Primordial deserves that first place spot, I’m sure everyone has their grievances but it cannot be understated how incredible this monster is. Also, plus on the Magalas taking up the other two spots, also deserved. Thanks CR-Volcanic for this community ranking, it’s great seeing a properly condensed ranking list, didn’t seem like many people meme voted for monsters so I can always appreciate people wanting their *actual* favorites to be high up, and it showed the true feelings more openly whilst not necessarily shafting the all of the leads in the Official Poll.

Absoluetly phenomenal excuse to fight Primordial again lol. Also Glavenus is crowned best Brute Wyvern and jumps up a whopping 10 places from it's already impressive score, unbelievably proud of my favorite guy 😊

What a huge undertaking this must have been. Thank you CR for bringing the community together and giving us all something to hold onto during the long wait for Wilds, and well done on this massive project going so well. Now for the endemic life rankings to get us the rest of the way to the end of February, right?

What a pleasure witnessing the sheer passion and love to this series on both sides with overwhelming positivity. I believe this re-rank favorite monster series is definitive proof that no monster is truly bad. Rather, a genuine collective testament that every one of them has at least 1 unique trait that makes them stand out in one way or another to ultimately define their image as a monster. Grounded or over the top? Like or dislike? Construct your own critique as you desire. But at the end of the day, when the monster is cool, that's the best part of the feast. And this one right here that CR-Volcanic cooked up for us? MMM! SO TASTY! Thanks a ton! It was a blast! On a final note, thank you all for convincing me to resume my World save file so I can catch up on everything I've been missing out on lol

47:27 Hey it's me again! Man, what a journey this has been, every single monster getting their well-deserved due in spite of where they all ranked. Even if my personal favorites like Teostra and Rathalos didn't make the top 20, I'm glad to see Glavenus make it to 15th place to make up for it. That said, all others ranked in their respective spots earned them diligently, even the lowest-ranked ones, because there's always gonna be someone to appreciate at least one of every monster in this series

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s been an honor and a delight to be here from the start to its climatic finish. From starting at the bottom of the list with Cephadrome to capping off with Primodial Malzeno taking first place, the last eight months have surely been a journey seeing how this whole project would come to fruition. It’ll likely be a long time before something like this ever happens again with this series so for now, let us be content with the results of this community event. I could gush about how much a lot of my favorites still made it into the top 20, like both Malzeno’s and Valstrax, but I think the results speak for themselves. It’s almost bittersweet to see it ending, but I’m happy to still be here with the journeys finale. For when one ends begins begin Be proud if you had your comments read and your voices heard, and remember to always be kind to one another - for we all share the love of this series and it’s fantastic creatures. Truly, it’s been an honor, Connor. And to all you lovely people as members of this community. Cheers. 💙

Honestly, taking part in these polls has been incredibly fun, and writing out my opinions on every boss in the series (that I’ve fought at least, which was surprisingly most of them) has been incredibly cathartic. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this Connor. With that being said, I’ll will now use this time to post my own personal 100% completely objective Monster Hunter Monster Ranking™. I will obviously not be including any monster in the series I haven’t fought (or in the case of Fatalis, haven’t fought the best version of them), and I won’t be including any monster variations (except Allmother, who I will be including over her base version as she is what I consider to be the definitive version of the fight), as I have quite different criteria as to what makes a good monster versus a good variation. If you disagree with any of my placements… sucks to be wrong I guess. F Tier (1 stars) 120 - Zorah Magdaros - This shouldn’t count as a boss-fight 119 - Gendrome - This would be a D-tier subspecies (also your kids are more famous than you) 118 - Iodrome - Lives for way too long for what it is 117 - Bulldrome - 2 attacks 116 - Giadrome - The best of the Velocidrome clones, but that’s not saying much 115 - Cephadrome - Please actually fight me D Tier (2 stars) 114 - Velocidrome - Funny that all the dromes ended up in a row like this, almost like they’re bad or something 113 - Tzitzi-Ya-Ku - You’re an environmental hazard with a boss-fight 112 - Great Jagras - The punchiest of punching bags 111 - Basarios - Way too slow version of a better monster 110 - Jyuratodus - Boring C Tier (3 stars) 109 - Great Baggi - Worst dog wyvern 108 - Volvidon - Has never felt satisfying to fight 107 - Yian Kut-Ku - Good tutorial for MH1, not much more 106 - Great Girros - Best pact tactics, eh fight 105 - Gypceros - Better Kut-Ku (not by much tho) 104 - Xeno’Jiiva - Who would have thought that a newborn isn’t that satisfying of an opponent 103 - Dalamadur - Great spectacle, wears thin VERY quickly 102 - Lao-Shan Lung - Just… let them do something 101 - Hypnocatrice - Truly one of the bird wyverns of all time 100 - Monoblos - Diablos without any of their modern improvements 99 - Barroth - Great introduction to differing hitzones, but fight tends to drag as a result 98 - Arzuros - Love you as an animal much more than as a boss 97 - Kulu-Ya-Ku - Pretty solid tutorial monster for World 96 - Dodogama - See Arzuros 95 - Nibelsnarf - Fun to bully, okay to fight 94 - Khezu - STOP SCREAMING 93 - Lagombi - Best of the bear trio 92 - Ceadeus - Worse Lagi 91 - Nakarkos - Amazing concept, needs to fight back more 90 - Dire Miralis - Amazing design, kinda just a giant Fatalis where you constantly whack their tail 89 - Odogaron - I’m sorry, they’re just way too easy! 88 - Paolumu - Very endearing flyer half the time, boring as shit the other half 87 - Gravios - The ultimate teacher about preparation and part-breaking, even if it leaves them somewhat annoying 86 - Plesioth - For the record, it’s the underwater fight in 3U that got them this high 85 - Lavasioth - GEE, IT SURE IS WEIRD THAT THEY WEREN’T IN WORLD AND WE HAD THAT LAVA JYURATODUS INSTEAD 84 - Uragaan - Over-hated, but another monster does completely outclass you 83 - Blangonga - Monkey middle child 82 - Banbaro - One trick pony, but it is a very fun trick 81 - Legiana - G1eatShad0w, please don’t kill me for this 80 - Lunastra - Cool reinterpretation of what was previously just weaker Teostra… but that Hypernova 79 - Ukanlos - Great retooling of Akantor’s moveset, but digs a bit too much 78 - Great Izuchi - Love the idea of a true pack monster, wish the pack wasn’t so easy to deal with 77 - Duramboros - I’M SORRY, but your fight could really do with something more B Tier (4 stars) 76 - Great Jaggi - The best punching bag 75 - Great Wroggi - Cowboy raptor > Non-cowboy raptor 74 - Royal Ludroth - Good introduction to the leviathans 73 - Beotodus - The best piscine (low bar, I know) 72 - Tetsucabra - Creative way to teach about both shifting weak-point and part-breaks 71 - Tigrex - Desperate need of a Rise-Rathalos treatment 70 - Seltas - The best tutorial monster at being a tutorial 69 - Tetranadon - Great Jagras if they actually fought back 68 - Rathian - Peaked in 4th gen 67 - Aknosom - Yian Kut-Ku if they were interesting 66 - Radobaan - The aforementioned Uragaan-outclasser 65 - Wind Serpent Ibushi - You’re mainly up this high for the music 64 - Daimyo Hermitaur - Really cool change of pace for the time 63 - Kecha Wacha - Conveys such great personality through the fight 62 - Nerscylla - Great usage of several ailments without being overwhelming 61 - Somnacanth - The best way to use sleep is to use it sparingly 60 - Vaal Hazak - Peak gimmick, PEAK design, okay fight 59 - Qurupeco - One of the most memorable gimmicks in the series 58 - Congalala - Haha funny poo, poop funny, WEEEEEEEEEE 57 - Anjanath - Great at scaring new World players shitless 56 - Diablos - I love you, but can you please let Monoblos have a turn? 55 - Tobi-Kadachi - Incredibly charming monster and fight 54 - Pukei-Pukei - Really fun re-interpretation of Congalala’s gimmick 53 - Lunagaron - Great fight, even if the moveset does tend to blend together A tier (4 stars…still) 52 - Dah’ren Mohran - The best siege the series has ever done 51 - Gigginox - Actually pretty horrifying 50 - Agnaktor - Some of the best use of burrowing + Lava armour that functions properly 49 - Gobul - Most creative usage of underwater combat 48 - Akantor - BEEG TIGREX 47 - Najarala - Probably the most unique non-elder in the series 46 - Gammoth - GU couldn’t quite do her justice 45 - Rathalos - Deserves to be the mascot 44 - Barioth - Would be perfect if they still had that ambush dive 43 - Chameleos - They’re just a silly lil’ guy who steals your shit 42 - Kushala Daora - Had a tumultuous history, but you’re in a really good spot now 41 - Shogun Ceanataur - Bastard 40 - Lagiacrus - Best underwater fight, but PLEASE PUT HER IN A NEW GAME 39 - Yian Garuga - One of the most aggressive and frantic fights in the series 38 - Almudron - Punishes longsword users, and for that I’m thankful 37 - Malfestio - Confusion needs to be used by more monsters. Also, OWL 36 - Seltas Queen - Two great WTF moments in one fight 35 - Bazelgeuse - Duh-duh, duh-duh-duh-duh-duh duh-duh duh-duh, DUH-DUH-DUH-DUH! 34 - Safi’Jiiva - Amazing feeling of chasing down an opponent, wished it was something I could experience outside of multiplayer 33 - Steve - 2 words: Automatic sharpening 32 - Magnamalo - Amazing fight, but not a great Monster-Hunter monster 31 - Kirin - A good fight, y’all are just bad 30 - Garangolm - Amazing progression of difficulty over the course of the fight S tier (5 stars) 29 - Deviljho - Not my cup of tea design-wise, but I can’t undersell how important they are 28 - Velkhana - Overall, just a pretty ~cool~ fight (I’ll see myself out) 27 - Gogmazios - The first giant monster to really feel like an actual fight 26 - Great Maccao - Probably doesn’t deserve to be THIS high, BUT F*CK U THIS IS MY LIST, I’M PUTTING MY FUNNY KANGAROO RAPTOR IN S TIER! 25 - Gaismagorm - Funny fail demon 24 - Shara Ishvalda - Scary 4th-wall demon 23 - Allmother Narwa - A bullet hell in the best way possible 22 - Espinas - Somehow made 3 ailments to an attack really fun 21 - Goss Harag - It’s a bear… with KNIVES 20 - Rajang - Respect to the most infamous monster in the series 19 - Nargacuga - Still the most satisfying monster to I-frame 18 - Brachydios - 2 words: Slime weapons 17 - Glavenus - We need more weapons re-interpreted as monsters 16 - Nergigante - Your fan boys are annoying, but you’ve probably earned them 15 - Bishaten - Love using their own arsenal against them 14 - Zinogre - Fun fact: Hating a popular thing doesn’t automatically make you an interesting person 13 - Gore Magala - Still the best integration of a flagship into their game’s story 12 - Astalos - Retooling the charging gimmick in an incredibly creative new way 11 - Teostra - The monster who just keeps getting better 10 - Alatreon - Yeah, I know I only gave them a 4 in the poll (and I stand by that). However, divorcing them from Escaton, they are one of the most fun monsters to fight in the series 9 - Namielle - Absolutely f*cking gorgeous 8 - Amatsu - The single best spectacle in the series, as it actually fights back 7 - Rakna-Kadaki - Amazing combination of several amazing gimmicks 6 - Ahtal-Ka - She pulls out a F*CKING MECH 5 - Zamtrios - Simultaneously cool and goofy, what’s not to love? 4 - Malzeno - Taking the best parts of previous flagships and putting them all into one near perfect package 3 - Valstrax - Sometimes, rule of cool really does apply 2 - Shagaru Magala - The best rival in the entire series 1 - Mizutsune - F*CKING BUBBLES Edit: Yeah Primordial, you f*cking earned that number one spot. I can't think of a single fight in the series that was more fun to learn the timings of their moves and find a way to counter them. They are relentlessly aggressive with a great building tension that is an absolute BLAST to go up against.

