I've seen "Bernie" and read articles about the case, and while I can see why people may be charmed by this character's eccentricities, this is NOT a story about an innocent, gay man being railroaded. This dude shot a little old lady four times in the back after living it up on her dime. I grew up in the Baptist Church in the South and I know a lot of these predatory slime balls. Bernie took advantage of a widow's loneliness and isolation, period. Maybe her family wasn't very nice or attentive toward her, but they're still allowed to be angry about this situation. I'm sure they are also a little bit ashamed of their neglect; they should be. No one was checking on this woman like they should've. Maybe Marjorie wasn't always the epitome of feminine Southern grace and charm, but she didn't deserve to be executed and shot like a dog after having been exploited for her wealth and longing for companionship. Of course he didn't tell her he was gay, he couldn't manipulate her emotions and give her false hope during their "dating" and "courtship" if he had.* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had to post this up here as it is an excellent explanation that even a 1st grader could understand and it's sad that more people don't understand how evil what he did is! Her family should’ve been there for her! I used to work as a home health aide and I loved my clients just like they were my grandma or grandpa. I had one 98 year old client that lived alone, and she had dementia and couldn’t even make herself meals. Plus she was a fall risk! My job was to go there around breakfast time and make her breakfast and take her dog out and clean up her apartment. Right before I’d have to leave, I’d make her lunch and dinner and stick it in the fridge so she’d have meals for the evening. I told my boss numerous times that I was worried about her being there alone when us aides weren’t there because she was getting worse and worse and my boss told me it was all up to the daughter that barely ever saw her. 😣 Eventually, she ended up falling one night and wasn’t found until the next morning when my coworker went over there to make her breakfast. She ended up dying shortly after that while in the hospital. Always find time to check on your elderly relatives! They matter and they really need the company and the care in their life.

My wife runs an in-home care agency, and it has really opened my eyes to what awful people the families of the dying are. We had a client a few years back who fell in the floor at around 2am trying to get to the bathroom. His son and daughter in law were his caretakers, so he called them to come help him when he fell. They waited until 6am to call us to make sure they’d get paid before they went over and helped him up. My wife told them to just stay home and we would go help him up. The man had been on the floor for 4 1/2 hours, lying in his own waste while they knew the entire time that would be the case. When he passed, they tried to change his will and have my wife notarize it. She refused, of course. Mind you, this guy had very, very little, but they were rubbing their hands together and waiting for him to pass to get it. I can’t imagine what the wealthy go through with their families.

Yes, I can't stand this. This man preyed upon and murdered a helpless, elderly person. Of course he didn't tell her he was gay, he couldn't manipulate her emotions and give her false hope during their "dating" and "courtship" if he had.

The granddaughters obviously didn’t really care about their grandmother but that does not excuse the fact that he stole money and murdered the woman in cold blood. He is where he belongs. We as a society have got to stop making excuses for murderers.

*MOTIVE:* @15:32 - Majorie changed her will *_leaving her entire estate to Bernie._* The family is FULL-OF-IT ("Granny was loving/kind"). This shows Majorie was cruel by cutting them out, but she didn't deserve to be pushed into the grave by Bernie.

Bernie obviously did it, but those grand daughters give me bad vibes. You were so close it took 9 months to notice she was missing? C’mon now. They seem like they’re embellishing a lot of their memories and wanted money 🤷🏼♀️
@girlwhomustnotbenamed413911 ай бұрын
It's obvious they weren't close and she wasn't a kind loving lady. That doesn't mean though that Bernie taking advantage of her can't be true at the same time. It's just weird how the granddaughters are trying to paint their relationship as very close, as if it was a prerequisite for not wanting sy to take advantage of their grandma. I need to keep my distance from most of my family for my own well-being but I still wouldn't stand for sy shooting any of them in the back 4 times after using and abusing their money for months or years.

I worked in a law office in America once as a receptionist. There were three separate practices in the office. One day, while having lunch with the other office staff, I commented on the fact that one of the attorney's clients were generally all so charming and well mannered and the whole office broke out laughing. I wasn't aware, as I didn't do any typing etc. for that attorney, that he represented criminals. Yes, they were the charming ones, the other attorneys clients weren't as nice but they weren't criminals! Those who laughed said "what does that teach you?!". They were right.

My IMMEDIATE thought was the family were angry about the will...it's ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY...if they gave AF about her, they'd have been right there with her the whole time...9 months til they even bothered to look for her is pathetic...however, Bernie shooting her was not the solution, I understand the trapped feeling and the building resentment...even the ability to just snap one day...but he should have walked away...not killed her, no matter how abusive she was to him. I feel like the family knew how she could be deep down...but they stayed away and ultimately what happened happened... It's sad though...

My father recently passed away. I can promise you, if i knew a man was a frequent visitor to my mom, I would be all up in that business. Loneliness is a powerful erasure of caution, so I would do all I could to make sure my mother wasn't being bamboozled. While I realize my mother is entitled to have a companion/sweetheart, I would do my best to protect my mother from predator. If the man was on the up and up, I would welcome him into her life.

If the granddaughters were that concerned for their grandmother, why walk away? Why not persist and continue with regular contact? And not being in contact with her they surely wouldn’t have known what kind of relationship they had. All they had to go on was their own personal account of their relationship with her when they were children.
