@@Peppoli I had this idea a few years ago for a massive moshi retrospective look where in part I'd interview ppl associated like themoshimonsterkitty, Anastasia, the man himself Michael Acton and even popular accounts like "silly" (the first player to reach level 50). I never had the platform or resources to do this but u my friend are carrying the legacy of this former SUBCULTURE for 6-12 year olds (I can't recall any other child focused brand that dominated multimedia in the UK like dat). You covered a lot of ground with this video and I send the best wishes for your growth :)))

That would be REALLY cool. Mr Moshi would probably be the hardest to reach out of any of those, l but I am definitely going to do my best to reach out to some of these people (and maybe some other people from the moshi channel maybe) and see if i can do something, because that would be INSANE! I really wish that mind candy would just remake the game. Obviously it would take time and money but the game seems to have a heap of support. I'm an adult and I'd play it cus it's fun and I really enjoyed it as a kid.

I’m with you, it’d be really cool to have it today! Unfortunately the target audience of younger kids just isn’t the same anymore with the amount of game consoles and apps compared to 2008-2013 when Moshi was huge. the entire issue with the glumps is exactly that their point is to be "evil abominations," and connecting the idea of an evil abomination with facial disfigurement causes severse harm. their non-cute appearances arent really the issue, so much as calling them "feakface" and "fishlips," associating differing appearances with ugliness and villainy.

I completely understand your point, and like I said having someone being evil because they look different is lazy and old fashioned. I do think freakface could’ve been different, especially since it’s already an insult used against peoples appearances, whilst fishlips was a name chosen by a fan that won a competition. I also think that the glumps being blobs rather than humanoids helps a lot with the disconnect between in game and in real life, as opposed to having a Zommer or Furi have the facial characteristics of the glumps, similar to the intended disconnect between lady goo goo and lady gaga which also didn’t go down well. Of course this is all from my own mind and my own experiences, after growing up with the game I personally didn’t link any facial disfigurements from the game to real life, but it could be a very different story for people with less social experience etc. If you could educate me further on this I’d appreciate it, because being completely honest, I have close to no experience with this area, and hope what I said in the video about disagreeing with the petition wasn’t harmful towards anyone with facial disfigurements. My favourite Moshling was Oddie. Something is so charming about him, his cute little mouth hole and him being a colorfull donut. I really wanted to get him in game but always failed to grow him. There was a day where I stopped playing the game, but came back and to my suprise I got Oddie! I was so happy. I also wanted him in real life as a litte toy and it was quite hard to get him in Poland, but one day in Tesco there was a blind bag, I bought it and got him! I loved the game and im really sad they shut it down. I remember getting a lot of gifts but I didn't know what they ment because I was little and didn't know english that much. Thanks for reading! Oddie is really cute, definitely my favourite of the Foodies! He was super rare though, but I'm glad you ended up getting them in the end, and that's so call you managed to grab one in the blind bags, i don't think I ever got one. And the gifts were so cool but I understand that they can be confusing haha, they used to glitch out a bit if I remember right. Thanks for sharing your story with me, was a great read! :)

The forums shut down around September 2015 iirc 😭 it was a few days before I started school again. Most people were using the respective Chatzy for the forums at that point, they probably peaked from 2014-15 whereas the forums were most popular in 2010-13. Strange that they never officially shut them down though, they were only in maintenance. Impressive how there’s still a discord server for Moshi Forum-goers all these years later though!

3:47 I literally came up with a theory last night because I realised even after 12 years, we still haven't seen the true leader of CLONC. So my theory is that the CLONC leader is actually just a sentient chair with a rubber glove on a stick. This is because Moshi Monsters actually has a rather satirical way of parodying other media such as Star Wars and the music industry, so having a sentient item that the true villain would hide themselves behind AS the true villain in the series, in this case a giant chair, you can sort of see where I'm coming from.

This game is one of my favorite parts of my childhood, and I recently found out that apparently moshlinings came out on September 8th 2008, which is the year and date of my birthday. This game just keeps getting closer and closer to my heart, even though my childhood gets further and further away.

yo i just started playing rewritten a few days ago and man, it is great to be a kid again! Like I never thought I would play it for days and I am stomped, flabberghasted and gooped. I really wish the creator of rewritten make several major updates like finally finishing that darn construction site and adding new places. Honestly, I wish we gotten an animated series for Moshi monsters, it would’ve had SO much potential, it doesn’t matter if it were a Netflix original, I still wish we gotten it, and maybe it could take place after the movie, I hope Mind Candy could pick up the game again soon, Moshi Monsters egg hunt and Moshi Twilight (Now renamed Moshi) are still in the App Store, and the Twitter for Moshi monsters is still kinda active when you @ them in tweets and they respond, I hope we can get a Moshi monsters animated series one day, I rarely and never played but but never gotten to, but one day, I hope it gets the animated series it deserves

This is so wild to me! All of it! I really didn’t know anything about Moshi Monsters because no one I knew or myself growing up played this. I had a couple of tiny figures because I thought they were super cute, but I really wasn’t deep into the whole thing. I LOVED silly bands but had no idea they had moshi monsters ones! This is REALLY really awesome my friend you are amazing at narration and essay type content. I can tell you put so much love and time into this as well as being passionate about it to begin with. My absolute favorite moshling will always be Sooki Yaki, and i when i played egg hunt for the first time. She was the first moshling i got (apart from my own moshling) Also... i want moshi monsters village to come back, i miss it so much

My favorite Moshling's name was Yo-Yo I believe? The graffiti fox or coyote with the green hoodie. They were actually my first introduction to my favorite franchise Jet Set Radio, as I frequented a Moshi Monsters fan wiki and saw the trivia comparing Yo-Yo the Moshling to Yoyo from Jet Set Radio. My curiosity got the better of me and now im an avid fan of the Jet Set Radio franchise!! I still hold a lot of affection for Yo-Yo the Moshling. :)

I first played Future, if that gives you a good starting point :) I find it easier to play compared to the original game for the Dreamcast. I believe there may be a new JSR Game in the works? But Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is also it's spiritual successor by Team Reptile!! Both JSR and BRC are amazing games that I 100% Recommend checking out at least once!