Primordial reigns supreme! Congratulations. I personally wasn't expecting you up there, but you did amazing. What a way to end off the vote, with the final monster added to 5thgen. 👏 Moving on, good evening, everyone. This is it. We've come a long way, and I am grateful to have been here. I felt like i was truly part of something big. And man, was I invested. It's probably a bit too much with the final two. I hope i didn't upset or bore people too much with my opinions. Everything is subjective. Now then. Let's get into my top 20. One last ride, one last paragraph. 20 - *Great Maccao, the shadowboxer* It is easily the most exhilarating and joy inducing beginner monster. (Or monsters in general) Supported by a wonderful design and amazing soundtrack. Whenever I'm fighting him, i'm always smiling from ear to ear. "HE'S PUNCHING ME, MUM!" 19 - *Grimclaw Tigrex* My favourite deviant as you might know and one of my 3 mains in Stories 2. Granted, the biggest reason I love him this much is because I probably have some kind of pain fetish, but he looks awesome. He fights awesome, and he is *awesome* 18 - *Astalos, The electric Rebel* Nothing can describe the amount of pleasure it is fighting him and listening to THAT soundtrack. DUN DUN DUUN, DUN DUN DUUN It's that good. The Dragonfly-Dragon with very obvious anger issues. Once i was yeeted across the zone by one of his wing attacks, i knew i was in for a treat. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a powerline." 17 - *Amatsu, God of the storm* A force of nature. You guys have to thank her for Zinogre being hunted today. She drove them into our territory. The theme captures exactly what Amatsu represents: a deity, calm but powerful. And that plays a big factor in final bosses in my eyes. You want to remember the first time you brought it down. And that it very much did. This is what i think Capcom really envisioned with Elder Dragons. 16 - *Valstrax, the silver Comet, the red Star.* You know I love birds, even for something as ridiculous and insane as Valstrax, he counts. This is the only monster in my rankings where i let the "Rule of Cool" slide. I'm calling it now. He's gonna be in the top 5 again. Heck, i would be fine if he ends up being number 1, unlike Nergigante or Gore. (Well this aged poorly) 15 - *Kulve Taroth, Golden Empress* Mommy...I..I mean Kulve Taroth perfected the siege fights. The RNG, sometimes INCOMPETENT randoms, and the sieges switching aside, never has been a hammer main been so rewarding. I, in fact, have hunted her so many times that I never get hit anymore, and I finish the quest in like 8 minutes. Combined with design, the damn equipment and music... *Smash, next question* 14 - *Chameleos, Phantom of Cuteness* The goofiest and derpiest thing ever. Dodogama? I've never heard of it. And i swear he's vibing to his own theme. 13 - *Athal Ka, golden psycho Mantis* The BEST end-boss in any video game i ever had the pleasure of playing. You do not expect an insect of all things to be impressive... until she starts throwing iron girders, dragonators, a giant wheel, that she HANGS ONTO while it moves, and a MECH at you. This wasn't the end of just GU, but an entire era of monster hunter. The end of the old games. And while i have my doubts about her ever returning, I'd be lying if I didn't want it to happen. 12/11 - *Violet Mizutsune* / *Abyssal Lagiacrus* The Rarespecies of my 2 favourite monsters. Hmhm, spoiler, i know, but i actually don't have a lot to say because the rest is saved for said monsters. Definitely the better colorschemes and amazing fights, but that's pretty much it. Now, drumroll, please... 10 - *Gammoth, the walking Mountain* Oh yes, let's talk about the elephant in the room. I adore Momma Gamms that much i actually put her in because there's simply nothing like her, and just like birds, i hold elephants in very high regard. They are frighteningly smart but fascinating nonetheless. Just please, PLEASE BE IN WILDS. I want to see her choke a Tigrex to dea...that came out wrong. I just want to see the Mammoth in modern graphics. And in regards to Pc players, a polygon Gammoth would be hilarious. 9 - *Namielle, Master of the tide* It's not my favourite Elder Dragon. I know, WHAT A LIAR, but hear me out. She ticks off all the boxes: Design, Fight, Equipment, Soundtrack, Visuals, Sound design, Ecology. All that, except for one. And you'll see what and why shortly. 8 - *Barioth, the White Knight* He has dropped a bit in my rankings, but everything I said still stands. It's a hard but fair fight. And stupidly fun. It's still the best Pseudo Wyvern, in my opinion. But please STEP OFF THE PIANO. (As in reference to his theme where the piano goes insane) 7 - *Primordial Malzeno, Legend resurrected* The only thing Namielle is missing... is Story and Lore. And I've already gone into great detail of what made Malzeno the best Flagship by a mile for me, even compared to other famous flagships. He also has that personality the others are lacking in. What an end to the best story in Monster Hunter, in my very biased opinion. 6 - *Malfestio, Paladin Cohoot* What a magnificent boi. This was Tobi Kadachi before Tobi Kadachi. It's a God damn Magician Owl. Of course he's in my top 10! A unique status effect, that unlike other people, I really love, stellar equipment, and again, IT'S AN OWL! At number 5... Ahem...hello?...WAKE UP DAMMIT *Sigh* 5 - *Espinas, sleeping Death* The Flagship of Frontier. I had the honour of experiencing it, and Espinas was already one of my favourite monsters from there. A striking design, even for a Flying Wyvern, a stand-out. Iconic sleeper and the bane of Kushala Daora. He really could not care less, though, because he knows he's powerful, and as a result, he's extremely lazy. He's got a frigging dad bod! But when disturbed, he becomes a raging alcoholic that acts like he's been off the meds or something like that. 4 - *Tobi Kadachi, the flying Spark* My boi, my sweet summer child. Determined, fearless, brave, smart, handsome. He's everything I'm striving to be. Jhokes aside, though, he's really everything I wanted from a Monster Hunter Monster. And I can't believe how you all treated him in this vote. Just wait. Eventually, there will be a Black Dragon Kadachi. Then we will see who has the last laugh! 3 - *Seregios, Harbinger of Pinecones* King of the underdogs. Overshadowed by the Magalas. Up there with Gammoth as the most screwed over Flagship. But ma man has been done justice! I'm proud of us all. May he return in Wilds WITHOUT Gore. 2 - *Mizutsune, the soap Fox* As you might know, he's probably the biggest reason for my girlfriend and I getting together in the first place. We farmed his equipment for 2 days straight. No sleep or anything. We definitely screwed our sleep schedules back then, but man, I didn't care. I am eternally grateful for her being in my life, and without her, I would have been in a much, MUCH worse place than I am now. Mizutsune isn't a fight. It's a *bewitching dance* . And also a playdate, in the most literal sense. And at Number 1 *Lagiacrus, Lord of the seas* Even against my mother's approval, my father used to watch the Jurassic Park movie movies over and over with me at like 2 to 3 years old. He would always buy me books and magazines related to dinosaurs, and as a result, i became obsessed with palaeontology. The Day I saw Lagi on the cover of monster hunter tri, in that store, 14 years ago, HE bought me the game without even having to ask. That moment is ingrained in my memory. I was the happiest child in the world that day. Lagi is at Number one, not because he was my first flagship, not because tri was my first game. He actually wasn't the reason I got into Monster Hunter. He wasn't the reason I met my friends or girlfriend in the first place. All that I have to thank my father for. And to honour him, Lagiacrus will NEVER AGAIN leave the top spot. Rest in peace, Dad. You were a great man, a greater friend, and an even greater father. I'll always love and cherish you for indirectly changing my life for the better. Before you ask. I'm okay. My life has indeed changed for the better since his death ( December 27th, 2017 if anyone cares to know), and it's thanks to the people around me ever since I became a hunter. Some of us go way back to like 2012. I'm really lucky, and I will never take this for granted. And you should too. Be around the people you love. And live your life. We only got one of them. Thank you all for reading. Thanks, CR-Volcanic, for this amazing project. Until we see each other again. I'm not always typing comments (shyness), but I'm trying to always be present and listening. Have a wonderful night and HAPPY HUNTING.

