I Just love these old time Bugs Bunny Kool Aid Ads but especially the one in which Bugs Bunny falls in the water at the Beach That one's the best bell toller of them all with me.But The Monkees in any ad are also fun for nostalgia's sake I met Peter Tork a # of times and Mickey Dolenz once now I'll have to meet Mike Nesmith but sadly and without saying I can't meet Davy Jones and no sooner had I consulted Pter on Facebook to Bring Davy the next time,he'd come to Framingham again than he had died

I love the Monkees... and I'm a millennial lol. 😄 I tried to watch the show whenever it came on TV. Also the random UFO with kids coming out of it is awesome!

They did these commercials for the reruns of their show that was running on CBS Saturday mornings in 1969. Also, notice they did some of the commercials on the sets where they did the movie "Head", there's also one where they are all in the desert. Peter Tork had left the group at that time, so they were shot in the summer of 1969.

General Foods did co-sponsor the show's repeats on CBS in 1969-'70, and, of course, the custom was for the boys to deliver an "integrated" commercial for Kool-Aid during the show.

This is referenced in the Animaniacs episode, "Back in Style," when the characters from Looney Tunes have been unemployed since Warner Bros. had to close down their animation department forever meaning that the only gig they had left was to appear in a flavored beverage commercial, and Mr. Plotz had to use Yakko, Wakko and Dot for loanout deals by sending them into other cartoon studios until he had enough money to keep the studio profitable.

I love Micky's pained look/laugh when delivering that hackneyed line, "Nobody here but us Monkees." Obviously, ad execs never caught it.

I own both volumes of Rhino's Monkees DVD box set. It included several commercials featuring the Monkees, but not this one. I wonder why.

@sneezepal I thought I was the only one who noticed it!! LOL You can tell that at least Micky was getting kind of tired of the Monkee machine at this point. If you see all of their Kool Aid commercials, he does more or less the same thing in all of them.

A few of the Monkees episodes took place in old west towns. I think it was a UFO the kids got out of. I don't know why Bugs Bunny was there,either. But hey, the commercial didn't need to make sense. It was the 60's, man!

David Elliott Kool Aid was using Bugs Bunny in their commercials at the time, so I guess they thought it'd be cool if he joined the Monkees.
