Seb, love your commentary videos. Would love to see one on some of the footage we have out of Bulgaria under Abadjiev (i.e. Zlatan Vanev's legendary 210 attempts, etc). Speaking of Vanev, it could be "The most absurd attempts in weightlifting ever." Cheers!

Jin Yun-seong's 181 from 2019 World Champs as a 102 looks really funny, no duck walking but you cannot beat his facial expressions.

I remember back in the old days, Manfred Nerlinger was a phenomenally strong super-heavyweight whose technique left a lot to be desired. He used to chase his lifts all over the platform. He was unintentionally entertaining!

I love Jo Pok Hyang's snatch + calf raise at 2014 worlds. There was another good one of those this year, can't remember who it was. Also basically every Chen Xiaoting snatch where she completely rounds her back and the bar twists around.

One of the most impressive snatch saves ive seen was tian taos 180kg at world's a few years ago where it was going backwards and he tilted it forwards slightly... Bearing in mind he missed his first 2 snatches

The last snatch reminds me of Russian legendary lifter David Rigert who was notorious for missing heavy snatches the same way when he was not on as in Munich 1972 and Moscow 1980 where he failed to register a snatch. He would snatch the weight and then became unstable and loose his balance to the right and missed the lift backwards or in front but always to the right. He hardly ever miss a C&J which was his forte.

Jin Yunseong (Korean 102 at the time,) I think from either worlds 18 or 19 saved a pretty crazy snatch. Notable for how Waxman et al said 'the story of that snatch was written on his face.' Dude was rocking back and forth for ages before standing it up, and celebrated appropriately. Easily one of my favourites.

Capital Court Wisconsin early '80s I was loading for the meet there. I don't remember the weight on the bar but I do remember Jeff Michaels snatch.Taking three to four duck walk steps forward, his butt almost touching the platform, steading the bar and then saving the lift. That man had amazing flexibility.
@troypeters29183 жыл бұрын
When I saw this video I immediately thought of Jeff. I trained with him a Sayre Park in Chicago and his butt could hit the platform.

Hopefully their bodies didnt get hurt by those lifts. Lord Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. If we repent and believe + trust in Lord Jesus, we will be saved, from hell and lake of fire, to everlasting life.