Man, even Teostra is dressed up for the occasion. It’s been pretty fun going through this whole poll, it’s given alot of monsters the attention they missed out on during the official poll. Since everyone’s giving their lists of monsters, imma do the same for my top 15 monsters because 10 just isn’t enough. 15. Monoblos - A really cool designed monster, desperately needs to return. 14. Nerscylla - an awesome spider monster, the original spider at that, the fact that it uses another monsters skin as it’s armor is super unique and it something more monsters need to do. 13. Espinas - it’s probably one of the best Frontier monsters around, it’s got a unique gimmick with the sleeping and lethargy before it just goes crazy. Plus it’s able to go toe to toe with Kushala and likely win. 12. Nakarkos - it a cuttlefish that uses uses the bones of other monsters as armor and weapons. What’s not to love? 11. Seregios - a hyper active flying Wyvern that doesn’t spend 90% of the fight raining ranged attacks and wasting time? Sign me up, it’s a fun fight and cool design. 10. Ahtal-ka - I haven’t fought this one yet, I’ve been slow with GU, but I cannot ignore a golden Mantis that uses human weapons as tools for itself and rides a giant mecha. That’s the most badass thing ever, and if the fights great shoot this gal up to the top 5. 9. Seltas Queen - a monster I fought a lot in GU for the armor set, it’s fun to fight and her synergy with the much weaker Seltas makes them a pioneer to what World brought to monster interaction. 8. Gammoth - Another monster that needs to return, Gammoth is a cool fight, and is a giant elephant that lives in the coldest parts of the world, fighting off Tigrex and even Ukanlos to survive. And a monster that goes toe to toe with the white god deserves respect. 7. [Seething] Bazelgeuse - an excellent and fun fight, another flying Wyvern that doesn’t spend its entire fight up in the sky is always great, and what it does is unique. Nothing was more terrifying then getting bombed out of nowhere in High rank, even if it got tiring seeing it on damn near every hunt, but that’s a problem World had with all of its invaders. Seething is also great, love the color scheme, but I wish it was also an invader like it’s regular version. Edit: And it’s theme, the sheer terror it brings in a hunt 6. [Shrieking] Legiana - a fun attempt at a flying Wyvern that still flies by not having it stay like a mile away from the ground the entire time, always staying well within reach of weapons, plus it’s got a lot of cool moves like the barrel roll and ice coating the arena. Shrieking is just more of that, I love the colour scheme, and the fights pretty cool as well. Bring earplugs like I do and half of peoples issues would vanish 5. [Ruiner] Nergigante - Nergigante is a monster I respect alot, being my first flagship monster I ever fought against. It’s super unique compared to other Elder dragons, what with it specializing in pure brute strength vs the elemental affinities other Elders have, my only issue is how easy it is to trivialize if your able to keep breaking all of its spikes. But that’s minor. Ruiner just does more of that, swapping out its weaker white spikes for metal ones so it can keep up the pressure. A great monster through and through. 4. [Glacial] Agnaktor - easily my most wanted monster for Wilds that we don’t know if it will return. It’s a giant sea serpent that swims through lava and makes said lava into its armor, it’s such a cool design, and an excellent monster. And with the new weapon swapping mechanic or wilds and stuff like the slinger you can have alot of ways to work around its mechanic in ways you never could before. 3. Namielle - my fav Elder dragon, a deep sea monster that’s only actually found in high elevations and not underwater? Sign me up for that, that’s awesome. And the fights super cool, making its own waves to knock the Hunter off their feet and later on use to zap with is just awesome. And do I need to mention the colors? It’s amazing, I hope it returns in Wilds’ expansion it would be awesome to see. Edit: 22:30 Genuinely really nice to see my comment make it onto this series. I still stand by that, it’s a great monster. 2. Frostfang Barioth - Barioth was already cool, making excellent use of part breaks and the terrain to its advantage to fight. Frostfang is just, more of that, stronger attacks, more combos just more Barioth. And the design, the Ivey blue and white gives off the energy of an old veteran, a monster that fought in turf wars for survival and alway won. My only criticism is how anti Guard it was, but I didn’t main shielding weapon during WorldBorne anyway. 1. Lagiacrus - Peak. It’s a giant gator mixed with sea serpent and can use electricity to fight. All with an awesome theme associated with it. What is there not to love? It’s got cool ecology it’s weakest point is it’s fight, either being third Gen janky or GU AoE spam, but when it returns in Wilds, don’t lie it will return, Balahara proves that it’s low lying skeleton was fixed, it’s gonna be damn amazing especially if they do the pseudo swimming to give it more the just AoE attacks.

This was truly wonderful, thank you. I listened to it while multitasking mostly so I seem to have somehow missed one of my favorite monsters in Nibblesnarf. It created this odd hype that I seriously thought it was going to be in this top 20 video until I got to about 6 or so.

What an incredible series, thank you so much for hosting this, I cannot imagine the amount of work that went into this. By any chance, have you thought about doing a video showing this ranking VS the entire official ranking, and/or discussing what surprised you the most between the two polls?

Before I get into my comment bookmarks, I NEED to talk about what Astalos means to me and how I was able to comment great things on 13 out of the 15 monsters that were shown across these videos. If Astalos’s design wasn’t so intriguing and the theme didn’t rock as hard it did, I wouldn’t have tried GU. Astalos was my gateway to the Old World, and it helped that GU was on sale for $20. My initial goal was to just unlock an Astalos fight, but I loved the gameplay so I kept going. I ended up finishing GU, even soloing Ahtal-Ka and G1 Bloodbath Diablos. So I knew that I could handle the Old World, and so I began a quest to fight every unique monster and subspecies in 3U and 4U. And I want everyone to know that when his plushie was on Amazon, it was labeled as “Green Khezu.” Now for comment bookmarks before my personal overview of my significant monsters in the reply. 25:38 God Abyssal was such a fun fight. 44:48 59:18 Thank you Ahtal-Ka for giving me the confidence to solo other Hub final bosses.

Great Jagras gave me my first taste for how battle works. Diablos, Odogaron, and especially Nergigante taught me how to get good. Zorah Magdaros, while a boring fight compared to others of his class, was my first spectacle. Vaal Hazak had an interesting fight focused on an element that is unlike anything I would have expected. Namielle was difficult and beautiful, one of my favorites of Iceborne. Zinogre captivated me on sight since I ADORE wolves. Magnamalo is one of the best dances of Rise. Mizutsune was similar to Zinogre, especially its theme. Astalos encouraged me to come and learn the Old World. Ahtal-Ka gave me the confidence that I could handle these “multiplayer larger monsters.” Bloodbath Diablos told me that I could handle the more infamous fights of Old World. Lunagaron gave me hope for more canine monsters while being such a cutie. Related, Astalos’ reveal made me cry. Espinas was my first triple cart of Sunbreak with an amazing dance. Giasmagorm caused me to faint irl. Goldbeard Ceadeus was my wall to G Rank, to prove that I was at least competent underwater. Dire Miralis was one of the most intense fights I’ve had. Abyssal Lagiacrus was my final underwater test, my send off for 3U. Tidal Najarala assured me that the 4U subspecies weren’t all bad. Dalamadur and Gogmazios had me prove that I was great with my new weapon of 4U. White Fatalis was the perfect swan song to my Old World journey.

