by the market as identified by stats? No. Is the skin (pseudo-)attributeless only? Yes.

Dude, why don't you include a formation with players with their ratings for both teams after the match, like other skins do. That's literally only objection I have.
