The guy who mapped all 81 home games the Astros played in 2017 discovered, one, that Altuve got trash can bangs during only 2% of his at bats, and two, that by the way he glared at the dugout every time it happened, it was easy to perceive that HE DIDN'T WANT THE "HELP." It would be ridiculous to bar him from the HOF.

Well, the Astro’s did cheat, so there is always that. Maybe the Astro’s players from that era need to be scrutinized the same way steroid era players are and how Pete Rose is. If Altuve knew the pitch that was coming, his numbers are skewed. At least the steroid users didn’t know what pitch was coming. Not to mention, Altuve might need to reach 3000 hits to cement his chance at Cooperstown in order to leave behind the possibility of cheating ruining his induction. If Pete Rose is left out, so should the Astros players.

My only take is - As an Asian American I hate Yuli Gurriel who was blatantly caught making an all too familiar racist gesture accompanied by an epithet towards Yu Darvish. He claimed, “We [in Cuba] call all Asian people Chinese… I know [the gesture and epithet is] offensive, so I apologize for that." He knew what he was doing was wrong, but he still consciously decided to do it. He just didn’t know he would be caught. He played in Japan for a year and for a team who went out of their way to help him adjust to a different culture. They hired a special chef who could prepare him his familiar Cuban dishes and they bought him round trip train tickets between cities because he wasn’t comfortable with flying. Gurriel didn’t say a simple, “I’m sorry , I was wrong,” but rather had the remark, "I didn't try to offend nobody.” I’m glad he’s not playing in the MLB anymore.