What an absolute highlight reel of the franchise! There are no placements here i could debate out of a top 20 position, even if some of my favorites only ended up cracking top 50. This ranking series as a whole was, imo, way better than Capcom's take on it. We actually got to see a lot of love for the mid guys who don't tend to be favorites, but are always solid backbones of the franchise, as well as some underdogs claw their way up the ranks through sheer meme value and fan appreciation (which are both valid. Idgaf, Jaggi memes are peak and his ranking just has to take that community aspect into consideration). Very good stuff Connor, thank you for making this series of videos and polls. And it was very cool to hear from some of my other favorite MH content creators speaking on their favorite monsters, it's always a joy to hear people gush about MH monsters.

Voting in all the poles and watching as not only my own, but other peoples favorite monsters are put to the test was awesome. I have to say, I was NOT expecting Primordial Malzeno to be #1. So, we’ve made it to the top 20. I am incredibly excited to see which monster comes out on top but the simple fact is that not even the winner will be able to beat a Legiana. See for yourself. As a celebration of this project and because it just kind of seemed like a fun thing to do I present „HOW LEGIANA BEATS EVERY MONSTER IN MAINLINE MINSTER HUNTER“. (Also, just assume a Storm is raging in the entire universe at any point in this comment) Velocidrome: A simple kick. Gendrome: Kidnap one of it’s highly accomplished children while their preforming their best piece yet. Your ransom? A forfeit. With no choice but to give up the Gendrome will forfeit the match resulting in victory. Iodrome: Pick it up, attach dynamite to it, fly up high and drop it over a Lagiacrus and spiky objects. Yian Kut Ku: Doge a fireball then retaliate with freezing wind. Once sufficiently weakened, divebom it. If it tries to take to the sky it has already lost. Blue Yian Kut Ku: Doge a fireball then retaliate with freezing wind. Once sufficiently weakened, divebom it. If it tries to take to the sky it has already lost. Yian Garuga: It’ll try to scream so simply screams louder. Startled, the bird won’t be ready for a freezing tailslam to the head. Gypceros: The flash and poison need buildup. Don’t give it that buildup. A fast aerial divebomb and and it never even stood a chance. Purple Gypceros: The flash and poison need buildup. Legiana doesn’t give it that buildup. A fast aerial divebomb and and it never even stood a chance. Rathian: Pull a Seregios. Chase her down and don’t let her escape. If she try’s to backflip simply grab the tail and slam her to the ground. Pink Rathian: Same as Rathian but with more caution. If she tries to fireball, counter with ice and attack while she’s confused. Gold Rathian: Play defensively until she enters her Hellfire state. Anticipate a fire nuke, doge zed fire nuke and retaliate while she’s recovering. Repeat until victorious or she’s knocked out of that state. In case of the latter repeat the first plan of action. Rathalos: Rathalos is a proud creature. He won’t refuse an areal fight. Beat him using superior areal mobility. Azure Rathalos: Insult him with phrases such as „nobody likes you“ and „you’ll never live up to your big brother“. Once his self worth is destroyed destroy the rest with a well placed blast of ice. Silver Rathals: Same plan as Gold Rathian but with a more areal approach. Khezu: Stomp it to death while paying attention to the Thunder telegraphs. Red Khezu: Same as Khezu but stomp harder. Basarios: Get a supply of food and sit on the Basarios while it’s trying to camouflage. You’ll have enough food but the Basarios will be to scared to move and eventually starve. Gravios: Wait until it opens it‘s mouth to use a fire attack and blast it full of ice. With it’s furnace weakened you can start chipping away at it’s armor resulting in a eventual victory. Black Gravios: The former ice blast won’t be enough so use two more right after. Then proceed as normal and start breaking through it’s armor. Monoblos: This flightless wyvern is no match for an aerial ice assault. Battle it while the Kokoto villagers are watching and win. This result in victory and fame. White Monoblos: The color white does not absorb heat. Start blasting this wyvern with ice and with it’s hide staying cool nothing is stopping the resulting avalanche from carrying it to it’s grave. Diablos: Freeze it’s Cactus before it gets there. The frozen food will result in a tummy ache. In pain the Diablos will start roaring, resulting in a rockslide that burry‘s the creature under itself. Black Diablos: A black coloring absorbs heat. Start blasting her with ice which will soon melt on her hot hide. The resulting flood will carry your opponent to her grave. Cephadrome: Stomp around in the sand until you grab it. Then slice it to death. Plesioth: Quickly dive into the water, get a hit in and dive out. Rinse and repeat. Green Plesioth: Quickly dive into the water, get a hit in and dive out while occasionally praising it’s color scheme. Rinse and repeat. Kirin: Grab it, fly up high and drop it. If it hits you with lightning while your in the air it won’t be enough to kill you but the fall will. It doesn’t matter though since Kirin is below you and will hit the ground first. Victory is assured. Lao Shan Lung: Land on it’s back and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there. Ashen Lao Shan Lung: Land on it’s back and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there. Fatalis: Focus only on dogging until it’s annoyed enough to use it‘s Supermove. This fire will burn anything on the ground to a crisp. But that’s the thing. Anything on the ground. Fly above the flames and crash into Fatalis, causing it to fall directly on to a Dragonator. Crimson Fatalis: This variant is already really angry. Taunt it with insults such as „ wow, you really got beat that bad“ and „ I don’t think could ever destroy a kingdom if you can’t even destroy one hunter“ until it explodes or something. King Shakalaka: A simple kick. Vespoid Queen: Simply freeze it’s wings and then divebomb the defenseless monster. Giadrome: This is a white Velocidrome. Nothing more, nothing less. A simple kick it is. Hypnocatriece: Doge the sleep gas then retaliate with freezing wind. Once sufficiently weakened, divebom it. If it tries to take to the sky it has already lost. Tigrex: Tigrex is a powerful monster but it can’t fly very well. Due to it’s high cold resistance the best bet is to simply drop rocks on it. Nargacuga: Narga is a fast monster but it can’t fly very well. Spam Ice from above or outskill it in the air. Be carful of any launched tail feathers. Akantor: Stay hidden and land on a mountain next to the Ingle Isle arena. Simply push a rock and create a rockslide, crushing your opponent in the process. Ukanlos: Agitate Ukanlos and then lead it into unstable terrain. The ice will collapse beneath it and the Wyvern will drown. Lavasioth: Wait until it’s armor is rock hard and land a direct ice attack. The cold will cause the rock to burst, hurting and confuseing the Lavasioth. Finish it with a tailslam. Daimio Hermitaur: Wait until it burrows underground then freeze zed ground. It won’t be able to move in this now hard terrain thus eventually suffocate. Plum Daimio Hermitaur: Wait till it burrows underground then freeze zed ground. It won’t be able to move in this now hard terrain thus eventually suffocate. Shogun Ceanataur: Assault it from the air using ice. If it try’s to jump simply grab it, fly up high and drop it. Terra Shogun Ceanataur: Assault it from the air using ice. If it try’s to jump simply grab it, fly up high and drop it. Shen Goren: While it’s approaching kick down a few trees, sharpen them with your claws and use Rakna silk to form a tripwire. Then Agitate the crab and and lead it to your trap. You can fly over it but Shen will trip over the silk and fall onto the sharpened tree stumps. Victory! Bulldrome: Stand in front of a cliff and jump when it charges at you. Congalala: Every time it wants to eat a mushroom freeze it. Being a jungle animal it won’t eat cold food and without it’s mushrooms it stands no chance. Emerald Congalala: Every time it wants to eat a mushroom freeze it. Being a jungle animal it won’t eat cold food and without it’s mushrooms it stands no chance. Blangonga: Pick it up and throw it into a herd of stampeding PoPo. Copper Blangonga: Pick it up and throw it into a herd of stampedeing Apceros. Rajang: As proven by the ice tail slam Legiana can expel frost from it’s tail. When the Rajang grabs you expel as much cold as you can muster and freeze the monkey solid. Furious Rajang: It’s an exceptionally powerful creature who‘s anger reaches critical levels you say? Well, if this isn’t a good case for the good old insults. Insult it’s lack of tail referring to how it can’t possibly balance without it. Then while it’s throwing a tantrum use your own tail to knock the life out of this monkey. Kushala Daora: Let out a piercing shriek and call an entire flock of Legiana to your aid. Multiple Ravens can take an Eagle so the flock can do the same with an Elder Dragon. Rusted Kushala Daora: Freeze it‘s rusted shell so it becomes to hard for it to molt. A grounded Kushala will eventually fall to Ice spam. Chameleos: When it sprays mist around the area freeze it. The mist will turn into snow, weakening a jungle dweller like Chameleos. While it’s confused, divebomb it. Lunastra: Lunastra‘s nova has a lot of Wind pressure but it matters not. Ride the wind to safety and attack viscously once she’s on the ground. Teostra: Tell it that Lunastra is breaking up with him because he forgot to clean the nest again. Without the will to live victory is assured. Yama Tsukami: Spred ice around the arena so the Thunderbugs catch a cold. Then land on top of it and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there. Old Fatalis: Old Fatalis is very old. Wait till it gets a heart attack and claim victory. Great Jaggi: Form an alliance with the W.C.H.A and work together to take this enemy of the Christmas Spirit down. Great Baggi: Pull a Velkhana and freeze it solid. Great Wroggi: Challenge it to a standoff at high noon. With your superior reflexes victory is assured. Character Limit: The Character Limit is a very rare and dangerous monster that seems to hate me specifically. Legends say it can cut any comment clean in half with just one swipe of it’s claws. The only way to beat it is to go down into the replies of this comment and keep reading. So… ah… do that.

