They had a front row seat to stalins purges and of course the entire Russian revolution before hand. They were allied with Japan who was conducting the “rape of Nanking” and implemented prison ships and unit 731. There of course is the Spanish civil war which saw countless atrocities (some by the Germans themselves lie the bombing of guernica). The only thing the Germans may have learned from the the US would be how to fight against guerillas (Philippine war). It’s honestly kinda crazy to say the Nazis learned their atrocious ways from the Americans

The Nazis took much of it to Switzerland where it stayed, or sadly into the valets of the Vatican. Many soviet generals took swaths of gold as well. The Allie’s did what they could but of course some gold fell off the truck, from the lowest privates to the highest generals.
