Would lining the outside of gun safe with insulation keep the contents warmer ?

Is the goal to increase the fire protection of the safe for the items inside? I would think just putting insulation around the safe it would burn off quickly in a firing. Unless you mean build a brick/metal enclosure around the safe and added layers in between the two? That would absolutely increase the protection of the items inside.

@@Rick-tb4so Oh ok, sorry. Couldn’t hurt. I’d almost be more concerned with underneath the safe. When we deliver them into garages and set them on bare concrete it seems like the temperature of the concrete affects the interior safe temperature more than the room. Maybe use a 12” or 18” dry rod/Golden Rod dehumidifier inside the safe, they’re basically just heating elements.

I usually say “anything under 800lbs is fine on the second floor, anything heavier than that you need a structural engineer to confirm”.

In researching many, many safes, this thing looks like a Kodiak with a marginally better paint job. Same shelving material, same lock system, taller yet skinnier, a couple of inches less depth, more money slightly less capacity (all manufactures embellish). 1200F at 40 min vs 1400at 30 min., pick one that floats your boat. 14ga steel is common for these budget friendly safes. As noted by others, Liberty caved under the pretense of aiding LE while spitting on every customer. Getting a mediocre safe at a premium price is stupid.

I really like this safe that I bought about 2 weeks before Liberty had their meltdown. They were nice enough to give me the master code so I changed it. I'm just hoping we don't find out that Securam has an extra secret super duper master code.

We hear ya. Everything we own has value - social security card, birth certificate, medical records, pictures , weapons, ammo and more. It’s important to protect them all from burglar attempts and any fire damage. And there’s much smaller less expensive safes available, too.