Qurupeco: Scream at it for intimidation until it calls a Deviljho. Then fly away and watch from afar how the bird gets ripped to shreds. Crimson Qurupeco: Scream at it for intimidation until it calls a Deviljho and a Stygian Zinogre. Then fly away and watch from afar how the bird gets ripped to shreds. Arzuros: Find some honey and freeze it. Then simply drop it onto the Arzuros. Despite it being to cold the bear will eat it and get a tummy ache in the process. The weakened monster isn’t prepared for a blast of freezing wind. Lagombi: Use your ice to make the ground under the Lagombi so slippery it uncontrollably slides off a cliff. Volvidon: As a desert inhabitant it isn’t used to the cold… is what I would say if it didn’t live on the Citadel. It’ll be stinky business but stomping it to death will have to do. Royal Ludroth: Freeze the Water in his main resulting in a cold and eventually a death. Purple Royal Ludroth: Freeze the poison in it‘s main and viciously assault the poisonless monster. Gobul: Lure it onto land with insults such as „No wonder the other Leviathan’s don’t want to play with you“ and „your so much less graceful than the others“. Once it’s out of the water it’s crappie land move set can’t compete with ice and claws. Nibelsnarf: Acquire a barrel bomb and Rakna silk. Enraged the Nibelsnarf. Take to the sky. When it jumps drop the barrel bomb. Use the Rakna silk as a fishing rod and pull the weakened Nibelsnarf out of the sand. Land a direct ice hit. Agnaktor: Dodge any fire beams and wait till it’s armor is rock hard and land a direct ice attack. The cold will cause the rock to burst, hurting and confuseing the Agnaktor. Finish it with a tailslam. Glacial Agnaktor: Doge any ice beams and hit the monster with freezing wind. The cold from the attack and the cold of it’s snow armor will combine to reach absolute zero. Not even a former Fire now Ice monster can withstand this level of cold. Lagiacrus: Linfa and MasterofHammers ,you might want to look away for this one. Have you done that? Good. Simply keep dropping rocks into the ocean. One will eventually hit. I’m sorry. Ivory Lagiacrus: This grounded, land leviathan can’t compete with good old ice spam. Abyssal Lagiacrus: Keep dropping rocks into the ocean. They might need to travel further but still, one will eventually hit. Zinogre: CouldvebeenKing, your not gonna like this one. Simply spread ice around the area so all the Thunder Bugs catch a cold. Without it’s electricity you can beat Zinogre in one on one combat. Stygian Zinogre: Spread ice around the area so all the Dracophage Bugs catch a cold. Without it’s dragon element you can beat Stygian in one on one combat. Barroth: Arial Ice spam. Nice and simple. Jade Barroth: Spred ice to make the ground slippery. Once Jade try’s to U turn it’ll fall over leading to a easy victory. Duramboros: Duramboros has grass growing on it’s and as we all know ice beats grass. Case closed. Rust Duramboros: There’s not a lot such a big creature can do once you land on top of it and start slashing. If it starts rolling fly away and come back later. Uragaan: Uragaan is slow compared to Legiana. Destroy the ores it wants to eat before it gets there and starve this warcrime of a monster. Steel Uragaan: One insult. That’s all it takes. Steel is on it’s last legs already. It doesn’t even really matter what you say. Just insult it and it’ll probably either combust or suffocate in the ground. Brachydios: Inform Josh of it’s location. The two will walk of into the sunset and Brachy will thus forfeit the match. Deviljho: Lure an Akantor to it’s location. The two will fight but we all know who comes out on top. If necessary repeat the instructions for defeating Akantor afterwards. Savage Deviljho: Doge a dragon beam and fly away. You will easily outlive the Savage Jho due to it’s lackluster condition and lack of health insurance. Gigginox: Gift it a fully narrated TV. Gigginox will soon become addicted to horror movies and won’t anticipate a freezing tailslam. Baleful Gigginox: Gift it a fully narrated TV. Baleful will soon become addicted to horror movies and won’t anticipate a freezing tailslam. Barioth: Battle it under a star filled sky at the highest peak of the Horfrost Reach with Proof of a Hero blasting and win through sheer determination and thinking of your friends. Oh, or you could double team it into oblivion. Sand Barioth: Trip it when it’s trying to do its dust devil move thus breaking it’s neck. Green Nargacuga: The Jungle monster looses to ice. A tale as old as time. Lucent Nargacuga: Lucent can’t go fully invisible if it’s covered in frost. Doge the poison tailspikes and finish with a divebomb. Brute Tigrex: Brute is used to screaming louder than all it’s adversaries. But it underestimates a Legiana’s shrieking potential. Overpower it in a clash of soundwaves. Ceadeus: Make a rock above a sea cliff unstable. When this Elder Dragon bashes against the cliff to break off it’s horns the rock will fall and result in victory. Goldbeard Ceadeus: Throw a rock into the ocean. The Goldbeard will dodge the rock. Fly away and outlive the Goldbeard since it’s presumably very old already. Jhen Mohran: Land on top of it and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there. Hallowed Jhen Mohran: Land on top of it and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there and become rich in the process. Amatsu: Get a job at Tea Common Shark studios, climb up the ranks and join the let’s F**king go team. Then star in the critically acclaimed Ultimate TU Recap animation. The rest is history. Dire Miralis: Drop rocks with a low melting point into it’s meteor vents. The magma that forms will clog them up. It’ll probably combust from the pressure. Alatreon: Lead a Safi‘jiiva to the Alatreon. The two will fight, killing each other in the process. Great Maccao: It can kick but a Legiana can kick harder. A well placed strike should be enough. Malfestio: Dodge it‘s hypnosis beam until it takes to the sky. Then overwhelm it with superior areal ability. Nightcloak Malfestio: Nightcloak can’t go fully invisible if it’s covered in frost. Dodge a Hypnosis beam and finish it with a tailslam. Deadeye Yian Garuga: Deadeye‘s scream packs more punch than the regular version but it is still no match for a Legiana. Outscream it and finish the job with a tailslam. Ketcha Watcha: This sunshine of a creature doesn’t deserve to be murdered. Show it mercy and let it live out a long and fulfilling life. Ash Ketcha Watcha: +6 252+ SpA Choice Specs Tera Ice Legiana Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Ash Ketcha Watcha on a critical hit: 2034 to 2394 (1329.4 - 1564.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO Redhelm Arzuros: Use the same plan of action as regular Arzuros but with Salmon instead. Snowbaron Lagombi: when it prepares it‘s huge snowball hit zed snowball with a frost attack. It’ll freeze over and become to slippery for the Snowbaron to hold. It’ll loose grip of it and be burred under it’s own weapon. Gammoth: Keep chipping away at her hind legs. There really isn’t anything she can do. If she leaves the room follow her to the next. Elderfrost: The hind legs are protected this time so keep chipping away at the back. Make sure to avoid any trunk attacks. Seltas: Freeze it his wings and pick him apart. Should be simple enough. Seltas Queen: Freeze her pheromones and turn them into snow. Without the mind control the Seltas will start a rebellion and dispatch of the Queen. Desert Seltas: Tell him of his impending doom as a projectile and that life has no meaning. There are two outcomes. Your average desert Seltas will give up and result in an easy victory. The psychopaths however will intentionally search for a Desert Seltas Queen and die. Also a victory. Desert Seltas Queen: When she fires a Seltas at you grab him in the air and fire him back with double the force. Rinse and repeat until victorious. Ahtal Ka: The mech shouldn’t be a problem due to Legiana‘s ability to fly. Once it’s destroyed wait till she ready‘s her Dragonator attack. Quickly snap the silk which in turn buries the Mantis under them. Najarala: Najarala is a snake. Snakes don’t like the cold. Legiana wins. Tidal Najarala: This Snake does like the Cold so it’ll come down to a good old sound wave battle. Tidal roars and scale explosions put up a good fight but the shriek can’t be beaten. It’s to loud, iconic and wonderful sounding at the same time. Stonefist Daimyo Hermitaur: Wait till it burrows underground then freeze zed ground. It won’t be able to move in this now hard terrain thus eventually suffocate. Rustrazor Shogun Ceanataur: Cold temperatures slow down rusting. With a vital part of it’s name missing not so Rust-razor can’t continue the fight. Legiana wins by forfeit. Nerscylla: Shred her Gypceros skin in a suprise attack and fly away. Then wait for a thunderstorm. Lightning will strike the Nerscyilla and without her protection victory is assured. Shrouded Nerscilla: Plain and simply tell her that her way of transport is physically impossible. While it she’s contemplating life finish her off with a icy tailslam. Mizutsune: Mizutsune will cover the floor in in bubble foam and start sliding around. Simply freeze zed bubble foam resulting in him being stuck to the ground. With it’s mobility compromised a few vicious attacks should finish it off. Sorry eeeeeeeeee0. Vengeful Character Limit: It’s the Character limit, but it’s back with a vengeance. You know what to do. Exploit it‘s only weakness by going to the next comment and keep reading! Together we can beat this dangerous creature.

