There's one time in India, a rickshaw driver told me that he had lots of friends all arround the world, then he took a bunch of namecards from his pocket and showed me one from Hong Kong (I'm from Hong Kong). I had this kind of thing in Luxor, Egypt. It got so annoying that at one point I decided to count how many times people followed me and tried to sell me something. 12 times in 15 minutes. I was just walking along the street. As soon as one guy gave up, a new one would run across the street to take his place. Bizarrely, I never had this problem at all in India. When I was in India, 2 days were enough for me to change all the plans to visit any touristic places, and I just went to Goa and spent several weeks there instead of travelling across the country. Only when I met foreign tourists, my trip became fun. So I only hanged out with tourists and only completely isolated any communication with locals.
