Dude Lyman canonically being in Jon’s basement next to bones is terrifying, especially since I think that was his last appearance. Since you're literally the only person who'd appreciate these, here are my Garfield facts about myself: • I have read every single published Garfield comic from 1978 to 2011 where he switched to digital. • I grew up about 15 minutes from Fairmount, Indiana where Jim Davis grew up and passed a sign with Garfield on it every day. • I frequented a Children's Museum where there was a recreation of Garfield's house built inside, as well as several Garfield themed attractions like a green screen self insert video game thing and educational material. • I took several art classes done by Davis. I've always been interested in cartooning, animation, and comics, so he was big inspiration for me. • Odie is my favorite character. • Ironically I liked the Gnorm Gnat character more than Garfield because he was a bug and I was more of a fan of bugs. • I had a grandfather figure who was the carpenter who built Davis' house and would occasionally bring me sketches Jim did for me. (All lost now.) • Jim would frequent a bookstore I worked at during college and he'd sign random copies of Garfield collections and hide them on the shelf. • I was first in line to read his Mr Potato Head comic. It was shit.

As a child i used to religiously watch the first live action garfield movie. by the way my mom tells it at some point in my life i would not be able to go to sleep unless she put on the garfield movie for me. to this day i love the movie. when you said that the movies were widely hated i had to do a double because i was actually surprised by that statement. man the power of nostalgia.

Great video izzy. Very informative. However i was hoping to see more of the 'im sorry jon' which i guess its called. I have seen these artworks passed around online of Garfield in disturbing horror imagery and was genuinely confused as to why someone would pair Garfield into horror imagery. But this video still kind of explains it sort of.

*furby spider* (Edit) wait, if Garfield is living and dying infinitely does that mean that he’s just suffering an infinite death? If so, then y’all better start making Garfield death memes instead of diavolo death memes rn

That was exceptionally well made, Izzy! I love your content! Growing up, I read every Garfield comic the children's section of my local library had, including the original "9 Lives" (had no idea there was a redo), the anniversary book and one single, solitary random US Acres book. Never got a chance to see the show or the specials tho. Was really a treat to see a Garfield iceburg! Keep it up! ❤

I watched "Garfield and Friends" every Saturday as a kid in the '90s! Also, I loved the "9 Lives" TV special too. It was a little creepy but I loved it, especially the Diana segment ( even though it ended a little sad 😔) the different art styles all intermixed made it a wild ride.

This is both one of the greatest and most unsettling vids I’ve ever seen, up until I was about 10 years old I was obsessed with Garfield and extremely deep into his fandom and lore, somehow I knew a large amount of these things but a lot of the stuff you covered surprised, amazed and even shocked me! It’s 3am and my brain is slightly freaking out from both the nostalgia and the horrors of the garfield’s 9 lives things… because those were so terrifying and amazing to me as a kid lol. This was such an amazing video and I Thank you for that! I normally don’t comment on things but dude you blew me away honestly. I’d love to see more vids on Garfield and his lore :D

Me too, I love Garfield and I grew up looking at the tv series and the reboot of Garfield, mostly the reboot. I loved how much the comedy and satirical sarcastic nature of Garfield gave him a great character aspect and I adored that. But when the whole thing of the I’m sorry John, and the entire spooky scary thing came around (mostly the lovecraftian and Zalgo thing with Garfield came) I really disliked it because it took away what mainly created what Garfield is.

@@TheSwanqueenAndTheEldricth More than that. It was a disgrace. It sickens me to think people see our lasagna God that way. I'm writing this as I am about to be taken to the great beyond as a sacrifice, and they will use my body as meat for their lasagna offering. Garfield deserves no less.