Soulseer Mizutsune: Since Legiana ride the wind and don’t often flap their wings he can’t hear you coming. Since ice can freeze the bubbles he can’t sense you. Since he too slides around on bubble foam a simple ice attack will freeze him to the ground, leaving him near defenseless against a follow up. Glavenus: Glavenus can hold it‘s own against flying wyverns in turf wars because the latter fight it low to the ground. Don’t fight it low to the ground. Dodge any projectiles and Ice spam it to death. Hellblade Glavenus: Glavenus can hold it‘s own against flying wyverns in turf wars because the latter fight it low to the ground. Don’t fight it low to the ground. Dodge any projectiles and Ice spam it to death. A daily reminder that a badass name won’t save you. Crystalbeard Uragaan: Uragaan is slow compared to Legiana. Destroy the ores it wants to eat before it gets there and starve this warcrime of a monster. Raging Brachydios: Not only is Raging weak to ice but it can’t leave it‘s designated area. Bombard it with ice from just outside of the zone it’s current health allows it to exist in. Tetsucabra: Tetsucabra is an Amphibian wich means it needs water to lay it‘s eggs. Freeze any water it wants to use and thus prevent it’s lineage from continuing. Sad and alone the Tetsucabra will give up. Berserk Tetsucabra: You know the drill. If it’s weak to ice it’s a goner. Drilltusk Tetsucabra: Stay just out of reach long enough for it to become angry. Then fly directly above it and when it throws a huge rock at you wait till the last moment to dodge. The rock will fly high into the air and come crashing down on the Drilltusk. Victory is assured. Zamtrios: When it inflates pull a Paulumu. Grab it and fling it off a cliff. Tigerstripe Zamtrios: It’s weak to ice you say? It spends more time in it’s inflated form you say? Well, it stands no chance I say. Ruby Basarios: Spam ice and avoid any fire attacks. Astalos: Astalos is weak to ice, Legiana is weak to thunder. Both Wyverns have powerful attacks. Whoever gets the first hit wins and since Legiana is faster and more agile in the air victory is assured. Boltreaver Astalos: Boltreaver is weak to ice, Legiana is weak to thunder. Both Wyverns have powerful attacks. Whoever gets the first hit wins and since Legiana is faster and more agile in the air victory is assured. Seregios: Seregios is the second most aerially agile Wyvern out there. The thing is, Legiana claims that top spot. A aerial fight will be close but the Wind Drifter Wyvern emerges victorious. I’m sorry Lander64 but one can’t deny the facts. Molten Tigrex: Can it fly well? No. Is it weak to ice? Yes. In that case I don’t care how angry it gets. It’s a goner. Grimclaw Tigrex: Grimclaw is a powerful monster but it can’t fly very well. Due to it’s high cold resistance the best bet is to simply drop rocks on it. Silverwind Nargacuga: Silverwind is a fast monster but it can’t fly very well. Spam Ice from above or outskill it in the air. Be carful of any razor sharp wind. Dreadqueen Rathian: Dreadqueen is poison incarnate. But Legiana is ice incarnate. Doge her moves low to the ground until she creates poison spikes. Freeze those poison spikes. Then take to the sky. When Dreadqueen follows launch a suprise attack from above and leave your opponent hurdling into the frozen spikes. Dreadking Rathalos: Dreadking normally leaves people alone. Invite him to a cup of tea and then backstab him while he isn’t looking. Bloodbath Diablos: I’m really sorry but if it can fly it can’t hurt a Legiana. That’s just the way things are. Ice spam should do the trick. Thunderlord Zinogre: It’s time for a nother round of insults. This time use phrases such as „I mean I guess your cool but where did your theme go?“ and „They didn’t even bother giving you a remix? Maybe you aren’t that beloved after all.“. While it’s busy being sad hit it on the head ending it’s supercharged state and leaving it confused. Then muster a powerful gale of wind and freeze it to death. Gore Magala: Purposefully get hit by a frenzy attack, overcome the virus and become an apex monster. With your new found power beat gore into the ground. Chaotic Gore Magala: I think you know what has to be done. Insult it with phrases referring to its failed quest of becoming a Shagaru. It will either give up or become so angry it combusts. Either results in a win. Oroshi Kirin: Grab it, fly up high and drop it. Ice can’t hurt a Legiana nearly as much as thunder so since you can beat a regular Kirin victory is assured here too. Shagaru Magala: Purposefully get hit by a frenzy attack, overcome the virus and become a apex monster. With your new found power beat it into the ground. I’m sorry Shagaru, I still love you. Dah‘ren Moran: Land on it’s back and start digging. It’ll take a while but you’ll get there. Dalamadur: If a tiny hunter can beat this thing so can a Legiana. Fly all around the Dalamadur, avoid Fire beams and attack weak points. It’ll take approximately 44039.7 minutes but you’ll get there. Shah Dalamadur: If a tiny hunter can beat this thing so can a Legiana. Fly all around the Shah Dalamadur, avoid Fire beams and attack heated up weak points. It’ll take approximately 22019.85 minutes but you’ll get there. Valstrax: Valstrax are peaceful creatures. Take it by surprise and slash at it’s ventilation system. Then hide in a cave. The dragon energy will spill out, turning it into a crimson glow and eventually killing it. Nakarkos: The ceiling of Wyverns End isn’t stable as seen in it’s death animations. Loosen it and with a final tailslam it’ll come crashing down on your opponent. Victory! Gogmazios: Grab a flint and steel and ignite the poor creature. Judging by the the amount of tar it’s covered with there will be nothing left by the time the fire goes out. Great Jagras: Keep dropping Aptonoth into his mouth until it explodes. Great Girros: Freeze it’s frills so it can’t call any allies. Then overwhelm it with ice attacks. Dodogama: Throw tasty rocks into it’s mouth until it explodes. Literally this time. Tobi Kadachi: Engage in a fight across the ancient forest. Tobi will be jumping from branch to branch while you follow. Corner it to the edge of the great tree and give it no escape. Tobi will jump off it and attempt to glide but a Legiana has far greater areal mobility. A fight in the air won’t last long. Viper Tobi Kadachi: Viper Tobi Kadachi is immune to your ice due to wearing a Christmas hat but it doesn’t matter. Remind it that you are both trusted members of the W.C.H.A. Then tell it about your endeavor to beat every mainline monster and prove a point. Viper will gladly help you and forfeit the match. Odogaron: Battle this intruder at the highest point of the Coral Highlands, under a starry sky with Proof of a Hero blasting and win through sheer determination and thinking of your friends. Or you could lead a Deviljho to it‘s location. That’s a possibility too. Ebony Odogaron: Simply Freeze it’s food resulting in a tummy ache upon consumption. Then grab the weakened creature and throw it off the edge of the Coral Highlands. Lunagaron: Use the good old „ice on ice tactic“. Blast it’s Ice armor with freezing wind resulting in the combined cold being to much for the creature. Magnamalo: Steal some Wirebugs then purposefully get afflicted with Hellfireblight. Wiredash to avoid the next attack which leads the Magnamalo to crash into the Hellfire on the ground. The resulting knockdown is just the opening you need to viciously attack resulting in a victory. Scorned Magnamalo: Steal some Wirebugs then purposefully get afflicted with Hellfireblight. Wiredash to avoid the next attack which leads the Magnamalo to crash into the Hellfire on the ground. The resulting knockdown is just the opening you need to viciously attack resulting in a victory. Apex Zinogre: Lead an Amatsu to it’s location. The two will battle giving you just enough time to get a job at Tea Common Shark studios and dispatch of the victorious Amatsu. The rest is history. Great Izuchi: Grab it and drop it from a high place. Kulu-Ya-Ku: When it throws a rock at you grab zed rock and throw it back with double the force. Even two rocks thrown in this manner should be enough. Tzitzi-Ya-Ku: Call the police and make sure it gets arrested for it’s crimes. Pukei Pukei: Avoid any poison attacks and when it lashes out with it’s tongue grab the tongue and use it to throw your opponent onto a Rajang. Coral Pukei Pukei: It would feel wrong hurting a member of the Coral Squad so simply talk things out and invite it to tea. No backstabbing this time. You welcome Andrew. Aknosom: It’s fire attacks are nothing compared to your elemental output. Counter it‘s fire with ice and end the fight with a tailslam. Scarred Yian Garuga: This is volume 3 of „Screaming louder than a Yian Garuga“. The stage is set, the crowd is cheering. And the winner is…Legiana! Who could have predicted this. Tetranadon: Steal it’s Fedora angering it to the point it’ll expand. Then kick it, causing it to roll off a cliff. Somnacanth: When it expels sleep powder freeze it resulting in it falling down to earth like snow. Then while Somnacanth‘s vision is obscured divebomb it and take it out with vicious claw swipes. Apex Vengeful Character Limit: Watch out! The Character limit is back and it looks like it had a fight with Gore. We must get to safer ground immediately. I know just the place! It’s right below this comment. Go there and keep reading. You should be safe for some time while I think of a plan.

