I had the great privilege of spending time in Jim Clark Sr."s shop in the mid-seventies. Our item of interest was 1911s back then, but the hand fit, no holds barred quality attitude, his grandsons show today, originated in JC Sr.'s shop in Keithville, La. I also met Jim Clark Jr. at their operation in Princeton, La. They still use some of the same equipment used by their grandpa. BTW, Jim Clark Sr. was a Marine and served in WWII.

Yes sir well aware of Mr. Jim Clark's legacy. I know one thing he is a hard act to follow as you stated but his tutelage for these young men made a lasting impression. I am not affiliated they did not give me a discount of any kind.

Don't worry about it big fella. I have seen way too many of your videos where you had bug hole groups and then the last shot was a flyer. You got disappointed for a few seconds and like water off a ducks back you walked away from it. Nobody doubts your credibility and when you get good groups on camera or even if you did some off camera or the footage was blurry, it is genuine. Thanks for the vid.

Great video , While I've gone through a number of barrels on my 10/22 most notably a fluted 20" Elysium .920 and most recently a 16" .920 Kidd barrel both proving to be extremely accurate. I did however put a Clark mid weight barrel on one of my 77/22s and that this shoots like a dream now. Don't know why I had waited so long to switch out the pencil thin factory barrel . Again great video and thanks for sharing . SEMPER FI !!!

I built a 10/22 similar to what you have there. I used their tapered bull barrel with an accurized bolt, Richard Microfit stock similar to yours and a little trigger work. As a silhouette rifle it is great. Don't think the accuracy is up to that level but it isn't far behind.

Clark had a problem with turning out guns like Clark senior had turned out before his passing. Clark seniors attention to detail was second to none. It was a hard act to follow. Clark turns out good guns today, will they live up to Senior’s legacy? It is hard to beat perfection.

Actually had the opportunity to examine and shoot a couple of 1911’s that Clark Sr. had built for my senior instructor when I was in AMU. They were pieces of art. Slickest most close toleranced actions I have ever seen and triggers like glass. Clark jr. turns out good guns but very seldom does someone surpass the master. Clark Sr. would be a hard act to follow. I wouldn’t want to be the one who came after him. Just as good wouldn’t be enough. You would have to surpass him by a bunch before people would give you the credit you deserve.

Great shooter. 2 lessons for me: Try getting behind the rifle. Don’t brake cheek weld, which I have a lot of problems trying to correct. That may be due to the rear bag I am using. Great video.
@22waysoutdoors10 ай бұрын
Goodness gracious!
@garymeyer329410 ай бұрын
Some of the best advice given and taken is get BEHIND your rifle. I think that advice is contributing greatly to your improvement in groups. Other things...don't break your cheek weld between shots (which you didn't do in this video) and get your parallax fine tuned, even at 50 yards. The best clarity is not necessarily your best parallax. Set your scope for best clarity then bob your head up and down until you see absolutely no movement between your reticle dot or center ant the target your aiming at. It may be only a 64th of an inch in knob movement but it makes a difference when your aiming at a 1/8th inch target.
@Dayattherange10 ай бұрын
Absolutely, it's often why you do not see my make many scope adjustments on camera trying to cut out the unnecessary. There is a parallax adjustment routine that goes on. Whn the camera is on I am just trying to get thru and keep it short.

It feels more natural to be straight behind the gun to me, but those T-shaped benches make it hard to get comfortable. Getting your rest out towards the end of the forearm helped to. Nice rig and shooting.

Love all your videos but… It’s all your fault. All your fault. After accidentally finding out about a Clark, while looking for a different 22 other than the typical ones I see for my NRL22 efforts, and watching lots of Clark videos, I was drawn in. Then I was glad to see your videos on Clark and you sealed the deal. It’s all your fault. After reading as much as I could find, and not wanting to have a rifle like everyone else has on course, it’s so your fault… I pulled the trigger on one. It will soon be here. Cerakote dark earth action , black 16.25” Walther steel 0.92” bull barrel, on a Magpul Hunter X-22 stock. It’s all your fault - and thank you!!!😊

What height are your scope rings? I have a custom 10/22 with an Arken Optic and it sits high.

They are high rings but not every high ring is created equal lol. So 1,19in high The vortex rings are 1.25in high for example

It's not good enough to win in a bench rest match. At 50 yards, it needs to hit exactly 1/8 scale of an m+m in the 10 ring. Otherwise that shake your hand and say thanks for showing up.

Hey wait! This isn't a Ruger. Ruger is a cheap gun and I would never spend a nickel to make it a target gun. Bettcha this gun has very few OEM Ruger parts. Rugers are ok in their orginal form, but I will never spend money to "upgrade" those cheap guns. I did it twice and it was still a piece of crap.

Just Curious If Ruger is a Cheap Gun and also a ( Piece of Crap ) I Have to ask Why did you Spend Money Not Once But Twice?? Self Admittedly ya did it Twice? Maybe i missed something?