This video was so good! I was taken aback when I saw it didn’t have more views! I began playing Moshi Monsters in 2009 and annoyed my parents talking about it all the time. I had Moshi posters in my room and submitted drawings to the art museum and contests, and had a whole collection of Moshling figures, guidebooks and the DS game. I was so sad when I discovered that the Moshi bus wasn’t in my country and I never got to see the movie. I absolutely loved playing the super missions but I was scared of Dr Strangeglove so I had to get my cousin to finish the university mission for me 😂 And to answer your question, my favorite Moshling used to be Iggy, but now it is Rocky! man, this was my #1 childhood game hands down! i had my account since 2013. i remember on TV there would be promos, and i just so happened to get my hands on VIP! Sooki-Yaki was my favorite moshling, and i remember being *so* happy when i finally got her. I had so many items, trophies.. even my second floor was FILLED with items! not to mention the amount of visits and notes i'd get.. young me felt *very* special. though as i joke i set my birth year to 2012.. i don't think i was able to change it (whoops) but i distinctly remember someone asking me in a note, ''are you really 1 years old?'' hah was very upsetting hearing the game come to close a few years back, though i'm glad rewritten is a thing. it's a shame i can't use my old credentials, i (surprisingly) still remember my username and password lol. interestingly enough, i had gone to the store the other day and found a Moshi Monsters MOSHIPEDIA book with a moshling figure of Hot Wings inside! i bought it of course, but it was honestly super shocking to see it. anyway, thanks for this video. miss the game truly but made many memories! glad people are still talking about the game

Sooki-Yaki was a super cool moshling, the whole Ninja set was probably one of the best all round i think, with Chop Chop, Shelby and General Fuziki! Hahaha I'm just imagining a 1 year old decorating their Moshi Monsters house now lol, surprised they didn't set the minimum age to 4 or something, although I guess parents could make accounts for their kids and control it for them, that would've been neat. Yo you found a rare piece of Moshi merch in store? Glad you bought it, I always do the same whenever I see any of it around because of how rare it is now lol. my absolute favorite moshling is Squidge. the lil cute vampire bat who drinks tomato soup with extra garlic, hehe. she was the first moshling i got as a kid and she meant EVERYTHING TO ME. even to this day, where i fulfilled my dream of getting the TY squidge plush who is as adorable as she looked on the internet. i wish i could relive the time of moshi monsters' hype in a situation where i was allowed to buy things such as memberships and physicals merchandise because a lot of my childhood was not extremely lavish and i had to get buy with playing all the popular free early 10's online mmos as a nonmember. the jealousy of seeing my friends play club penguin and super moshi missions was UNREAL. on a side note, im going to have to look into that chinese moshi monsters spinoff now. it looks so cute!?!? and i think its hilarious to be a fan of bootleg stuff.

i’ll never forget the flavoured water releasing, i was so excited for it and i made my mum search everywhere. i also faintly remember the ‘magic choc’ and it was pretty damn cute. Once found some chocolate eggs which contained a figure of one of the monster species inside which tasted like shit but the figure was cool

Moshi Monsters Rewritten releasing on July 13th hits hard for me because that's my birthday and when I was in late Elementary school this franchise was my entire life, so it felt like a personal gift to me.

The original game was amazing. I have heard some unpleasant stuff surrounding MMR more recently which is a reason my videos have reduced and I do not link the game anymore. Playing the rewritten i believe is harmless, but I do advise people to avoid the Discord, especially minors. Thank you for sharing this.

If it was 1000, 10,000, or 100,000. She was a rich kid though so her parents probably just bought the year long membership. It was like during 2009 or 2010 I think

The reason i recreated the lgg dress up game is because i wanted to play it when i was little and never could play it, so i remade it in february 2020. Im a HUGE moshi monsters fan, and i knew about a lot of this stuff, but i also learned a ton!! I think i know more obscure stuff about the movie specifically because after that came out i stopped liking the game as much and pretty much only focused on the movie, its still pretty much my all time favorite movie and i watch it whenever i can (litterally I've watched it during my free period at school multiple times this year lol. I also think i didn't know some stuff because I'm an american moshi fan, so a lot of the merch and contest stuff wasn't spread out here.

@@Peppoli yea i have a ton of fun facts about the movie! There's an instrumental track in the movie that plays when the main monsters go in the hot air balloon to the jungle, and that track actually has a leitmotif from the moshi monsters theme song from the music rox album. There are a couple other times when leitmotifs of other music rox songs play, some are more obvious then others (some i only noticed very recently). Another thing is that there was some radio thing where poppet and katsuma (or, well, their voice actors) took over the radio station for an hour to promote the movie (of course i had no idea about it at the time because it was a british radio station and im american). Last thing is about the voice actors but this is pretty common moshi fan knowledge, zommer, blingo and strangeglove all have the same voice actor, luvli and katsuma have the same voice actor, and the guy who voiced fishlips worked on guardians of the galaxy (on the cgi and special effects stuff). Of course i have more fun facts than this but this was just 3 quick ones