Aurora Somnacanth: With both creatures being highly resistant to ice this will come down to a physical confrontation. But wait. You have the power of insults on your side. Aurora is one of the least popular monsters and a few phases referring to that should give you the advantage you need to claim victory. Almudron: apparently Almudron is closely related to Mizutsune. You know what that means. It uses liquids. While it’s submerged in mud freeze zed mud. The trapped monster is no match for a barrage of tailslams. Magma Almudron: Wait till it’s hide is weak due to it heating up. Then blast it with ice doing damage and cooling it down to rock temperature. A nother ice blast will cause the hide to crack leaving the confused creature open to a finishing tailslam. Violet Mizutsune: This creatures bubble foam is to hot to freeze. So a different plan is needed. Avoid moves and enrage it until it uses it’s spirit bomb. Then use it’s own tactics against it. Slam your tail against the spirit bomb leading to it crashing into your opponent. The resulting knockdown is just the opening you need. Apex Mizutsune: Steal some Wirebugs then purposefully get afflicted with Hellfireblight. Wiredash to avoid the next attack which leads the Apex to crash into the Hellfire on the ground. The resulting knockdown is just the opening you need to viciously attack resulting in a victory. Your welcome eeeeeeeeee0. Jyuratodus: Ready for a nother round of mud freezing? The target might be a lot more derpy this time but it’s no less susceptible. Beotodus: As you can clearly see in one of NCH productions Iceborne videos a loud Legiana shriek can cause a Beotodus to be left defenseless. That’s exactly what needs to be done. A Beotodus out of the snow is no match for teeth and claws. Bishaten: Avoid any poison fruit and pick it up. Then drop it down above a Almudron. Blood Orange Bishaten: Avoid any flaming pinecones and pick it up. Then drop it into the ocean. Garangolm: Garangolm is the lord of the forest not the snowy mountains. It won’t be ready for a icy blast that will result in it catching a cold. Then land on top of the weakened monster and slash until the fight is won. Goss Harag: Anger it until it uses it’s ice blades. Doge so it hits the ground then freeze the ground. It’ll be stuck to zed ground and unable to defend against a barrage of claw slashes. Apex Arzuros: Divebomb it and catch it off guard. Out of poin and anger it’ll use it’s apex roar sending every monster in the area into a frenzy. It will then proceed to get trampled by the the coming Ramage. Rakna Kadachi: Disable Arachnophobia in the settings. Rakna will turn into a unimpressive green blob that can easily be frozen. Pyre Rakna Kadachi: Wait till she spreads ignitable silk all around the place. Quickly spread ice around the area weakening Pyre. She’ll ignite the silk resulting in a explosion. Avoid zed explosion using your flying skills and watch from above as the heat melts the ice and creates a flood that carries your opponent to her grave. Banbaro: Tell it about this super cool, new tourist destination called Worlds End. It’ll pack it‘s bags and travel there immediately resulting in it getting Devoured by Disufiroa. In the off chance the two simply drink tea together you win by forfeit. Radobaan: Steal it’s hammer and put it to sleep with it. Then quickly go to camp and change to a hammer that does more damage. Do a divebomb wake-up attack with the second hammer and rest assured that „this is a commonly used strategy“. Anjanath: Lure the big new threat of the dlc to it’s location. It won’t be able to resist showing the player what a big threat it is and quickly take care of the Anjanath. Fulgur Anjanath: It can’t fly. It’s weak to Ice. Need I say more? Acidic Glavenus: Acidic can hold it‘s own against flying wyverns in turf wars because the latter fight it low to the ground. Don’t fight it low to the ground. Ice spam it to death. Paulumu: insert Legiana vs Paulumu turf war. Nightshade Paulumu: insert Legiana vs Paulumu turf war but be carful of sleep gas this time. Legiana: Who’s gonna win? Legiana or Legiana? It might be a hot take but my money is on Legiana. Shrieking Legiana: Shrieking would never hurt the Legiana it’s trying to protect. A win by forfeit. Espinas: While it’s sleeping burry it alive. Flaming Espinas: While it’s sleeping burry it alive but a lot deeper this time. Frostfang Barioth: It’s the ice on ice tactic but aimed at it’s fangs this time. Being frosty already getting hit with ice results in to much cold for your opponent to handle. Bazelgeuse: Bazelgeuse is one of the strongest creatures in the sky and it drops bombs onto the ground below. Why would it ever look up? I don’t know. Maybe because a Legiana is crashing into it from above at full speed! Yeah, that would be a pretty good reason. To bad it’s already to late. Seething Bazelgeuse: Seething is even more powerful than it’s regular version and it drops even more powerful bombs onto the ground below. Why would it ever look up? I don’t know. Maybe because a Legiana is crashing into it from above at full speed! Yeah, that would be a pretty good reason. To bad it’s too late for Seething too. Apex Rathian: This one can fly above the Rampage it creates but that won’t save it from being thrown into the spikes it creates. Apex Rathalos: The aerial challange has reached it‘s apex. Apex Rathalos is fast, strong and has immense firepower. But a Legiana is faster. Dodge it‘s nova and retaliate with a tailslam. Keep chipping away at it and once there’s an opening blast it with the coldest wind out there. Apex Diablos: This is just knockoff Bloodbath. All would be well if it could fly but it can’t even do that. Ice spam it is. Risen Chameleos: When it sprays mist around the area freeze it. The mist will turn into snow, weakening a jungle dweller like Chameleos. While it’s confused, divebomb it resulting in enough damage it enters it’s Risen state. Then fly away, making it think it’s won. Grab a rock and drop it from high above the Chameleos, knocking it out of it’s Risen state. Then while it’s on the ground enter a dive from your high elevation, crash into it and claim victory. Risen Kushala Daora: Let out a piercing shriek and call an entire flock of Legiana to your aid. Multiple Ravens can take an Eagle so the flock can do the same with an Elder Dragon. After enough damage is dealt it’ll go Risen, dispersing the flock. But after a short pep talk the flock will enter an attack formation and divebomb the Kushala in unison. There is nothing it can do. Risen Teostra: This thing is a master over fire. But it’s relatively slow… and it’s weak to ice. Dodge fire blasts and stay just out of range of it’s physical moves all the while your ice spamming it to death. Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax: This monster had to expend a lot of energy to overcome the affliction and with a malfunctioning dragon sack it clearly doesn’t have long to live. Hide in a cave and eat Hermitaur until it dies. Risen Shagaru Magala: Make it overconfident by praising it for overcoming the Qurio single-handedly. Then, when it starts monologuing about it‘s great battle with the swarm it‘ll climb a rock in the arena in order to look more impressive. It’s monologue will last for approximately 2030.58 seconds which gives you just enough time to loosen the rock with ice and kick it. Shagaru will come crashing down and break it‘s neck. Victory! Vaal Hazak: Vaal can’t fly unless mounted. But it can shoot deadly bacteria lasers. It has one weakness though. Grab soup from the defeated Mizutsune put it in a bucket and drop it on your opponent. This will clean away it‘s flesh armor giving the Effluvium no incentive to help it anymore. Which neither speed nor flight on Vaal’s side victory is assured. Blackveil Vaal Hazak: Blackveil is an intruder. It doesn’t belong and kills everything in it‘s path. No more! Form a Rebellion with the creatures of the Ancient Forest and defeat it decisively in the battle for the Ancient Tree. As the MOON shines BRIGHT above the new world rest assured it is safe one more. Namielle: As a member of the Coral Squad this creature must be respected and protected. There’s still some room at the tea party so one more invite doesn’t hurt. The OTHER, other person with a coral highlands monster in there profile picture can rest easy. If your wondering how this counts as a win think of the hunger games or something. Crimson Glow Valstrax: So far the different forms of Valstrax have been defeated by hiding in a cave and hurting it then hiding in a cave. Do you think this times gonna be different? Do you think I’m gonna think of a totally new and different idea? Think again! Off to the cave it is. Nergigante: Is it weak to ice. No. Can it fly. Yes. Looks like my favorite party trick won’t work. But wait. Yes, that’s just it! When the Eater of Elders comes rushing towards you get intentionally bitten. As we have established by the previous 214 battles Legiana is the most powerful creature to ever grace this world. The bioenergy contained in just one bite will completely overwhelm the Nergigante, frying it from the inside. And after a few well placed bandages all it well and victory is once again assured. Special Investigation Apex Vengeful Character Limit: So it has come to this. The Character limit at it’s most powerful against the will to write a cohesive text. But we have already damaged it a lot. One more attack should defeat it once and for all. On three we will both jump to the next comment and keep reading. This should be enough to ensure victory against it. Ok? Ok. One… two… three… jump!

It worked! And there are only a few monsters left. Let’s bring this home! Ruiner Nergigante: Metal becomes more brittle under cold temperatures. Hit Ruiner with a Iceblast. Dodge an attack and divebomb it to snap the metal spikes. With it’s ranged options out of commission it will enter a frenzy and bite you. One brilliant blast of Bioenergy and it never knew what hit it. Velkhana: Dogde ice beams and stay out of tail range until it enrages. While it’s roaring hit it with a iceblast. The cold from the blast and the cold from it‘s ice armor will combine to reach absolute zero. But it‘s not enough. This is the Iceborne Wyvern. It doesn’t fear the cold. It is the cold! The iceblast might have weakened it but it’s still standing. Angrier than ever. In a blind rage Velkhana will take to the sky. It’s final mistake. Overwhelm it in the air using your superior flying capability’s and cut it off if it tries to land. It’ll be a long and hard fight but victory is assured. Malzeno: Swift Gales accompany this dragon wherever it goes. Ride these winds and outmaneuver it‘s relatively small arsenal of Qurio. Then crash into it with full force. It’ll crash down to earth landing in a pit full of tree sap. Trapped and with the Quiro still out of coordination a final divebomb should finish things. Primordial Malzeno: Spread your ice around the Citadel resulting in the Qurio catching a cold and going home. Without them to agitate it Primordial will do the same. A win by forfeit. Zorah Magdaros: Land on top of it and start digging. It’ll take you half a lifetime but you’ll get there. Give or take because Nergi might show up to help. Oh wait, Nergi is dead. Half a lifetime it is. Kulve Tarroth: Show it video‘s of people waisting their life away searching for that last Kjarr weapon. Blame it for ruining their bright futures and passionate careers. While it’s comprehending what it’s done collapse the ceiling and get out of there. Wind Serpent Ibushi: Quickly splatter fake blood on it. Then lead a Narwa to it’s location. Believing it’s mate is near dead it’ll kill Ibushi itself in order to save their offspring. Thunder Serpent Narwa: Incase Narwa doesn’t transform for some reason you need to know how to deal with the Base version. It’s quite simple actually. Dodge the slow moving Thunder attacks and the just as slow moving Elder Dragon while spamming ice until victory is assured. Narwa the Allmother: After Ibushi has been consumed follow the same plan of action as for it’s regular counterpart. Until it uses it’s supermove that is. While it’s reading it’s Dragonators blast them with ice. Being more brittle now they’ll collapse, burring the Allmother under them. Xeno‘Jiiva: Xeno is a Baby. And what is every mother afraid of? There baby catching a cold. This one doesn’t even have a mother to protect it so simply spread ice around the area and hide behind a crystal pillar. Soon your opponent will be sneezing on the ground and nothing is stopping that very same pillar from being dropped on top of it. Safi‘Jiiva: Lead an Alatreon to the Safi‘jiiva. The two will fight, killing each other in the process. Shara Ishvalda: Construct a can opener out of the Ruiner Nergigante remains and crack Shara‘s shell. The creature below is a.) lacking flight and b.) is weak to ice. It’s STARE form can’t withstand the power of ice spam. Gaismagorm: This is it. Everything has been leading up to this moment. I set out to prove a point and a point I will prove. Meet Gaismagorm at the Yawning Abyss and engage in combat. In it’s first phase your opponent is slow and badly equipped for an aerial opponent. Dodge explosions and spam ice. Once it’s had enough the Archdemon will use it’s suction move but you’ll be ready. Drop a rock into it‘s maw and viciously attack while it’s flailing around. You’ve almost got it! Just a little- wait what’s going on. The Qurio! No, they weren’t part of the plan. There swarming in! Use an Iceblast. No wait there’s to many. Outmaneuver them! Why can’t you loose them! They just keep coming! Hang in th- Everything is black. Wake up! You can do it. I believe in you. I- Your not coming back, are you. … I guess I was wrong. I guess Legiana can’t beat every monster aft- wait … Sorry, I thought I saw something. It’s just that- wait, there it is again! An orange glow! It’s coming closer! It’s it‘s it- Explode into a blast of brilliant orange! Master the affliction and become Risen. Use your newfound power to blast away the Qurio with freezing wind and transition your freefall into a divebomb aimed directly at Gaismagorm. Pick up more and more speed while countering each and every attack thrown at you until you crash into the Archdemon with so much force this bottomless pit is illuminated with orange light. VICTORY IS ASSURED. Point proven.

I can deny the ‘facts’ Legiana only gets its aerial movement thanks to updrafts in the C.Highlands and the Hoarfrost. All Seregios has to do is lure Legi into an area without those drafts, spam baldescales at a distance, and victory is attained

Damn, been one heck of a ride. As the premiere goes on, may as well finish my list. 22. Brachydios - such a fun idea and fight 21. Seregios - Steve was a menace and loved the weapons 20. Bishaten - my favorite Rise beast, and has such good personality and weapons 19. Alatreon - I actually love the fight Iceborne gave this, minus some faults with Escaton 18. Bazelgeuse - best invader in the series, left such an impact, both in our hearts and in the many craters from the scales 17. Seething Bazelgeuse - just a better Bazel, though dislike the lack of invading 16. Ruiner Nergigante - a really fun fight, great cutscene at the end of the story, and so many rewards 15. Flaming Espinas - quirky and lethal, making some stellar gear and being a fun challenge 14. Shara Ishvalda - this creature is just.... phenomenal, wish it got an AT version 13. Diablos - simple but solid, raw force alone crowns this apex 12. Blackveil Vaal Hazak - a stronger Vaal, with a neat idea for the ecology 11. Vaal Hazak - the corpse dragon has a great aesthetic, beautiful gear, great weapons and fits the map so perfectly, just wish the fight was a bit better 10. Coral Pukei Pukei - the best subspecies, the benchmark for that category going forward, and a really good fight 9. Namielle - the most beautiful Elder Dragon, with a grand design matched by a nice fight, probably the best designed beast in all of Iceborne 8. Kecha Wacha - a funny monkey which left a big impression, want it back 7. Gore Magala - the maker of frenzy, being such a worrying rival and a look that is slick as Hell 6. Rajang - this beast should inspire fear in all who see it, and should be a solid challenge in any generation 5. Furious Rajang - beautiful armor, and a nicely different fight in Iceborne, still carting me even when I went in prepared 4. Stygian Zinogre - not the best subspecies in terms of differences, but a solid one that just looks so damn cool! 3. Odogaron - fell in love with him in World, and is my favorite 5th gen beast, fight it whenever I can, and the armor is so good 2. Shagaru Magala - my favorite Elder Dragon, your rival turned into the final boss, the arc in 4U was the best story they have ever done, and respect this divine beast so much 1. Zinogre - my favorite beast in the franchise, and I love basically every single aspect of it, even if one wants to call me basic I will NEVER talk bad about my thunder pupper

@@Andrew-hz5zc Thank you kindly, yours was fairly solid too. I think it truly is the best subspecies they have ever done - a partbreak that drastically changes the fight, great armor, a fun battle, good colors... just a fantastic monster overall. Granted, if it was the only Pukei, it would likely only break my top 30, a lot of its placement is due to how good it is for subspecies as a whole. And aye, sad this is over, but glad we had a damn good run of it.

The first time I fought Primal Malzeno, I was stupid and completely ignored the Qurio weapon stuff and fought him with my Great Sword. It was extremely difficult and my lack of buffed Qurio stats made the fight nearly run out of time. It was somewhere around the last 10-30 seconds of the whole hunt and I did it. I had never felt so stressed in my life before but finally beating him was magical. Fatalis gave me a similar experience but that time I actually used the buffed stuff you were supposed to have at that point. I will NEVER forget my first hunt with Primal Malzeno, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I defeated him with so little time left.

Ah we finnaly got to the final ranking and to be honest I find every one of these monsters in the right place every monster has its ups and downs but every single person at least likes one and even hates one this series is such a great fandom that we could rank all the wilds monsters when wilds comes out thanks to everyone who is a fellow hunter for joining in and happy hunting (i still think Legiana is terrible )

Good list everyone! Primordial may have some bias but I truly believe he is the best thing Monster hunter has ever had. I hope we can get him back in the near future. It's been an honor!

Awesome, my number 2 monster got third. And Primordial Malzeno getting number 1 is honestly totally deserved. I do admit I didn't pay perfect attention though, because I forgot where Rathalos was ranked, so I sincerely thought he was going to get number 1. Kinda glad he didn't because I'm a bit of a Rathalos hater lol.

To all the people who helped get Namielle to the top 20 once more, I love y’all. Truly deserves her spot in the top. My all time favorite monster of the franchise. As for the rest of the top 20, I agree with the rankings especially since most of my top 5 favorite monsters made it to the top. Well done on this massive project. My Top 5: 1. Namielle 2. Primordeal Malzeno 3. Espinas 4. Bazelguese 5. Grimclaw Tigrex

It was a great project, it was fun, and interesting and I think it actually reflects the thougths of the community better. Not just because of Cephadrome. Btw was Josh buissy, im surprised Rage Gaming didnt spoke for Brachy, or Raging.

Having Chaotic in top 10 is honestly an insult to every other monster there. Roster Padding: The Monster. The 4th gen bias is crazy.

The worst part of this video is the pronunciation of Bazelgeuse (I pronounce it as Bah-zel-gee-uhs and I believe the Japanese name is pronounced similarly to that too) Also I'm pretty sure gen 4 has the highest rated overall roster of new monsters, like I basically never hear a negative opinion on gen 4 monsters, maybe a bit lukewarm with ones like Kecha Wacha and regular Seltas but Seregios, the fated four, Gore Magala, Dalamadur, Nakarkos, Great Maccao, Malfestio, Zamtrios, Seltas Queen, Nercylla, Valstrax and basically every other 4th gen monster gets loads of love

An awesome conclusion to a massive project that unfortunately falls off at the end for me. I think the Magala's are hugely overrated (as in they should drop down to the top 10 rather than top 3s, they are still amazing monsters), and I like base Malzeno much much more than Primordial... conceptually and aestheticly at least, never actually fought it. Still think it should return, but not as regularly as Base Malzeno. Make it a special treat you know?
